A novel adaptive discriminative vector quantisation technique for speaker identification (ADVQSI) is introduced. In the training mode of ADVQSI, for each speaker, the speech feature vector space is divided into a number of subspaces. The feature space segmentation is based on the difference between the probability distribution of the speech feature vectors from each speaker and that from all speakers in the speaker identification (SI) group. Then, an optimal discriminative weight, which represents the subspace's role in SI, is calculated for each subspace of each speaker by employing adaptive techniques. The largest template differences between speakers in the SI group are achieved by using optimal discriminative weights. In the testing mode of ADVQSI, discriminative weighted average vector quantisation (VQ) distortions are used for SI decisions. The performance of ADVQSI is analysed and tested experimentally. The experimental results confirm the performance improvement employing the proposed technique in comparison with existing VQ techniques for SI and recently reported discriminative VQ techniques for SI (DVQSI)  相似文献

We evaluated 48 archival cases of acute erythroleukemia and divided them into 3 groups: M6a, corresponding to the traditional French-American-British M6 category; M6b, which is pure erythroleukemia; and M6c, in which myeloblasts and pronormoblasts each account for more than 30% of cells by the French-American-British exclusion criteria. No significant differences were noted among the subtypes for ratio of males to females; age; or exposure to toxins, alcohol, or both. However, compared with the patients in the M6a group, patients in the M6b and M6c groups demonstrated a statistically significant increase in cytogenetic aberrations, proliferation markers (proliferating cell nuclear antigen and Ki67), and ringed (type III) sideroblasts. Marked survival differences were noted between the M6a (30.1 +/- 29.5 months) and M6b (3.15 +/- 4.2 months) groups, with patients in the M6c group demonstrating an intermediate prognosis (10.5 +/- 12.7 months). Chemotherapeutic regimens induced remission in all treated patients in the M6a and M6c groups but did not appear to affect the M6b group. However, the patients in the M6c group remained in remission for a significantly shorter period of time than did patients in the M6a group. Overall, survival appeared to depend on the ratio of pronormoblasts to myeloblasts at diagnosis and demonstrated a rapid decline with increasing pronormoblast and decreasing myeloblast counts. We must, therefore, devise chemotherapeutic regimens that target both blastic components of this disease.  相似文献

A TiC-derived carbon (TiC-CDC) was prepared, and the adsorption of large hexacyanocobaltate and tetrabutylammonium ions of approximately same size was examined on this carbon. While selectively absorbing these large ions, it rejects smaller chloride and ammonium ions in mixed electrolyte solutions. The result demonstrates the important role of electrostatic repulsive forces, space-efficient charge packing and hydrophobic ion interactions with the pore walls of TiC-CDC, similar to what is known for a variety of biological membranes.  相似文献

Zinc oxide/polyvinylpyrrolidone (ZnO/PVP) nanocomposite fibers with enhanced structural, morphological and optical properties were purposefully tailored using electrospinning technique. Meanwhile, ZnO nanoparticles (NPs),with particle size of ~50 nm, were synthesized using a co-precipitation method. The nanocomposite fibers were prepared by an electrospun solution of PVP containing ZnO NPs of 2, 4, 6 and 8 wt%. Evidently, the morphological, thermal and optical properties of the ZnO/PVP nanocomposite fibers were enhanced by dispersing ZnO NPs into PVP fibers. Typically, controlling the ZnO NPs content and their dispersibility (0–8 wt%) into PVP fibers result in improved the thermal stability (an increase of onset decomposition temperature by ~120 °C above pure PVP fibers) as well as the UV–Vis protection (reduction in UV transmission by 70%) and the photoluminescence properties (a sharp UV emission around 380 nm) Overall, based on the enhanced properties, the PVP/ZnO nanocomposite fibers can be considered a promise material in optoelectronic sensors and UV photoconductor.  相似文献

Herein, we report the formation of α‐amylase containing polyelectrolyte complexes (PECs). The method for the encapsulation of α‐amylase is based on interactions between two oppositely charged polyelectrolytes, poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) and polyethylenimine (PEI). We could show that electrostatic interactions ensure the incorporation of the enzyme into the formed polyelectrolyte complexes. The encapsulation has no negative effect on enzyme activity and protects against denaturation of the enzyme initiated by low pH values. The resulting PECs are 150–250 nm in size with narrow size distribution, appear in a spherical shape and are colloidally stable. The complexation of both polyelectrolytes and the immobilization of α‐amylase are investigated using fractionating techniques mainly the analytical ultracentrifugation and asymmetrical‐flow field‐flow fractionation. The formation of PECs represents a simple method for the encapsulation of α‐amylase without the use of organic solvents and requires no additional purifications steps. This one‐step approach, yielding high encapsulation efficiencies, shows the potential as a drug delivery system for sensitive hydrophilic actives in future. α‐amylase is immobilized in polyelectrolyte complexes made of polyethylenimine and poly(acrylic acid). Optimized encapsulation conditions and the resulting polyelectrolyte complexes are investigated via determination of IEP, α‐amylase activity assays, nanoDSC measurements, zeta potential values, dynamic light scattering, microscopy, and fractionating techniques. Quadratic correlation filters (QCFs) have been used successfully to detect and recognize targets embedded in background clutter. Recently, a QCF called the Rayleigh quotient quadratic correlation filter (RQQCF) was formulated for automatic target recognition (ATR) in IR imagery. Using training images from target and clutter classes, the RQQCF explicitly maximized a class separation metric. What we believe to be a novel approach is presented for ATR that synthesizes the RQQCF using compressed images. The proposed approach considerably reduces the computational complexity and storage requirements while retaining the high recognition accuracy of the original RQQCF technique. The advantages of the proposed scheme are illustrated using sample results obtained from experiments on IR imagery.  相似文献

A new theoretical framework is proposed to explain the dose and dose-rate dependence of radiation-induced absorption in optical fibers. A first-order dispersive kinetics model is used to simulate the growth of the density of color centers during an irradiation. This model succeeds in explaining the enhanced low dose rate sensitivity observed in certain kinds of erbium-doped optical fiber and provides some insight into the physical reasons behind this sensitivity.  相似文献

Differentiation applied to lossless compression of medical images   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Lossless compression of medical images using a proposed differentiation technique is explored. This scheme is based on computing weighted differences between neighboring pixel values. The performance of the proposed approach, for the lossless compression of magnetic resonance (MR) images and ultrasonic images, is evaluated and compared with the lossless linear predictor and the lossless Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) standard. The residue sequence of these techniques is coded using arithmetic coding. The proposed scheme yields compression measures, in terms of bits per pixel, that are comparable with or lower than those obtained using the linear predictor and the lossless JPEG standard, respectively, with 8-b medical images. The advantages of the differentiation technique presented here over the linear predictor are: 1) the coefficients of the differentiator are known by the encoder and the decoder, which eliminates the need to compute or encode these coefficients, and 21 the computational complexity is greatly reduced. These advantages are particularly attractive in real time processing for compressing and decompressing medical images.  相似文献

Pseudocapacitance‐induced electrochemical actuators (EC‐actuators) have attracted great attention in robots and artificial intelligence technologies. Despite major efforts to design such EC‐actuators, a molecular‐level understanding of the deformation mechanism is still lacking. Here, a reversible deformation of a freestanding MnO2/Ni bilayer film is demonstrated and in situ electrochemical atomic force microscopy, in situ Raman spectroscopy, and density functional theory simulation are used to study the origin of the deformation. The results show that the electrochemical actuation of the MnO2/Ni film is highly related with the redox pseudocapacitive behavior of MnO2 layer. Valence state variation of Mn element, shortening and lengthening of Mn? O bond, and insertion and extraction of Na+ ions, which all result from the redox pseudocapacitance of MnO2 during charging and discharging, eventually lead to the reversible contraction and expansion of MnO2 morphology. Such action counters with the nonactive Ni layer, finally inducing the reversible deformation of the MnO2/Ni bilayer film. It is believed that the study can provide useful guidance to design better EC‐actuators in the future.  相似文献
