Concurrent engineering involves the integration of people, tools, information, and processes into a responsive and efficient
system. This paper addresses a key requirement in distributed concurrent engineering, namely, the ability for geographically
dispersed and disparate parties, having heterogeneous computing platforms, to exchange design and manufacturing data. The
development of an effective and efficient collaborative product design support environment based on the WWW/Internet is presented.
A new method that reduces the transmission time through the use of macro files is proposed to realise the real-time communication,
together with a monitoring methodology for synchronising group operations, and maintaining consistency of shared CAD models
in a cooperative design review (co-modifying) process. Based on the proposed methods, a software interface has been developed
to extend the traditional single location CAD software system to a multi-location application for coordinated product design
through the Internet. This software interface was coded in Java. The architecture is a connection-oriented client/server structure
using TCP/IP protocol. Unigraphics on a UNIX Workstation and MicroStation on Windows NT have been successfully integrated.
The findings of this paper allow product designers to exchange and share product data, communicate with team members, modify
geometry data on particular aspects of the design, and maintain operations consistency in all the distributed cooperative

为了实现分布式业务过程管理,降低异构过程的集成费用,提出了基于Web服务与Agent的业务过程管理三层体系结构,并在此基础上给出了软件系统的实施方法。在该体系中,数据层向业务过程的定义、制定和执行提供相关信息和支持,协同应用层包含了业务过程引擎模块及负责Web服务搜索、选择及分配的多个Agent,接口层实现系统与服务提供商之间的协商管理。为了减少业务过程执行中用户系统与服务之间以及不同服务之间的交互和数据交换,提出了基于服务提供商位置的Web服务选择算法,对时间敏感性的分布式过程管理提供了良好的解决方案。 相似文献

在分析产品协同开发平台的功能框架以及主要协同模式的基础上,深入研究了虚拟样机多学科协同设计与仿真平台的分布式计算模型,及其协同运行管理、协同产品开发资源库管理、分布数据的协同交互管理与系统实现技术。基于COM/DCOM的建模与仿真工具协同、支持仿真联邦管理的数据库设计和CORBA的应用实现技术,开发了原型系统。该系统支持Internet网络环境下各种建模与仿真工具跨平台、分布交互与异构集成,可有效支持复杂产品虚拟样机的协同开发。 相似文献

Web Services, a distributed component technology based on XML and the Internet, is used for integrating heterogeneous systems under a distributed environment. Since CAD data is used as master data across the lifecycle of a product, it is important to share CAD data efficiently among the systems that are used for collaborative product development in a distributed environment. In this study, the concept of Web Services for CAD (WSC), which provides CAD data when required by organizations participating in the collaborative product development, is introduced. In addition, the technical details of WSC, including the system architecture of WSC, XML-based neutral CAD model, and interface for retrieving CAD model data are discussed. In this paper an innovative hardware and software platform, called ADCWAN (Analog to Digital Converters on Wide Area Network), concerning the electronic measurement field is presented. In particular, ADCWAN is a pioneering networking cooperative environment regarding Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) testing. The hardware and software architectures of ADCWAN are described in detail and some ADC tests using the same test setup are presented. ADCWAN is distributed on a wide geographic area providing theoretical and practical tools to characterize ADCs. In particular, ADCWAN is a new approach to promote the harmonization of standards existing for ADCs, it establishes a collaborative work environment supporting the scientific research community to improve the harmonization level, allowing the scientific training of young researchers, the dissemination and the comparison of metrological information. The paper proposes an agent framework to help leather cutters undertake part placement tasks in a simulator based training environment. Footwear manufacture involves cutting components from a hide to maximise material utilisation. A training simulator allows operators to be trained without wasting leather by using digitally scanned parts and hides. Integrating agents into a training simulator allows user actions to be monitored and feedback to be provided on leather cutting practices. In a ubiquitous computing environment, computer-aided engineering (CAE) software packages can be encapsulated as a service and be accessible through networks, which is essential to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) for complex product design with limited computing resources. In this paper, a web service-based platform for the multi-disciplinary collaborative simulation (MDCSS) is proposed, which is a software-sharing environment. In MDCSS, although the CAE software packages reside in their remote application program servers, they are registered in the service center to be accessible according to the computing requests. Given the increasing CAE services with the same function, a quality of service (QoS)-aware scheduling method with real-time and countable parameters is proposed to adaptively select the most efficient web service among alternatives. Through an additional layer and an application broker for service scheduling, MDCSS allows allocating services automatically, keeping load balance, and minimizing human intervention. This platform is reusable, scalable, and efficient for implementation, which enables the end user to invoke the remote CAE software ubiquitously in a “pay-as-you-use” fashion. 相似文献
