The antimicrobial activities of a series of bis-quaternary ammonium compounds

A series of bis-quaternary ammonium compounds(bis-QACs) N,N’-hevamethylenebis(1-alkyl-4-carbamoyl pyridinium bromide)(4BCAP-6,n)(alkyl chain length,n=8,10,12,14,16 and 18) were synthesized and characterized.Their surface tensions,critical micelle concentrations(CMC),and antimicrobial activities were evaluated.4BCAP-6,10 exhibited the strongest antimicrobial activities except for that against Proteus vulgari.The activities of 4BCAP-6.n against Escherichia coli zk126 were not significantly influenced by temperature.pH and initial bacteria concentration.These results indicate that bis-QACs exhibit high antimicrobial activity regardless of the environmental conditions.     

Compact multiband left-handed metamaterial at terahertz frequencies

We design and analyze a novel multiband left-handed metamaterial based on a fishnet-like structure at terahertz (THz) frequencies.The metamaterial exhibits simultaneous negative refractions around the frequencies of 0.48,1.05,and 1.19 THz for the electromagnetic (EM) wave normal incidence,and around the frequencies of 0.20,0.79,and 1.13 THz for parallel incidence.The simulated results verify the left-handed properties.A particularly important observation is the capability of the proposed metamaterial with a single geometrical structure to display multifrequency operations in a unit cell.The compact metamaterial is a major step toward the miniaturization of THz materials and devices suitable for multifrequencies.

围绕输液管的非线性振动、分叉与混沌问题，对近几年来的主要研究工作加以综述并提出预测，其中包括运动方程中非线性项的归纳与讨论、非线性动力分析的一些现代计算方法、定常流速下输液管的分叉与混沌行为、振荡流速下输液管的参数共振以及今后值得进一步研究的某些问题．     

扩展重要抽样法及其在平尾转轴可靠性分析中的应用

提出了扩展重要抽样法，用以计算结构系统的多个失效模式中含有不全相同基本随机变量时的系统失效概率。通过构造扩展重要抽样法的抽样密度函数，给出该方法失效概率的估计值，以及其方差和变异系数的计算公式。并将此方法用于某型飞机平尾转轴的可靠性分析，算例结果表明其优越性。     

流固耦合介质轴对称动力问题解法的改进

用直接求解常微分方程组解文［１］所得的控制方程，减少了传递矩阵计算工作量，避免了子阵求逆，使问题的求解得到了简化     

Fast multipole accelerated boundary element method for the Helmholtz equation in acoustic scattering problems

We apply the fast multipole method (FMM) accelerated boundary element method (BEM) for the three-dimensional (3D) Helmholtz equation, and as a result, large-scale acoustic scattering problems involving 400000 elements are solved efficiently. This is an extension of the fast multipole BEM for two-dimensional (2D) acoustic problems developed by authors recently. Some new improvements are obtained. In this new technique, the improved Burton-Miller formulation is employed to over-come non-uniqueness difficultie...     

Normal scalar curvature and a pinching theorem in S~m×R and H~m×R

We obtain an inequality in Sm×R and Hm×R which is similar to DDVV conjecture.As an application,we show that a minimal submanifold in H m×R with nonnegative scalar curvature must be a surface of the type γ×R,where γ is a geodesic in H m.In addition,we get a pinching theorem in Sm×R.     

Heavy tails of a Lévy process and its maximum over a random time interval

Let {Xt,t0} be a Lévy process with Lévy measure ν on(∞,∞),and let τ be a nonnegative random variable independent of {Xt,t0}.We are interested in the tail probabilities of X τ and X(τ) = sup0≤t≤τXt.For various cases,under the assumption that either the Lévy measure ν or the random variable τ has a heavy right tail we prove that both Pr(X τ > x) and Pr(X(τ) > x) are asymptotic to Eτν((x,∞)) + Pr(τ > x/(0 ∨ EX 1)) as x →∞,where Pr(τ > x/0) = 0 by convention.     

Distributions and correlations of constituent quarks in jets

In the frame of the quark recombination model, we study the momentum distributions and correlations of constituent quarks in jets by analyzing the final state hadrons generated by PYTHIA for the hard parton fragmentation processes in vacuum. Parameterizations for the distributions are tabulated.
