Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the second most diagnosed cancer in the United States. It is identified by histopathological evaluations of microscopic images of the cancerous region, relying on a subjective interpretation.
The Colorectal Histology dataset used in this study contains 5000 images, made available by the University Medical Center Mannheim. This approach proposes the automatic identification of eight types of tissues found in CRC histopathological evaluation. We apply Transfer Learning from architectures of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs). We modify the structures of CNNs to extract features from the images and input them to well-known machine learning methods: Naive Bayes, Multilayer Perceptron, k-Nearest Neighbors, Random Forest, and Support Vector Machine (SVM). We evaluated 108 extractor–classifier combinations. The one that achieved the best results is DenseNet169 with SVM (RBF), reaching an Accuracy of 92.083% and F1-Score of 92.117%. Therefore, our approach is capable of distinguishing tissues found in CRC histopathological evaluation.
This paper addresses the double vehicle routing problem with multiple stacks (DVRPMS) in which a fleet of vehicles must collect items in a pickup region and then travel to a delivery region where all items are delivered. The load compartment of all vehicles is divided into rows (horizontal stacks) of fixed profundity (horizontal heights), and on each row, the unloading process must respect the last‐in‐first‐out policy. The objective of the DVRPMS is to find optimal routes visiting all pickup and delivery points while ensuring the feasibility of the vehicle loading plans. We propose a new integer linear programming formulation, which was useful to find inconsistencies in the results of exact algorithms proposed in the literature, and a variable neighborhood search based algorithm that was able to find solutions with same or higher quality in shorter computational time for most instances when compared to the methods already present in the literature. 相似文献

The photo-oxidation of acid orange 52 dye was performed in the presence of H2O2, utilizing UV light, aiming the discoloration process modeling and the process variable influence characterization. The discoloration process was modeled by the use of feedforward neural network. Each sample was characterized by five independent variables (dye concentration, pH, hydrogen peroxide volume, temperature and time of operation) and a dependent variable (absorbance). The neural model has also provided, through Garson Partition coefficients and the Pertubation method, the independent variable influence order determination. The results indicated that the time of operation was the predominant variable and reaction mean temperature was the lesser influent variable. The neural model obtained presented coefficients of correlation on the order 0.98, for sets of trainability, validation and testing, indicating the power of prediction of the model and its character of generalization. 相似文献
Peptide substrates with intramolecularly quenched fluorescence that reproduce the rat kininogen sequences at both ends of the bradykinin moiety were synthesized and used to investigate the kinin-releasing properties of five rat tissue kallikreins (rK1, rK2, rK7, rK9, rK10). Substrates derived from rat H- and L-kininogen were cleaved best by rK1, especially that including the N-terminal insertion site of bradykinin, Abz-TSVIRRPQ-EDDnp(Abz = O-aminobenzoyl, EDDnp = ethylenediamine 2,4-dinitrophenyl), which was cleaved at the R-R bond with a k(cat)/Km of 12400 mM(-1) s(-1). Replacement of the P2' residue Pro by Val in Abz-TSVIRRPQ-EDDnp gave a far less specific substrate that was rapidly hydrolysed by all five rat kallikreins and human kallikrein hK1. Peptidyl-N-methyl coumarylamide substrates, which lack prime residues, also had low specificities. The importance of the P2' residue for rK1 specificity was further demonstrated using a human-kininogen-derived substrate that included the N-terminal insertion site of bradykinin (Abz-LMKRP-EDDnp). This was cleaved at the M-K bond by hK1 (kallidin-releasing site), but at the K-R bond (bradykinin-releasing site) by rK1. Competition experiments with Abz-TSVIRRPQ-EDDnp, which is resistant to most kallikreins, and Abz-TSVIRRVQ-EDDnp, a general kallikrein substrate, demonstrated that the former competitively inhibited hydrolysis by rK9 and hK1, with Ki values similar to the Km values for the substrate. Thus Pro in P2' does not prevent the peptide binding to the enzyme active site, but impairs cleavage of the scissile bond. The T-kininogen-derived substrate with the T-kinin C-terminal sequence (Abz-FRLVR-EDDnp) was cleaved by rK10 (k(cat)/Km = 2310 mM(-1) s(-1)) and less rapidly by rK1, rK7 and hK1, at the R-L bond, while that corresponding to the N-terminal (Abz-ALDMMISRP-EDDnp) of T-kinin was resistant to all five kallikreins used, suggesting that none has T-kininogenase activity. But this substrate was hydrolysed by a semipurified sample of submandibular gland extract. Another kallikrein, identified as kallikrein rK3, was isolated from this fraction and shown to hydrolyze Abz-ALDMMISRP-EDDnp; rK3 also specifically released T-kinin from purified T1/T2-kininogen after HPLC fractionation. Injection of purified rK3 and of Abz-ALDMMISRP-EDDnp-cleaving fractions into the circulation of anesthesized rats caused transient falls in blood pressure, as did purified rK1 but none of the other purified rat or human kallikreins. This effect occurred via activation of the kinin system since it was blocked by Hoe140, a kinin receptor antagonist. 相似文献
Degradation and utilization of protein by Prevotella ruminicola B1(4), a proteolytic bacterium that is prominent in the rumen, was examined. In preliminary experiments, proteinaceous N sources produced faster growth rates than did NH4Cl, based on changes in optical density over time. However, ammonium chloride produced a greater maximum cell density than did proteinaceous N sources. Of the proteinaceous N sources, an enzymatic hydrolysate of soybean protein with a relative peptide size of 3 AA residues produced a greater growth rate and maximum cell density compared with the other proteinaceous N sources. Further experiments revealed that P. ruminicola B1(4) grew faster and to a greater final dry weight with soybean protein than with casein. Degradation of both proteins was low as was indicated by the slow disappearance of soluble protein, low concentrations of free AA and peptides, and the decrease in ammonia concentrations over time. Patterns of degradation did differ between the two proteins, however. Accumulation of peptides and free AA from soybean protein peaked 2 h earlier than those from casein, and concentrations of free AA and peptides from soybean protein were lower on average than those from casein. Prevotella ruminicola B1(4) preferentially utilized Asp, Ile, Leu, Lys, and Arg from soybean protein compared with casein. The relative size of peptides that accumulated from both proteins, as determined by the ratio of ninhydrin reaction after HCl hydrolysis to ninhydrin reaction before HCl hydrolysis, suggested that part of the proteolytic activity of P. ruminicola B1(4) is a dipeptidase. Our findings suggest that P. ruminicola may have a greater impact on peptide degradation than on protein degradation in the rumen. 相似文献
Sugar cane bagasse ash, a byproduct of sugar and alcohol production, is a potential pozzolanic material. However, its effective application in mortar and concrete requires first the controlled use of grinding and classification processes to allow it to achieve the fineness and homogeneity that are required to meet industry standards. The present paper investigates the role of mill type and grinding circuit configuration in grinding in laboratory- and pilot plant-scale on the particle size, specific surface area and pozzolanic activity of the produced ashes. It was observed that, although different size distributions were produced by the different mills and milling configurations, the pozzolanic activity of the ground ash was directly correlated to its fineness, characterized by its 80% passing size or Blaine specific surface area. From a low pozzolanic activity of less than 50% of the as-received ash, values above 100% could be reached after prolonged grinding times. Electric power requirements to reach the minimum pozzolanic activity were estimated to be in the order of 42 kWh/t in an industrial ball mill. Incorporation of an ultrafinely-ground ash in a high-performance concrete in partial replacement of Portland cement (10, 15 and 20% by mass) resulted in no measurable change in mechanical behavior, but improved rheology and resistance to penetration of chloride ions. 相似文献
