According to the disadvantages of real time and continuity for multimedia services in ad hoc networks, a delay constraint multipath routing protocol for wireless multimedia ad hoc networks, which can satisfy quality of service (QoS) requirement (QoS multipath optimized link state routing [MOLSR]), is proposed. The protocol firstly detects and analyzes the link delay among the nodes and collects the delay information as the routing metric by HELLO message and topology control message. Then, through using the improved multipath Dijkstra algorithm for path selection, the protocol can gain the minimum delay path from the source node to the other nodes. Finally, when the route is launched, several node‐disjoint or link‐disjoint multipaths will be built through the route computation. The simulation and test results show that QoS‐MOLSR is suitable for large and dense networks with heavy traffic. It can improve the real time and reliability for multimedia transmission in wireless multimedia ad hoc networks. The average end‐to‐end delay of QoS‐MOLSR is four times less than the optimized link state routing. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Analysis of energy-tax for multipath routing in wireless sensor networks   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Recently, multipath routing in wireless sensor networks (WSN) has got immense research interest due to its capability of providing increased robustness, reliability, throughput, and security. However, a theoretical analysis on the energy consumption behavior of multipath routing has not yet been studied. In this paper, we present a general framework for analyzing the energy consumption overhead (i.e., energy tax) resulting from multipath routing protocol in WSN. The framework includes a baseline routing model, a network model, and two energy consumption schemes for sensor nodes, namely, periodic listening and selective wake-up schemes. It exploits the influence of node density, link failure rates, number of multiple paths, and transmission environment on the energy consumption. Scaling laws of energy-tax due to routing and data traffic are derived through analysis, which provide energy profiles of single-path and multipath routing and serve as a guideline for designing energy-efficient protocols for WSN. The crossover points of relative energy taxes, paid by single-path and multipath routing, reception, and transmission, are obtained. Finally, the scaling laws are validated and performance comparisons are depicted for a reference network via numerical results.  相似文献

Wireless sensor network consists of sensor nodes with battery operated device. The key challenges in the wireless sensor network are energy consumption and routing optimization. This work presents the cluster based load balancing (CBLB) routing protocol. The proposed routing protocol is used to minimize the energy consumption and increase the routing performance. It avoids the routing robustness, delay and increases the delivery rate and network performance. In existing techniques, different routing protocols such as LEACH, HEED and MESTER were used to increase the network performance and to decrease the energy consumption. But these existing techniques did not satisfy the performance requirements of wireless sensor networks. Hence, there is a requirement to develop a technique that meets the QoS requirements and needs of wireless sensor network. The proposed CBLB routing protocol creates a cluster head in the decentralized network and the cluster head will be used to distribute the workload evenly to the cluster members for reducing the energy consumption in wireless sensor network. Experimental results analyze the performance of the proposed protocol with the different existing protocols. The proposed protocol achieves high throughput, delivery rate and reduces the energy consumption, delay and routing overhead.  相似文献

为了降低无线自组网按需平面距离矢量路由(AODV)协议在维护路由时广播参数中源地址和目的地址均为本节点地址的路由应答报文(HELLO消息)时的网络开销,提出了一种基于广播中继(MPR)的AODV路由协议改进方案,对AODV的HELLO消息机制进行了改进,并在NS2中对改进协议和原AODV协议进行了对比仿真。仿真结果证明:改进的AODV协议在网络吞吐量、端到端时延和丢包率方面均优于原AODV协议。  相似文献

Wireless sensor networks become very attractive in the research community, due to their applications in diverse fields such as military tracking, civilian applications and medical research, and more generally in systems of systems. Routing is an important issue in wireless sensor networks due to the use of computationally and resource limited sensor nodes. Any routing protocol designed for use in wireless sensor networks should be energy efficient and should increase the network lifetime. In this paper, we propose an efficient and highly reliable query-driven routing protocol for wireless sensor networks. Our protocol provides the best theoretical energy aware routes to reach any node in the network and routes the request and reply packets with a lightweight overhead. We perform an overall evaluation of our protocol through simulations with comparison to other routing protocols. The results demonstrate the efficiency of our protocol in terms of energy consumption, load balancing of routes, and network lifetime.  相似文献

With respect to the inherent advantages of multipath routing, nowadays multipath routing is known as an efficient mechanism to provide even network resource utilization and efficient data transmission in different networks. In this context, several multipath routing protocols have been developed over the past years. However, due to the time-varying characteristics of low-power wireless communications and broadcast nature of radio channel, performance benefits of traffic distribution over multiple paths in wireless sensor networks are less obvious. Motivated by the drawbacks of the existing multipath routing protocols, this paper presents an Interference-Minimized MultiPath Routing protocol (IM2PR) which aims to discover a sufficient number of minimum interfering paths with high data transmission quality between each event area and sink node in order to provide efficient event data packet forwarding in event-driven wireless sensor networks. Extensive performance evaluations show that IM2PR presents improvements over the Micro Sensor Multipath Routing Protocol and Energy-Efficient data Routing Protocol as follows: 50 and 70 % in term of packet reception ratio at the sink, 44 and 80 % in term of goodput, 33 and 40 % in term of packet delivery latency, 40 and 57 % in term of energy consumption, 50 and 60 % in term of packet delivery overhead.  相似文献

Increasing popularity and availability of portable wireless devices, which constitute mobile ad hoc networks, calls for scalable ad hoc routing protocols. On-demand routing protocols adapt well with dynamic topologies of ad hoc networks, because of their lower control overhead and quick response to route breaks. But, as the size of the network increases, these protocols cease to perform due to large routing overhead generated while repairing route breaks. We propose a multipath on-demand routing protocol (SMORT), which reduces the routing overhead incurred in recovering from route breaks, by using secondary paths. SMORT computes fail-safe multiple paths, which provide all the intermediate nodes on the primary path with multiple routes (if exists) to destination. Exhaustive simulations using GloMoSim with large networks (2000 nodes) confirm that SMORT is scalable, and performs better even at higher mobility and traffic loads, when compared to the disjoint multipath routing protocol (DMRP) and ad hoc on-demand distance vector (AODV) routing protocol.  相似文献

研究了AODV路由协议,分析了多路径路由实现机制,提出了一种可应用于无线多媒体传感器网络的能量均衡多路径AODV路由协议。该协议建立从源节点到目的节点的多条路径,在路径的选择上综合考虑了路径跳数和节点剩余能量,用以保证负载均衡,延长网络生存期,该算法使用了分流的方式避免拥塞。通过使用NS2仿真软件对EEMP-AODV路由协议进行仿真,结果显示其在拥塞避免、实时性、吞吐量和网络生存期方面的性能有明显提升。  相似文献

空中异构战术无线网络由多种不同类型的无线数据链网络构成,IP通信技术可有效解决空中平台异构无线网络的互联互通问题。给出了空中异构战术无线网络模型,并根据不同类型的无线数据链网络特点,分析了端到端通信协议栈关系以及不同无线数据链网络间协议转换与适配方式。探讨了网络静态和动态IP地址分配方法以及网络的路由架构与寻址方式,提出了不同无线数据链网络间IP报文传输的打包方式。对传输的开销性能仿真对比分析表明,基于通用成帧协议的打包方式的协议开销性能较优。  相似文献

The energy consumption is a key design criterion for the routing protocols in wireless sensor networks (WSN). Some of the conventional single path routing schemes may not be optimal to maximize the network lifetime and connectivity. Thus, multipath routing schemes is an optimal alternative to extend the lifetime of WSN. Multipath routing schemes distribute the traffic across multiple paths instead of routing all the traffic along a single path. In this paper, we propose a multipath Energy-Efficient data Routing Protocol for wireless sensor networks (EERP). The latter keeps a set of good paths and chooses one based on the node state and the cost function of this path. In EERP, each node has a number of neighbours through which it can route packets to the base station. A node bases its routing decision on two metrics: state and cost function. It searches its Neighbours Information Table for all its neighbours concerned with minimum cost function. Simulation results show that our EERP protocol minimizes and balances the energy consumption well among all sensor nodes and achieves an obvious improvement on the network lifetime.  相似文献

With rapid development of wireless communication, sensor, micro power system and electronic technology, the research on wireless sensor network has attracted more and more attention. The work proposed routing algorithm in wireless sensor network based on ant colony optimization by analyzing routing protocol and utilizing advanced idea. Ant colony optimization algorithm has advantages in implementing local work, supporting multiple paths and integrating link quality into pheromone formation. In routing selection, the work calculated probability that node is selected as the next hop according to pheromone concentration on the path. With characteristics including self-organization, dynamic and multipath, ant colony optimization algorithm is suitable for routing in wireless sensor network. With low routing cost, good adaptability and multipath, the algorithm balanced energy consumption to prolong network lifetime. In terms of simulation and experiments, ant colony algorithm was proved to be suitable for finding optimal routing in wireless sensor network, thus achieving design goal of routing algorithm.  相似文献

Greedy geographic routing is attractive in wireless sensor networks because of its efficiency and scalability. This paper presents an up-down links dualpath greedy routing (UDLDGR) protocol for wireless sensor networks. The routing protocol not only reserves the features of greedy forwarding algorithm, which is simple, efficient, but also uses different relay nodes to serve as routing nodes for up and down routing paths, makes the energy consumption more balanced. The greatest advantage of UDLDGR is it trades off only small cost for the source node to obtain two different transmission paths information. The multipath strengthens the network reliability, such as load balancing and robustness to failures. Our simulation results show that UDLDGR can improve system lifetime by 20–100% compared to single path approaches.  相似文献

Because the node energy and network resources in the wireless sensor network (WSN) are very finite, it is necessary to distribute data traffic reasonably and achieve network load balancing. Ad hoc on‐demand multipath distance vector (AOMDV) is a widely used routing protocol in WSN, but it has some deficiencies: establishes the route by only using hop counts as the routing criterion without considering other factors such as energy consumption and network load; forwards route request in fixed delay resulting in building the nonoptimal path; and cannot update the path status after built paths. For the deficiency of AOMDV, this paper proposes a multipath routing protocol adaptive energy and queue AOMDV (AEQAOMDV) based on adaptively sensing node residual energy and buffer queue length. When sending a routing request, the forwarding delay of the routing request is adaptively adjusted by both the residual energy and the queue length of the intermediate node; when establishing routes, a fitness is defined as a routing criterion according to the link energy and the queue load, predicting the available duration of the node based on the energy consumption rate and adjusting the weight of the routing criterion by the available duration of the node; after the routes are established, the path information status are updated via periodically broadcasting Hello that carries the path information with the minimum fitness, making the source node update the path information periodically. By using NS‐2, simulations demonstrate that compared with AOMDV, AEQAOMDV has obvious improvements in increasing packet delivery ratio, reducing network routing overhead, reducing route discovery frequency, and decreasing the network delay. And AEQAOMDV is more suitable for WSN.  相似文献

Among the many multipath routing protocols, the AOMDV is widely used in highly dynamic ad hoc networks because of its generic feature. Since the communicating nodes in AOMDV are prone to link failures and route breaks due to the selection of multiple routes between any source and destination pair based on minimal hop count which does not ensure end-to-end reliable data transmission. To overcome such problems, we propose a novel node disjoint multipath routing protocol called End-to-End Link Reliable Energy Efficient Multipath Routing (E2E-LREEMR) protocol by extending AOMDV. The E2E-LREEMR finds multiple link reliable energy efficient paths between any source and destination pair for data transmission using two metrics such as Path-Link Quality Estimator and Path-Node Energy Estimator. We evaluate the performance of E2E-LREEMR protocol using NS 2.34 with varying network flows under random way-point mobility model and compare it with AOMDV routing protocol in terms of Quality of Service metrics. When there is a hike in network flows, the E2E-LREEMR reduces 30.43 % of average end-to-end delay, 29.44 % of routing overhead, 32.65 % of packet loss ratio, 18.79 % of normalized routing overhead and 12.87 % of energy consumption. It also increases rather 10.26 % of packet delivery ratio and 6.96 % of throughput than AOMDV routing protocol.  相似文献

Recently, flying ad hoc networks (FANETs) has become a core research area in wireless networks that involves multiple unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). It is widely used in modern warfare for surveillance, monitoring and reconnaissance. The routing in FANETs poses a more significant challenge due to limited energy and frequent link disconnection between the UAVs. Consequently, an effective route is always required to ensure data transmission between UAVs. Therefore, this research proposes a link-optimized cone-assisted location (LoCaL) routing protocol for FANETs. The main goal of the proposed LoCaL is to enhance the link duration between the UAVs in which a source selects a forwarding UAV from a given set of neighbours by estimating the residual energy, link duration time and safety degree parameters. Proposed LoCaL provides better stability and less frequent route breaks between source and destination. Further, the mathematical formulation of the proposed approach is presented through the utility function to enhance the route stability by selecting all those relay UAVs in the cone-shaped request zone, which reduces the routing overhead in discovering the route. Finally, the performance of the LoCaL has been presented through key indicators such as energy consumption, routing overhead, message delivery ratio, network lifetime and delay compared to the existing approaches.  相似文献

In challenged networks such as Wireless Sensor Networks, limitations such as nodes mobility, short radio range and sparse network density can prevent communications among nodes. Consequently, it can result in long delays in exchanging messages among nodes. Designing Delay-Tolerant Networks is considered to be an approach for dealing with lengthy breakdown of communication between nodes. Using multi-replica methods seems rational for these networks. However, a majority of these methods inject a large amount of replications of a message in the network so as to enhance message delivery probability which consequently leads to the loss of energy and reduction of network efficiency. Two major issues should be considered to achieve data delivery in such challenging networking environments: a routing strategy for the network and a buffer management policy. This study proposes a new routing protocol called Fuzzy-Logic based Distance and Energy Aware Routing protocol (FLDEAR) in delay tolerant mobile sensor network. A FLDEAR is a distance and energy aware protocol that reduces the number of message replications and uses two fuzzy inference systems in routing and buffer management. The results of conducted simulations indicated that this routing algorithm can be used for enhancing data packet delivery ratios and reducing data transmission overhead than several current Delay-Tolerant Mobile Sensor Networks routing protocols.  相似文献

通过对AOMDV多径协议进行改进,提出了一种基于节点剩余能量策略MMBCR的多径协议(EAOMDV)。改进协议以节点剩余能量为备份路径的度量对AOMDV多径协议进行改进。使用NS2软件进行仿真,通过改变节点的暂停时间来比较EAOMDV协议和AOMDV协议的性能。仿真结果表明,与AOMDV多径协议相比,新协议路由开销和丢包率有所增加,但降低了网络的总能耗并减少了某时刻耗尽能量的节点数目,从而延长了网络的存活时间。  相似文献

An ad hoc network is a collection of wireless devices forming a temporary network independently of any administration or fixed infrastructure. The main benefits of this new generation of mobile networks are flexibility and their low cost. Wireless devices have maximum utility when they can be used “anywhere at anytime “. However, one of the greatest limitations to that goal is the finite power supplies. Since batteries provide limited power, a general constraint of wireless communication is the short continuous operation time of mobile terminals. This constraint is more important for the ad hoc networks, since every terminal has to perform the functions of a router. Therefore, energy consumption should be a crucial issue while designing new communication protocols and particularly ad hoc routing protocols. We propose, in this paper, some extensions to the most important on-demand routing algorithm,Aodv (Ad hoc On demand Distance Vector). The discovery mechanism in these extensions uses energy as a routing metric. These algorithms improve the network survivability by maintaining the network connectivity, which is the strong requirement for a high-quality communication. They carry out this objective with low message overhead for computing routes and without affecting the other network protocol layers.  相似文献
