The aim of this work was to stabilize oil-in-water nanoemulsion containing sage (salvia officinalis) essential oil, for enhancing its physicochemical stability and enlarging its industrial applications. New β-cyclodextrin nanosponges were synthesized by polycondensation using naphthalene dicarboxylic acid as cross-linking agent, the latter system was characterized by FTIR spectroscopy, SEM, BET, and powder XRD. Nanoemulsions stabilized by free β-cyclodextrin or nanosponges were prepared, their physicochemical properties were determined (particles size, zeta potential, viscosity, turbidity, and essential oil content) and their stability was studied at different storage temperatures (4?°C, 20?°C, and 40?°C) during 3?months. Pharmaceutical application of prepared nanoemulsions was investigated in vitro by dissolution test study and in vivo by their antidiabetic activity evaluation in rats. Sage essential oil nanoemulsion stabilized by β-cyclodextrin-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid nanosponges presents very high stability and promising uses in pharmaceutical industry.  相似文献

This research focuses on green production of bioactive proteins and hydrolysates from Nitzschia. A comparison of antioxidant activities was established between protein extracts and hydrolysates from Nitzschia and two other well‐known microalgae, chlorella and spirulina. Protein hydrolysates from these microalgae were produced using Alcalase®, Flavourzyme® and Trypsin. The hydrolysis process enhanced the antioxidant activities in general, especially those obtained using Alcalase®. Nitzschia showed the highest (P < 0.05) total phenolic content/reducing capacity (2.4 ± 0.02 mg GAE/100 g) after 90 min of hydrolysis with Alcalase®. The ABTS [2,2′‐Azino‐bis(3‐ethylbenzothiazoline‐6‐sulphonic acid)] radical scavenging activity (66.77 ± 0.00%) was highest (P < 0.05) after 120 min of hydrolysis, but DPPH (2,2‐Diphenyl‐1‐picrylhydrazyl radical) was low (29.59 ± 0.02%). A correlation between ABTS activity and total phenolic contents was the highest (P < 0.05) for protein hydrolysates from all three organisms using Alcalase®, but superoxide anion radical scavenging activity was intermediate for Nitzschia. Therefore, Nitzschia protein hydrolysates have the potential to be used as antioxidants.  相似文献

In this paper, a hybrid algorithm consisting of particle swarm optimization and pattern search algorithm is proposed to evaluate and optimize the design and operation of microgrids (MGs) in combined gas and power networks. Key performance indicators (KPIs) are modeled and proposed to evaluate and assess MGs. The paper begins by proposing a comprehensive study to define KPIs, which are used to evaluate the following MG parameters: economical efficiency, reliability, environmental conservation, and power quality. Multi‐objective evaluation functions are then developed by building a relationship matrix of MG and KPI components. The results are then displayed as optimized power generation percentages for each technology with values for four KPI categories: cost, quality, reliability and environmental friendliness. Two case studies are examined in this paper; both the province of Ontario and Toronto regional zone under all system parameters with varying percentage of generation via gas technology. Results indicated that the optimal scenario for both Ontario and Toronto was achieved at hybrid PSO–patern search percentage generation via gas technology with improved cost KPI and other KPIs remaining approximately constant. Tea is the second most consumed beverage in the world and its consumption has been associated with numerous potential health benefits. Factors such as fermentation methods, geographical origin and season can affect the primary and secondary metabolite composition of tea. In this study, a hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography (HILIC) method coupled to high resolution mass spectrometry in both positive and negative ionisation modes was developed and optimised. The method when combined with principal component analysis to analyse three different types of tea, successfully distinguished samples into different categories, and provided evidence of the metabolites which differed between them. The accurate mass and high resolution attributes of the mass spectrometric data were utilised and relative quantification data were extracted post-data acquisition on 18 amino acids, showing significant differences in amino acid concentrations between tea types and countries. This study highlights the potential of HILIC chromatography combined with non-targeted mass spectrometric methods to provide a comprehensive understanding of polar metabolites in plant extracts.  相似文献

Beet-pulp dehydration in the sugar industry is a highly energy intensive unit operation. Producing 1?kg of dried beet-pulp requires ~2–3?kg of water to be removed. The cost saving is a real challenge in sugar factory as the current dryers are underperforming (around 3?MJ/kg of water evaporated) because the heat recovery is limited and only a small proportion of dryer exhaust can be reused. The aim of this study was to investigate by simulation the energy efficiency of an independent multistage drying method that combines superheated steam drying (SHSD) and hot air drying (AD). Two case studies awarding the two types of energy coupling (AD then SHSD or SHSD then AD) are presented and compared. An approach of optimization is developed from energy balance. A number of operating parameters of the two drying configurations are investigated using sensitivity analysis. It proves that both cases allow an energy economy around 40% compared to the conventional dryer. Nevertheless, the SHSD-AD plant may present more benefits for a better quality product.  相似文献
