We show that Perelman’s ${\mathcal{W}}$ functional on Kähler manifolds has a natural counterpart on Sasaki manifolds. We prove, using this functional, that Perelman’s results on Kähler–Ricci flow (the first Chern class is positive) can be generalized to Sasaki–Ricci flow, including the uniform bound on the diameter and the scalar curvature along the flow. We also show that positivity of transverse bisectional curvature is preserved along Sasaki–Ricci flow, using Bando and Mok’s methods and results in Kähler–Ricci flow. In particular, we show that the Sasaki–Ricci flow converges to a Sasaki–Ricci soliton when the initial metric has nonnegative transverse bisectional curvature.  相似文献

In this article we study the metric property and the function theory of asymptotically locally Euclidean (ALE) Kähler manifolds. In particular, we prove the Ricci flatness under the assumption that the Ricci curvature of such manifolds is either nonnegative or nonpositive. The result provides a generalization of previous gap type theorems established by Greene and Wu, Mok, Siu and Yau, etc. It can also be thought of as a general positive mass type result. The method also proves the Liouville properties of plurisubharmonic functions on such manifolds. We also give a characterization of Ricci flatness of an ALE Kähler manifold with nonnegative Ricci curvature in terms of the structure of its cone at infinity.

We add two sections to [8] and answer some questions asked there. In the first section we give another derivation of Theorem 1.1 of [8], which reveals the relation between the entropy formula, (1.4) of [8], and the well-known Li-Yau ’s gradient estimate. As a by-product we obtain the sharp estimates on ‘Nash’s entropy’ for manifolds with nonnegative Ricci curvature. We also show that the equality holds in Li-Yau’s gradient estimate, for some positive solution to the heat equation, at some positive time, implies that the complete Riemannian manifold with nonnegative Ricci curvature is isometric to n .In the second section we derive a dual entropy formula which, to some degree, connects Hamilton’s entropy with Perelman ’s entropy in the case of Riemann surfaces.  相似文献

In this note, we obtain a sharp volume estimate for complete gradient Ricci solitons with scalar curvature bounded below by a positive constant. Using Chen-Yokota’s argument we obtain a local lower bound estimate of the scalar curvature for the Ricci flow on complete manifolds. Consequently, one has a sharp estimate of the scalar curvature for expanding Ricci solitons; we also provide a direct (elliptic) proof of this sharp estimate. Moreover, if the scalar curvature attains its minimum value at some point, then the manifold is Einstein.  相似文献

In this note we generalize the Huisken’s (J Diff Geom 21:47–62, 1985) result to Riemannian orbifolds. We show that on any n-dimensional (n ≥ 4) orbifold of positive scalar curvature the metric can be deformed into a metric of constant positive curvature, provided the norm of the Weyl conformal curvature tensor and the norm of the traceless Ricci tensor are not large compared to the scalar curvature at each point, and therefore generalize 3-orbifolds result proved by Hamilton [Three- orbifolds with positive Ricci curvature. We derive the entropy formula for the linear heat equation on general Riemannian manifolds and prove that it is monotone non-increasing on manifolds with nonnegative Ricci curvature. As applications, we study the relation between the value of entropy and the volume of balls of various scales. The results are simpler version, without Ricci flow, of Perelman ’s recent results on volume non-collapsing for Ricci flow on compact manifolds. We also prove that if the entropy for the heat kernel achieves its maximum value zero at some positive time, on any complete Riamannian manifold with nonnegative Ricci curvature, if and only if the manifold is isometric to the Euclidean space.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove that if M is a K?hler-Einstein surface with positive scalar curvature, if the initial metric has nonnegative sectional curvature, and the curvature is positive somewhere, then the K?hler-Ricci flow converges to a K?hler-Einstein metric with constant bisectional curvature. In a subsequent paper [7], we prove the same result for general K?hler-Einstein manifolds in all dimension. This gives an affirmative answer to a long standing problem in K?hler Ricci flow: On a compact K?hler-Einstein manifold, does the K?hler-Ricci flow converge to a K?hler-Einstein metric if the initial metric has a positive bisectional curvature? Our main method is to find a set of new functionals which are essentially decreasing under the K?hler Ricci flow while they have uniform lower bounds. We introduce the concept of a base conformal warped product of two pseudo-Riemannian manifolds. We also define a subclass of this structure called as a special base conformal warped product. After, we explicitly mention many of the relevant fields where metrics of these forms and also considerations about their curvature related properties play important rolls. Among others, we cite general relativity, extra-dimension, string and super-gravity theories as physical subjects and also the study of the spectrum of Laplace-Beltrami operators on p-forms in global analysis. Then, we give expressions for the Ricci tensor and scalar curvature of a base conformal warped product in terms of Ricci tensors and scalar curvatures of its base and fiber, respectively. Furthermore, we introduce specific identities verified by particular families of, either scalar or tensorial, nonlinear differential operators on pseudo-Riemannian manifolds. The latter allow us to obtain new interesting expressions for the Ricci tensor and scalar curvature of a special base conformal warped product and it turns out that not only the expressions but also the analytical approach used are interesting from the physical, geometrical and analytical point of view. Finally, we analyze, investigate and characterize possible solutions for the conformal and warping factors of a special base conformal warped product, which guarantee that the corresponding product is Einstein. Besides all, we apply these results to a generalization of the Schwarzschild metric.   相似文献

For a supergoup , we study closed -manifolds with positive conformal classes. We use the relative Yamabe invariant from [2] to define the conformal cobordism relation on the category of such manifolds. We prove that the corresponding conformal cobordism groups are isomorphic to the cobordism groups defined by Stolz in [19]. As a corollary, we show that the conformal concordance relation on positive conformal classes coincides with the standard concordance relation on positive scalar curvature metrics. Inspired by the recent work [HHM03], we prove two stability results for compact Riemannian manifolds with nonzero parallel spinors. Our first result says that Ricci flat metrics which also admit nonzero parallel spinors are stable (in the direction of changes in conformal structures) as the critical points of the total scalar curvature functional. Our second result, which is a local version of the first one, shows that any metric of positive scalar curvature cannot lie too close to a metric with nonzero parallel spinor. We also prove a rigidity result for special holonomy metrics. In the case of SU(m) holonomy, the rigidity result implies that scalar flat deformations of Calabi-Yau metric must be Calabi-Yau. Finally we explore the connection with a positive mass theorem of [D03], which presents another approach to proving these stability and rigidity results. In this paper we generalize the monotonicity formulas of “Colding (Acta Math 209:229–263, 2012)” for manifolds with nonnegative Ricci curvature. Monotone quantities play a key role in analysis and geometry; see, e.g., “Almgren (Preprint)”, “Colding and Minicozzi II (PNAS, 2012)”, “Garofalo and Lin (Indiana Univ Math 35:245–267, 1986)” for applications of monotonicity to uniqueness. Among the applications here is that level sets of Green’s function on open manifolds with nonnegative Ricci curvature are asymptotically umbilic.  相似文献

In this paper, we study complete noncompact Riemannian manifolds with Ricci curvature bounded from below. When the Ricci curvature is nonnegative, we show that this kind of manifolds are diffeomorphic to a Euclidean space, by assuming an upper bound on the radial curvature and a volume growth condition of their geodesic balls. When the Ricci curvature only has a lower bound, we also prove that such a manifold is diffeomorphic to a Euclidean space if the radial curvature is bounded from below. Moreover, by assuming different conditions and applying different methods, we shall prove more results on Riemannian manifolds with large volume growth.  相似文献

We consider second-order linear parabolic operators in non-divergence form that are intrinsically defined on Riemannian manifolds. In the elliptic case, Cabré proved a global Krylov-Safonov Harnack inequality under the assumption that the sectional curvature of the underlying manifold is nonnegative. Later, Kim improved Cabré’s result by replacing the curvature condition by a certain condition on the distance function. Assuming essentially the same condition introduced by Kim, we establish Krylov-Safonov Harnack inequality for nonnegative solutions of the non-divergent parabolic equation. This, in particular, gives a new proof for Li-Yau Harnack inequality for positive solutions to the heat equation in a manifold with nonnegative Ricci curvature.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove the local gradient estimate for harmonic functions on complete, noncompact Finsler measure spaces under the condition that the weighted Ricci curvature has a lower bound. In the first part of this paper, we prove the sharp global Li‐Yau type gradient estimates for positive solutions to doubly nonlinear diffusion equation(DNDE) on complete Riemannian manifolds with nonnegative Ricci curvature. As an application, one can obtain a parabolic Harnack inequality. In the second part, we obtain a Perelman‐type entropy monotonicity formula for DNDE on compact Riemannian manifolds with nonnegative Ricci curvature. These results generalize some works of Ni (JGA 2004), Lu–Ni–Vázquez–Villani (JMPA 2009) and Kotschwar–Ni (Annales Scientifiques de l'École Normale Supérieure 2009). In this paper we consider Hamilton's Ricci flow on a 3-manifold with a metric of positive scalar curvature. We establish several a priori estimates for the Ricci flow which we believe are important in understanding possible singularities of the Ricci flow. For Ricci flow with initial metric of positive scalar curvature, we obtain a sharp estimate on the norm of the Ricci curvature in terms of the scalar curvature (which is not trivial even if the initial metric has non-negative Ricci curvature, a fact which is essential in Hamilton's estimates [R.S. Hamilton, Three-manifolds with positive Ricci curvature, J. Differential Geom. 17 (1982) 255-306]), some L2-estimates for the gradients of the Ricci curvature, and finally the Harnack type estimates for the Ricci curvature. These results are established through careful (and rather complicated and lengthy) computations, integration by parts and the maximum principles for parabolic equations.  相似文献
