Target tracking is one of the main applications of wireless sensor networks. Optimized computation and energy dissipation are critical requirements to save the limited resource of the sensor nodes. A framework and analysis for collaborative tracking via particle filter are presented in this paper Collaborative tracking is implemented through sensor selection, and results of tracking are propagated among sensor nodes. In order to save communication resources, a new Gaussian sum particle filter, called Gaussian sum quasi particle filter, to perform the target tracking is presented, in which only mean and covariance of mixands need to be communicated. Based on the Gaussian sum quasi particle filter, a sensor selection criterion is proposed, which is computationally much simpler than other sensor selection criterions. Simulation results show that the proposed method works well for target tracking.  相似文献

Energy constraint is an important issue in wireless sensor networks. This paper proposes a distributed energy optimization method for target tracking applications. Sensor nodes are clustered by maximum entropy clustering. Then, the sensing field is divided for parallel sensor deployment optimization. For each cluster, the coverage and energy metrics are calculated by grid exclusion algorithm and Dijkstra's algorithm, respectively. Cluster heads perform parallel particle swarm optimization to maximize the coverage metric and minimize the energy metric. Particle filter is improved by combining the radial basis function network, which constructs the process model. Thus, the target position is predicted by the improved particle filter. Dynamic awakening and optimal sensing scheme are then discussed in dynamic energy management mechanism. A group of sensor nodes which are located in the vicinity of the target will be awakened up and have the opportunity to report their data. The selection of sensor node is optimized considering sensing accuracy and energy consumption. Experimental results verify that energy efficiency of wireless sensor network is enhanced by parallel particle swarm optimization, dynamic awakening approach, and sensor node selection.  相似文献

Due to uncertainties in target motion and randomness of deployed sensor nodes, the problem of imbalance of energy consumption arises from sensor scheduling. This paper presents an energy‐efficient adaptive sensor scheduling for a target monitoring algorithm in a local monitoring region of wireless sensor networks. Owing to excessive scheduling of an individual node, one node with a high value generated by a decision function is preferentially selected as a tasking node to balance the local energy consumption of a dynamic clustering, and the node with the highest value is chosen as the cluster head. Others with lower ones are in reserve. In addition, an optimization problem is derived to satisfy the problem of sensor scheduling subject to the joint detection probability for tasking sensors. Particles of the target in particle filter algorithm are resampled for a higher tracking accuracy. Simulation results show this algorithm can improve the required tracking accuracy, and nodes are efficiently scheduled. Hence, there is a 41.67% savings in energy consumption.  相似文献

In this paper, we address the problem of genetic algorithm optimization for jointly selecting the best group of candidate sensors and optimizing the quantization for target tracking in wireless sensor networks. We focus on a more challenging problem of how to effectively utilize quantized sensor measurement for target tracking in sensor networks by considering best group of candidate sensors selection problem. The main objective of this paper is twofold. Firstly, the quantization level and the group of candidate sensors selection are to be optimized in order to provide the required data of the target and to balance the energy dissipation in the wireless sensor network. Secondly, the target position is to be estimated using quantized variational filtering (QVF) algorithm. The optimization of quantization and sensor selection are based on the Fast and Elitist Multi-objective Genetic Algorithm (NSGA-II). The proposed multi-objective (MO) function defines the main parameters that may influence the relevance of the participation in cooperation for target tracking and the transmitting power between one sensor and the cluster head (CH). The proposed algorithm is designed to: i) avoid the problem lot of computing times and operation counts, and ii) reduce the communication cost and the estimation error, which leads to a significant reduction of energy consumption and an accurate target tracking. The computation of these criteria is based on the predictive information provided by the QVF algorithm. The simulation results show that the NSGA-II -based QVF algorithm outperforms the standard quantized variational filtering algorithm and the centralized quantized particle filter.  相似文献

针对实际应用条件下传感器节点的观测数据与目标动态参数间呈现为非线性关系的特性,提出了一种基于粒子群优化和M-H抽样粒子滤波的传感器网络目标跟踪方法。该方法采用分布式结构,在动态网络拓扑结构下,由粒子群优化和M-H抽样技术实现滤波中的重抽样过程,抑制粒子退化现象,并通过粒子间共享历史信息,降低单个粒子历史状态间的相关性使各粒子能快速收敛至最优分布,从而实现高精度的目标跟踪效果。仿真结果表明,相比现有的基于信息粒子滤波和并行粒子滤波技术的传感器网络目标跟踪方法,所提出的方法能降低网络总能耗,同时保证目标跟踪的精度。  相似文献

Today, underwater target tracking using underwater wireless sensor networks (UWSNs) is an essential part in many military and non-military applications. Most of moving target tracking studies in UWSNs are considered in two-dimensional space. However, most practical applications require to be implemented in three-dimensional space. In this paper an adaptive method based on Kalman filter for moving target tracking in three dimensional space using UWSNs is proposed. Since, energy protection is a vital task in UWSNs; the proposed method reduces the energy consumption of the entire network by a sleep/wake plan. In this plan only 60% of the closer nodes along the path of the moving target will be waked up using a sink activation message and participate in the tracking, while the other nodes remain in sleep state. At each stage of tracking, the location of the target is estimated using a 3D underwater target tracking algorithm with the trilateration method. Subsequently, the estimations and target tracking results are inserted into the Kalman filter as measuring model to produce the final result. Performance evaluation and simulations results indicated that the proposed method improves the average location error by 45%, average estimated velocity by 86%, and average energy consumption by 33% in comparison to the trilateration method. However, computation time is increased as a result of improving tracking accuracy; and tracking accuracy is lost about 20% due to saving energy. It was shown that the proposed method has been able to adaptively achieve a trade-off between tracking accuracy and energy consumption based on real-time user requirements. Such adaption can be controlled trough the sink node based on real-time requirements.  相似文献

针对无线传感器网络中节点通信能力及能量有限的情况,该文提出基于动态分簇路由优化和分布式粒子滤波的传感器网络目标跟踪方法。该方法以动态分簇的方式将监测区域内随机部署的传感器节点划分为若干个簇,并对簇内成员节点与簇首节点之间、簇首节点与基站之间的通信路由进行优化,确保网络能耗的均衡分布,在此基础上,被激活的簇内成员节点并行地执行分布式粒子滤波算法实现目标跟踪。仿真结果表明,该方法能有效地降低传感器网络中节点的总能耗,能在实现跟踪的同时保证目标跟踪的精度。  相似文献

Energy consumption is one of the main challenges in wireless sensor networks. Additionally, in target tracking algorithms, it is expected to have a longer lifetime for the network, when a better prediction algorithm is employed, since it activates fewer sensors in the network. Most target tracking methods activate a large number of nodes in sensor networks. This paper proposes a new tracking algorithm reducing the number of active nodes in both positioning and tracking by predicting the target deployment area in the next time interval according to some factors including the previous location of the target, the current speed and acceleration of the target without reducing the tracking performance. The proposed algorithm activates the sensor nodes available in the target area by predicting the target position in the next time interval. The problem of target loss is also considered and solved in the proposed tracking algorithm. In the numerical analysis, the number of nodes involved in target tracking, energy consumption and the network lifetime are compared with other tracking algorithms to show superiority of the proposed algorithm.  相似文献

Energy consumption of sensor nodes is one of the crucial issues in prolonging the lifetime of wireless sensor networks. One of the methods that can improve the utilization of sensor nodes batteries is the clustering method. In this paper, we propose a green clustering protocol for mobile sensor networks using particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. We define a new fitness function that can optimize the energy consumption of the whole network and minimize the relative distance between cluster heads and their respective member nodes. We also take into account the mobility factor when defining the cluster membership, so that the sensor nodes can join the cluster that has the similar mobility pattern. The performance of the proposed protocol is compared with well-known clustering protocols developed for wireless sensor networks such as LEACH (low-energy adaptive clustering hierarchy) and protocols designed for sensor networks with mobile nodes called CM-IR (clustering mobility-invalid round). In addition, we also modify the improved version of LEACH called MLEACH-C, so that it is applicable to the mobile sensor nodes environment. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed protocol using PSO algorithm can improve the energy consumption of the network, achieve better network lifetime, and increase the data delivered at the base station.  相似文献

For target tracking applications, wireless sensor nodes provide accurate information since they can be deployed and operated near the phenomenon. These sensing devices have the opportunity of collaboration among themselves to improve the target localization and tracking accuracies. An energy-efficient collaborative target tracking paradigm is developed for wireless sensor networks (WSNs). A mutual-information-based sensor selection (MISS) algorithm is adopted for participation in the fusion process. MISS allows the sensor nodes with the highest mutual information about the target state to transmit data so that the energy consumption is reduced while the desired target position estimation accuracy is met. In addition, a novel approach to energy savings in WSNs is devised in the information-controlled transmission power (ICTP) adjustment, where nodes with more information use higher transmission powers than those that are less informative to share their target state information with the neighboring nodes. Simulations demonstrate the performance gains offered by MISS and ICTP in terms of power consumption and target localization accuracy.  相似文献

In this paper, a distributed multi-target tracking (MTT) algorithm suitable for implementation in wireless sensor networks is proposed. For this purpose, the Monte Carlo (MC) implementation of joint probabilistic data-association filter (JPDAF) is applied to the well-known problem of multi-target tracking in a cluttered area. Also, to make the tracking algorithm scalable and usable for sensor networks of many nodes, the distributed expectation maximization algorithm is exploited via the average consensus filter, in order to diffuse the nodes’ information over the whole network. The proposed tracking system is robust and capable of modeling any state space with nonlinear and non-Gaussian models for target dynamics and measurement likelihood, since it uses the particle-filtering methods to extract samples from the desired distributions. To encounter the data-association problem that arises due to the unlabeled measurements in the presence of clutter, the well-known JPDAF algorithm is used. Furthermore, some simplifications and modifications are made to MC–JPDAF algorithm in order to reduce the computation complexity of the tracking system and make it suitable for low-energy sensor networks. Finally, the simulations of tracking tasks for a sample network are given.  相似文献

Wireless distributed sensor networks are important for a number of strategic applications such as coordinated target detection, surveillance, and localization. Energy is a critical resource in wireless sensor networks and system lifetime needs to be prolonged through the use of energy-conscious sensing strategies during system operation. We propose an energy-aware target detection and localization strategy for cluster-based wireless sensor networks. The proposed method is based on an a posteriori algorithm with a two-step communication protocol between the cluster head and the sensors within the cluster. Based on a limited amount of data received from the sensor nodes, the cluster head executes a localization procedure to determine the subset of sensors that must be queried for detailed target information. This approach reduces both energy consumption and communication bandwidth requirements, and prolongs the lifetime of the wireless sensor network. Simulation results show that a large amount of energy is saved during target localization using this strategy.  相似文献

Target tracking is one of the most popular applications of the wireless sensor networks. It can be accomplished using different approaches and algorithms, one of which is the spatiotemporal multicast protocol, called “mobicast”. In this protocol, it is assumed that the area around the moving target, called the delivery zone, is known at any given time during the operation of the network. The aim of the protocol is to awake sensor nodes, which will be within the delivery zone in the near future, to be prepared for tracking the approaching moving target. In this paper, we propose a novel mobicast algorithm, aiming at reducing the number of awakened sensor nodes. To this end, we equipped every sensor node with a learning automaton, which helps the node in determining the sensor nodes it must awaken. To evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, several experiments have been conducted. The results have shown that the proposed algorithm can significantly outperform other existing algorithms such as forward-zone constrained and FAR in terms of energy consumption, number of active nodes, number of exchanged packets and slack time.  相似文献

In the wireless sensor networks, high efficient data routing for the limited energy resource networks is an important issue. By introducing Ant-colony algorithm, this paper proposes the wireless sensor network routing algorithm based on LEACH. During the construction of sensor network clusters, to avoid the node premature death because of the energy consumption, only the nodes whose residual energy is higher than the average energy can be chosen as the cluster heads. The method of repeated division is used to divide the clusters in sensor networks so that the numbers of the nodes in each cluster are balanced. The basic thought of ant-colony algorithm is adopted to realize the data routing between the cluster heads and sink nodes, and the maintenance of routing. The analysis and simulation showed that the proposed routing protocol not only can reduce the energy consumption, balance the energy consumption between nodes, but also prolong the network lifetime.  相似文献

3D wireless sensor network (3D-WSN) has attracted significant interests in recent years due to its applications in various disciplinary fields such as target detection, object tracking, and security surveillance. An important problem in 3D WSN is the sensor energy optimization which determines a topology of sensors to prolong the network lifetime and energy expenditure. The existing methods for dealing with this matter namely low energy adaptive clustering hierarchy, LEACH-centralized, K-Means, single hop clustering and energy efficient protocol, hybrid-LEACH and fuzzy C-means organize the networks into clusters where non-cluster head nodes mainly carry out sensing tasks and send the information to the cluster head, while cluster head collect data from other nodes and send to the base station (BS). Although these algorithms reduce the total energy consumption of the network, they also create a large number of network disconnect which refers to the number of sensors that cannot connect to its cluster head and the number of cluster heads that cannot connect to the BS. In this paper, we propose a method based on fuzzy clustering and particle swarm optimization to handle this problem. Experimental validation on real 3D datasets indicates that the proposed method is better than the existing methods.  相似文献

Reducing the energy consumption of network nodes is one of the most important problems for routing in wireless sensor networks because of the battery limitation in each sensor. This paper presents a new ant colony optimization based routing algorithm that uses special parameters in its competency function for reducing energy consumption of network nodes. In this new proposed algorithm called life time aware routing algorithm for wireless sensor networks (LTAWSN), a new pheromone update operator was designed to integrate energy consumption and hops into routing choice. Finally, with the results of the multiple simulations we were able to show that LTAWSN, in comparison with the previous ant colony based routing algorithm, energy aware ant colony routing algorithms for the routing of wireless sensor networks, ant colony optimization-based location-aware routing algorithm for wireless sensor networks and traditional ant colony algorithm, increase the efficiency of the system, obtains more balanced transmission among the nodes and reduce the energy consumption of the routing and extends the network lifetime.  相似文献

针对具有有限感知范围的无线传感器网络中的动态目标跟踪问题,提出了一种将卡尔曼一致滤波和动态集群自组织相结合的协作式动态目标跟踪算法。首先,算法采用一个由群头挑选阶段和集群重新配置阶段构成的动态集群协议来限制参与目标状态估计过程中节点间的信息交换,然后用一个分布式加权估计预测算法即卡尔曼一致滤波来估计目标状态并预测其下一个位置,这样有助于唤醒最合适的节点来进行目标跟踪并最恰当地组织网络通信,而其他节点保持在睡眠状态。仿真结果表明,提出的算法相比于集中式和其他2种常用的分布式动态目标跟踪算法,不仅能够降低网络的平均能耗,而且能够明显提高跟踪过程中的误差估计质量。  相似文献

Data gathering is a major function of many applications in wireless sensor networks. The most important issue in designing a data gathering algorithm is how to save energy of sensor nodes while meeting the requirements of special applications or users. Wireless sensor networks are characterized by centralized data gathering, multi-hop communication and many to one traffic pattern. These three characteristics can lead to severe packet collision, network congestion and packet loss, and even result in hot-spots of energy consumption thus causing premature death of sensor nodes and entire network. In this paper, we propose a load balance data gathering algorithm that classifies sensor nodes into different layers according to their distance to sink node and furthermore, divides the sense zone into several clusters. Routing trees are established between sensor node and sink depending on the energy metric and communication cost. For saving energy consumption, the target of data aggregation scheme is adopted as well. Analysis and simulation results show that the algorithm we proposed provides more uniform energy consumption among sensor nodes and can prolong the lifetime of sensor networks.  相似文献
