Results of a simulation study of the economics of frequency of rescheduling Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems are presented for a single-product, two-stage system in which demand is uncertain. The results indicate that for systems with moderate demand uncertainty, frequent rescheduling to maintain customer service may be uneconomical when compared with the alternative of more stable schedules in conjunction with safety stock. This result arises primarily because the cost of “emergency” production setups which occur when rescheduling is frequent exceeds the cost of safety stock required to “protect” stable schedules. 相似文献

As a critical technique to raise coding efficiency in H.265/HEVC (H.265/High Efficiency Video Coding), the number of prediction modes for intra coding is much larger than that in H.264/AVC. However, the large number of prediction modes also leads to high complexity. In this paper, an AR (Auto Regression) based fast mode decision method for H.265/HEVC intra coding is proposed, including an AR based fast mode selection and an MPM (Most Probable Mode) joint fast mode selection method. Considering the correlation between SATD (Sum of Absolute Transformed Differences) cost and RD (Rate-Distortion) cost, we establish a selective function controlled by an adaptive parameter which is acquired by an AR model. According to the distribution of the SATD cost, the selective function can decide which modes can be discarded and which modes can be used for the FMD (Fine Mode Decision). In addition, in order to further reduce the number of candidate modes for FMD, an MPM joint fast mode selection method is presented based on the relationship between MPMs and candidate modes. Experimental results show that just in PU layer, the proposed AR based fast intra mode decision method can save encoding time by 32 % with negligible coding loss in all-intra main configuration compared to the intra mode decision of HM13.0. 相似文献

This paper presents an algorithm for solving large-scale polynomial (nonlinear) zero-one programming problems. The procedure incorporates a mixture of pseudo-Boolean concepts and time-proven implicit enumeration procedures. Significant savings in the time required to obtain optimal solutions results from the use of a minimum cover to analyze the future effect of a particular implicit enumeration iteration. Additional improvement is obtained through the use of a term ranking strategy to control the arborization of the implicit enumeration process. Computational experience demonstrates that this algorithm can reduce the magnitude of the computer solution time for large problems from several minutes to a matter of a few seconds. 相似文献

Taguchi-based methodology is implemented to determine and to optimize a robot's process capability (RPC). This low-cost solution optimizes a robot's operational conditions. The experiment determines the RPC (i.e., accuracy, repeatability, reproducibility and stability) and considers seven operational factors (i.e., load, speed, distance, orientation, direction, height, and starting point) with three levels each. The results from Taguchi experimental design and data analysis show that the various factors affect each RPC characteristic differently. Therefore, an optimized combination of operational factors for each RPC characteristic is determined separately. Based on the project results, recommendations are made to use Taguchi Methods.
