Detailed photoproducts from photoirradiation of heterophasic ethylene-propylene copolymers and their fractions have been compared by infrared spectroscopy combined with chemical derivatization. The oxidized films were treated with gaseous NH3, SF4, and NO for the rapid identification and resolution of the various carbonyl species, alcohols, and hydroperoxides. The photoproduct formation depends upon the composition of the sample. The heterogeneities in thin films were also determined by micro FTIR spectroscopy. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

A cardiac transplant recipient with multiple coronary artery fistulae draining into the right ventricle is described. These fistulae presumably resulted from repeated endomyocardial biopsies. The diagnosis of coronary artery fistulae was made at the annual coronary arteriography. The magnitude of the shunt remained small over eight years of follow-up.  相似文献

Multidestination message passing has been proposed as an attractive mechanism for efficiently implementing multicast and other collective operations on direct networks. However, applying this mechanism to switch-based parallel systems is nontrivial. In this paper, we propose alternative switch architectures with differing buffer organizations to implement multidestination worms on switch-based parallel systems. First, we discuss issues related to such implementation (deadlock-freedom, replication mechanisms, header encoding, and routing). Next, we demonstrate how an existing central-buffer-based switch architecture supporting unicast message passing can be enhanced to accommodate multidestination message passing. Similarly, implementing multidestination worms on an input-buffer-based switch architecture is discussed, and two architectural alternatives are presented that reduce the wiring complexity in a practical switch implementation. The central-buffer-based and input-buffer-based implementations are evaluated against each other, as well as against the corresponding software-based schemes. Simulation experiments under a range of traffic (multiple multicast, bimodal, varying degree of multicast, and message length) and system size are used for evaluation. The study demonstrates the superiority of the central-buffer-based switch architecture. It also indicates that under bimodal traffic the central-buffer-based hardware multicast implementation affects background unicast traffic less adversely compared to a software-based multicast implementation. These results show that multidestination message passing can be applied easily and effectively to switch-based parallel systems to deliver good multicast and collective communication performance  相似文献

A new method and instrumentation are described for rapid compositional analysis of single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) samples. The customized optical system uses multiple fixed-wavelength lasers to excite NIR fluorescence from SWCNTs individualized in aqueous suspensions. The emission spectra are efficiently captured by a NIR spectrometer with InGaAs multichannel detector and then analyzed by a computer program that consults a database of SWCNT spectral parameters. The identities and relative abundances of semiconducting SWCNTs species are quickly deduced and displayed in graphs and tables. Results are found to be consistent with those based on manual interpretation of full excitation-emission scans from a conventional spectrofluorometer. The new instrument also measures absorption spectra using a broadband lamp and multichannel spectrometers, allowing samples to be automatically characterized by their emission efficiencies. The system provides rapid data acquisition and is sensitive enough to detect the fluorescence of a few picograms of SWCNTs in ~50 μL sample volumes.  相似文献

Summary The reactivity ratios of styrene and acrylonitrile were computed from the 13C-NMR spectra of copolymers prepared using cobalt acetylacetonate-triethylaluminum initiator system and compared with a free radical initiator such as AIBN. Summary Monomeric Bis-(4-hydroxybutyl) terephthalate has been synthesized and characterized. Titanium iso-propoxide has been found to be a superior catalyst for transesterification compared to metal acetates. Further polycondensation of Bis (HBT) yields poly (1,4-butylene terephthalate). The effect of various titanium derived catalysts on the polycondensation of Bis (HBT) has been studied. The catalytic efficiency of these derivatives is ascribed to their relative hydrolytic stability and the degree of interaction between the carbonyl oxygen and the metal.  相似文献

We demonstrate the continued growth of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) from ordered arrays of open-ended SWNTs in a way analogous to epitaxy. Nanometer-sized metal catalysts were docked to the SWNT open ends and subsequently activated to restart growth. SWNTs thus grown inherit the diameters and chirality from the seeded SWNTs, as indicated by the closely matched frequencies of Raman radial breathing modes before and after the growth.  相似文献

The scope and limitations of aluminum chloride bound to polystyrene matrix as an initiator in carbenium ion polymerizations have been studied and compared with the performance of free aluminum chloride in homogeneous solutions. Under comparable conditions, the resin-bound aluminum chloride is less efficient than free aluminum chloride; however, the molecular weights of polymers obtained from both classes of initiators are essentially similar.  相似文献
