Chemical modification of EVOH in the molten state at 185 °C by a grafting from process of poly(ε‐caprolactone) in batch was studied. 1H NMR was used to characterize the structure evolutions of PCL grafts. In addition to grafting reactions, dynamic covalent transesterification reactions between EVOH residual alcohols and the polyester grafts led to a redistribution of the PCL grafts length. up to 27 and SR up to 80% were obtained. Experiments made in a corotating mini twin‐screw extruder also confirmed these results. The effect of the alcohol to caprolactone ratio and catalyst concentration (SnOct2) on kinetic evolution showed that few minutes were necessary to complete the polymerization. A kinetic model was proposed and adequate conditions for the synthesis by reactive extrusion were defined.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate and compare the effect of Reciproc Blue (RPCB), XP‐endo Shaper (XPS), and WaveOne Gold (WOG) single‐files on dentinal microcrack formation using micro‐computed tomography (micro‐CT). Twenty‐four mesial roots (24 mesio‐buccal and 24 mesio‐lingual canals) of mandibular molar teeth were prepared using RPCB, XPS, and WOG files (n = 8/each group). The samples were scanned with micro‐CT in the pre‐ and post‐preparation. Then, before preparation and after preparation cross‐sectional images of the teeth were evaluated to detect the presence of microcracks. For each group, the number of microcracks was calculated as a percentage rate. The data were statistically analyzed using McNemar at 5% significance level (p < .05). Dentinal microcracks were observed in 25.99% (2,103 of 7,813), 31.99% (2,482 of 7,758), and 36.66% (2,836 of 7,731) of cross‐sectional images of the XPS, WOG, and RPCB groups, respectively. In all the groups, all the dentinal microcracks seen in the post‐treatment cross‐sectional images were present in the corresponding pre‐treatment images. Within the limitations of this study, the XPS, WOG, and RPCB files did not cause new dentinal microcrack formation or propagation of existing dentinal microcracks. 相似文献

Biodiesel is one of the promising energy sources that could replace petroleum oil in the near future. Microalgae is occupying a distinguished position among the promising sources for biodiesel production. Enhancement of the lipids production during the pretreatment is a key factor for the biodiesel production. High-pressure homogenizer is a better pretreatment procedure to enhance the lipid extraction from microalgae. In this research, a robust model of biodiesel system using fuzzy logic is built based on the experimental data for biodiesel system. Then, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) optimizer is applied for determining the best operating parameters of biodiesel system. The decision variables used in the optimization process are; pressure, number of passes, and reaction time that maximizes the percentage of recovery lipids of biodiesel. A comparison study was carried out between the optimized results thought PSO algorithm and those obtained by the experimental results and the optimized results through the Response Surface Methodology (RMS). Results demonstrated that using the proposed optimization methodology is significantly better than RSM, a nearly 78.7% increase in lipids extraction could be achieved according to the current model. 相似文献

The use of silver as an antimicrobial agent has exhibited great interest in recent years. In this research, poly(ethylene-co-vinyl alcohol) (EVOH)–silver acetate-based antimicrobial materials were prepared at high temperature by reactive extrusion. Silver acetates were used without pretreatment. The thermal reaction of silver acetates in the material and their effect on the thermal and mechanical properties of the polymer were investigated as a function of their concentration. The dispersed silver acetate salts within the EVOH matrix have displayed a significant thermal reaction. This reaction of metallic salts was partial when the extrusion temperature was fixed at 190 °C and completed at 230 °C. The antimicrobial agents also had significant effects on the properties of the matrix. Reductions of glass temperature and storage modulus were observed by the analyses. All the variations were dependent on both the concentration of silver acetate and the extrusion parameters. The antimicrobial activity was studied and demonstrated a promising potential to create an antimicrobial material in a one-step solvent free extrusion method. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Aluminum dross produced from aluminum industry was used to fabricate Al2O3/Al porous composites. The dross was milled for 20?h to obtain nano powder. The milled material was examined by TEM and XRD. Graphene (up to 4?wt%) was mixed with the dross and utilized to reinforce sintered composites. The milled powders were compacted then fired at various temperatures up to 700?°C. Physical properties in terms of bulk density and apparent porosity for sintered composites were tested using Archimedes method. SEM attached by energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS) was used to inspect microstructure and elemental analysis of sintered composites. Microhardness and compressive strength were also measured. Ultrasonic nondestructive technique was utilized to examine the elastic moduli. Electrical conductivity of sintered composite was also studied. During milling up to 20?h, Al2O3/Al core-shell was in-situ formed with size of 65.9 and 23.8?nm, respectively. The apparent porosity of sintered composites was improved with rising graphene percent while it decreased with increasing sintering temperature. Increasing of graphene mass percent and firing temperature led to remarkable increase in all mechanical properties and electrical conductivity. The maximum compressive strength, hardness, elastic modulus and electrical conductivity were 200?MPa, 1200?MPa, 215?GPa and 1.42?×?10?5 S/m, respectively, obtained for composite sintered at 700?°C having 4?wt% graphene. 相似文献

Monitoring the release and activation of prodrug formulations provides essential information about the outcome of a therapy. While the prodrug delivery can be confirmed by using different imaging techniques, confirming the release of active payload by using imaging is a challenge. Here, we have discovered that the switchable fluorescence of doxorubicin can validate drug release upon its uncaging reaction with a highly specific chemical partner. We have observed that the conjugation of doxorubicin with a trans-cyclooctene (TCO) diminishes its fluorescence at 595 nm. This quenched fluorescence of the doxorubicin prodrug is recovered upon its bond-cleaving reaction with tetrazine. Clinically assessed iron oxide nanoparticles were used to formulate a doxorubicin nanodrug. The release of doxorubicin from the nanodrug was studied under various experimental conditions. A fivefold increase in doxorubicin fluorescence is observed after complete release. The studies were carried out in vitro in MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells. An increase in Dox signal was observed upon tetrazine administration. This switchable fluorescence mechanism of Dox could be employed for fundamental studies, that is, the reactivity of various tetrazine and TCO linker types under different experimental conditions. In addition, the system could be instrumental for translational research where the release and activation of doxorubicin prodrug payloads can be monitored by using optical imaging systems. 相似文献

ABSTRACTArabic sign language (ArSL) is method of communication between deaf communities in Arab countries; therefore, the development of systemsthat can recognize the gestures provides a means for the Deaf to easily integrate into society. In this research we implemented a computational structurefor an intelligent interpreter that automatically recognizes the isolated dynamic gestures. The proposed system recognizes and translates gesturesperformed with one or both hands. It comprises five subsystems, building dataset, video processing, feature extraction, mapping between ArSL and Arabictext, and text generation. To apply the system, 100-signs of ArSL was used, which was applied on 1500 video files. It's were divided into five classes:alphabet, numbers, "prepositions, pronouns and question words", Arabic life expressions, and "nouns and verbs". The evaluation indicated that thesystem automatically recognizes and translates isolated dynamic ArSL gestures by highly accurate manner. The results showed that the system accuracy is 95.8%. 相似文献

In this article, an adaptive denoising method is suggested to accurate investigate the optical and structural features of polymeric fibers from noisy phase shifting microinterferograms. The mixed class of noise that may produce in the phase-shifting interferometric techniques is established. To our knowledge, this is an early study considered the mixing noises that may occur in microinterferograms. The suggested method utilized the convolution neural networks to detect the noise class and then denoising, it according to its class. Four convolution neural networks (Googlenet, VGG-19, Alexnet, and Alexnet–SVM) are refined to perform the automatic classification process for the noise class in the established data set. The network with the highest validation and testing accuracy of these networks is considered to apply the suggested method on realistic noisy microinterferograms for polymeric fibers, polypropylene and antimicrobial polyethylene terephthalate)/titanium dioxide, recoded using interference microscope. Also, the suggested method is applied on noisy microinterferograms include crazing and nanocomposite material. The demodulated phase maps and the three-dimensional birefringence profiles are calculated for tested fibers according to the suggested method.
