L 2-estimates of solutions of boundary value problems for equations with mixed elliptic-parabolic structure

For the linear equation L u=0 in which L is a product of a 2b₁-parabolic operator and a 2b₂r-elliptic operator (b₁, b₂, and r are integers), we obtain L₂-estimates for solutions of model boundary value problems, namely, for the Cauchy problem and the half-space problem. An unexpected reaction of 2-(cyclopent-2-enyl)aniline hydrochloride with dimethyldioxirane

An unusual direction of the reaction of 2-(cyclopent-2-enyl)aniline hydrochloride with dimethyldioxirane was found: the formation of two isomeric products,viz., 3- and 6-chloro-2-(cyclopent-2-enyl)anilines, was observed. Synthesis of Macrocyclic Pyrimidine Derivatives

A reaction was studied of previously unknown 1,3-bis(2-hydroxy-3-chloropropyl)uracil, 1,3-bis(2- hydroxy-3-chloropropyl)-6-methyluracil, and 1,3-bis(2-hydroxy-3-chloropropyl)-5-fluorouracil with 1,3-bis[3-(3-methyl-2H-5-pyrazolon-1-yl)-2-hydroxypropyl]-6-methyluracil.     

Synthesis of 2-(1,5,9-Triazabicyclo[7.3.1]tridec-10-en-5-yl)-4-methylthiobutanoic Acid Derivatives

Reactions of 1,3-bis(3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl)uracil, 1,3-bis(3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl)-6-methyluracil, 1,3-bis(3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl)-5-hydroxy-6-methyluracil, and 1,3-bis(3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl)-5-fluorouracil with 2-amino-4-methylthiobutanoic acid (methionine) were studied for the first time.     

Alkylation of Pyrimidine Derivatives with Chloroacetic Acid Esters

Alkylation of 6-methyluracil, 5-hydroxy-6-methyluracil, and 6-methyl-2,4-dioxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidin-5-ylammonium sulfate with isopropyl and ethyl chloroacetates afforded previously unknown alkyl 2-(6-methyl-2,4-dioxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidin-1-yl)acetates, alkyl 2-(1-alkoxycarbonylmethyl-6-methyl-2,4-dioxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidin-3-yl)acetates, 1,3-bis(alkoxycarbonylmethyl)-6-methyl-2,4-dioxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidin-5-ylammonium sulfates, and alkyl 2-[1,3-bis(alkoxycarbonylmethyl)-6-methyl-2,4-dioxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidin-5-yloxy]acetates.     

A facile method for the synthesis of 3,1-benzooxazines from N-acyl-2-(alk-2-enyl)anilines

Electrophilic addition of HCl or Br₂ to N-acyl-2-(alk-2-enyl)anilines is accompanied by intramolecular cyclization of these amides to give 3,1-benzooxazine hydrochlorides or hydrobromides in high yields.     

Synthesis of 2"-bromo-8-methylspiro(4H-3,1-benzooxazine-4,1"-cyclopentan)-2(1H)-one and 2-amino-2"-bromo-8-methylspiro(4H-3,1-benzooxazine-4,1"-cyclopentane) from 6-(cyclopent-1-enyl)-2-methylaniline

The reaction of 6-(cyclopent-1-enyl)-N-ethoxycarbonyl-2-methylaniline with Br₂ or its reaction with NH₃ followed by the reaction with Br₂ afforded 2"-bromo-8-methylspiro(4H-3,1-benzooxazine-4,1"-cyclopentan)-2(1H)-one and 2-amino-2"-bromo-8-methylspiro(4H-3,1-benzooxazine-4,1"-cyclopentane), respectively.     

Effect of argon on the multibubble sonoluminescence of cerium,terbium, and dysprosium trichlorides

The ultrasonic (20 kHz) multibubble sonoluminescence spectra of aqueous air- or argon-saturated solutions of CeCl₃, TbCl₃, and DyCl₃ were obtained. Saturation with argon leads to the intensity redistribution in the spectrum of the continuum with an increase in its short-wavelength part and increases the intensity of the characteristic emission of Ce³⁺ and Tb³⁺ due to the enhancement of the sonophotoluminescence intensity, i.e., the re-emission of the absorbed part of the continuum by these ions. The Ce³⁺, Tb³⁺, and Dy³⁺ ions quench the OH* emission at 310 nm with a qualitative correlation between the degree of quenching and the standard redox potentials of the pairs Ln^IV/Ln^III.
