The KHNP (Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co.) has developed a multipurpose nuclear safety analysis code called SPACE (the safety and performance analysis code) for nuclear power plants. SPACE code is a best-estimated two-phase three-field thermal-hydraulic analysis code used to analyze the safety and performance of pressurized water reactors. In this paper, LOFT (loss of fluid test) L9-3 experiment using the SPACE code was selected to confirm the capability of SPACE code and the results calculated by the SPACE code are compared with those measured through the experiment. The results were compared with the experimental data and those of the other code simulations. Throughout the simulation result, it was concluded that the SPACE code can effectively simulate LOFT L9-3 experiment.  相似文献

We demonstrate that the nanoscopic block copolymer patterns on GaN can enhance light extraction efficiency of GaN-based light emitting diodes. Nanoporous patterns were fabricated on a bare GaN substrate via self-assembly of poly(styrene-b-methyl methacrylate) block copolymers from which PMMA microdomains were selectively removed later on. A bare GaN surface was treated with a photo-crosslinkable thin layer of poly(styrene-r-methyl methacrylate) random copolymers to tune the cylindrical microdomain orientations. The nanoporous block copolymer thin film was controlled to be thicker than its typical repeat period in bulk by incorporating PMMA homopolymer into block copolymer. Consequently, the light extraction efficiency in photoluminescence spectra could be tuned with the thickness of nanopatterned thin film on GaN. The strain- and polarization-electric field behavior was characterized at room temperature for Pb0.98Ba0.01(Zr1−xTix)0.98Nb0.02O3, 0.40 ⩽ x ⩽ 0.60. The investigated compositions were located in the vicinity of the morphotropic phase boundary, giving insight into the influence of crystal structure on the hysteretic ferroelectric behavior. The remanent strain of particular compositions is shown to be larger than theoretically allowed by ferroelectric switching alone, indicating the presence of additional remanent strain mechanisms. A phenomenological free energy analysis was used to simulate the effect of an applied electric field on the initial equilibrium phase. It is shown that electric-field-induced phase transitions in polycrystalline ferroelectrics can account for the experimental observations. The experimental and simulation results are contrasted to neutron diffraction measurements performed on representative compositions in the virgin and remanent states.  相似文献

The crack growth resistance behavior of polycrystalline Pb(Zr1?xTix)O3 has been characterized in a novel experimental arrangement between 24 and 140 °C. Experimental measurements were carried out on compact tension specimens submerged in a temperature-controlled silicone oil bath. The results show a decrease in the observed shielding toughness, leading to an overall reduction in the maximum toughness. The temperature-dependent stress–strain behavior and elastic properties were characterized, providing an insight into the effect of the changing ferroelastic properties on the temperature-dependent fracture behavior.  相似文献

We report on the electrical behavior of gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) intervened metal-pentacene-insulator-semiconductor structures. The structure adopts polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and pentacene as gate insulator and semiconductor, respectively. On the PVA (250 nm) film which was spin-coated and UV cross-linked, 3-aminopropyl triethoxysilane was functionalized for self assembling of the Au NPs monolayer. The devices exhibited clockwise hysteresis in their capacitance-voltage characteristics, with a memory window depending on the range of the voltage sweep. A relatively large memory window of about 4.7 V, which was deduced from control devices, was achieved with voltage sweep of (−/+)7 V. Formation of the monolayered Au NPs was confirmed by field effect scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy.  相似文献

Performance of a flying cross bar, instead of the flying plate, to incapacitate the long-rod penetrator, has been evaluated numerically based on a finite element model. The length to diameter ratio, L/D, of the penetrator was 30 and the velocity was 2.0 km/s. The length of the cross bar was fixed to 0.5L and the velocity of the bar was determined from its mass and given kinetic energy. The bar was assumed to impact the mid point of the penetrator at 45° of obliquity. The efficiency of flying cross bar is maximum when the diameter of the bar is in the range between 1D and 4D depending on the energy of the bar and the distance to witness block. The protection capability of the bar has been discussed in terms of the shape and lateral displacement of the disturbed penetrator by the flying cross bar.  相似文献

Shape optimization of two-dimensional lenses for acoustic cameras used in underwater acoustic imaging is presented. To understand elastic shear wave effects of a lens on the pressure field of the medium, we couple two physics models, namely a pressure acoustics model and a linear elastic model and formulate it in the finite element analysis framework. As a result, the focal length of a lens is calculated to be longer than that in the absence of shear effects. The accuracy of our model is tested against experimental results, and compared with finite element analysis of a single physics model as well as the hybrid method - a method using geometrical acoustics and wave acoustics. Pressure at the focal point is optimized using geometric parameters for lens surfaces as design variables. Performance differences due to temperature change or obliquely incident waves are controlled using design constraints. The effectiveness of our optimization formulation is verified by solving single- and dual-lens design problems.

In this study, it is demonstrated that an organic memory structure using pentacene and citrate-stabilized silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) as charge storage elements on dielectric SiO2 layer and silicon substrate. The Ag NPs were synthesized by thermal reduction method of silver trifluoroacetate with oleic acid. The synthesized Ag NPs were analyzed with high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and selected area electron diffraction (SAED) for their crystalline structure. The capacitance versus voltage (C-V) curves obtained for the Ag NPs embedded capacitor exhibited flat-band voltage shifts, which demonstrated the presence of charge storages. The citrate-capping of the Ag NPs was confirmed by ultraviolet-visible (UV-VIS) and Fourier transformed infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. With voltage sweeping of +/-7 V, a hysteresis loop having flatband voltage shift of 7.1 V was obtained. The hysteresis loop showed a counter-clockwise direction. In addition, electrical performance test for charge storage showed more than 10,000 second charge retention time. The device with Ag NPs can be applied to an organic memory device for flexible electronics.  相似文献
