Tailored conditioning and control of flashing feeds in industrial applications requires knowledge of the evolving flow morphology and phase fractions along the feed pipe. Design methods obtained from reference systems (e.g. water-air) are hardly applicable for commercial scales and critical fluid properties (e.g. high vapor densities, low surface tension). [Fe]‐Hydrogenase (Hmd) catalyzes reversible hydride transfer from H2. It harbors an iron‐guanylylpyridinol as a cofactor with an FeII that is ligated to one thiolate, two COs, one acyl‐C, one pyridinol‐N, and solvent. Here, we report that CuI and H2O2 inactivate Hmd (half‐maximal rates at 1 μM CuI and 20 μM H2O2) and that FeII inhibits the enzyme with very high affinity (Ki=40 nM ). Infrared and EPR studies together with competitive inhibition studies with isocyanide indicated that CuI exerts its inhibitory effect most probably by binding to the active site iron‐thiolate ligand. Using the same methods, it was found that H2O2 binds to the active‐site iron at the solvent‐binding site and oxidizes FeII to FeIII. Also it was shown that FeII reversibly binds away from the active site iron, with binding being competitive to the organic hydride acceptor; this inhibition is specific for FeII and is reminiscent of that for the [FeFe]‐hydrogenase second iron, which specifically interacts with H2. 相似文献

In a scroll-type compressor, compression is achieved through relative contact between two spiral curves. Since the scroll invention by Leon Creux (1905), multiple methods have been developed for calculating scroll geometry. What can generally be considered the most classical method, is defining each scroll curve as the involute of a circle. Gravesen and Henriksen (2001) introduced a new method to calculate scroll geometry by deriving each scroll curve from the radius of curvature parameterized with involute angle. This allows a wide range of involute geometries to be considered not included in the classical method. In this paper, Gravesen's method is extended to the tip region to include all tip geometries involved in a two arc configuration resulting in a more comprehensive scroll geometry definition. Biocorrodible iron foams were coated with different calcium phosphate phases (CPP) to obtain a bioactive surface and controlled degradation. Further adhesion, proliferation and differentiation of SaOs-2 and human mesenchymal stem cells were investigated under both static and dynamic culture conditions. Hydroxyapatite (HA; [Ca10(PO4)6OH2]) coated foams released 500 μg/g iron per day for Dulbecco's modified eagle medium (DMEM) and 250 μg/g iron per day for McCoys, the unmodified reference 1000 μg/g iron per day for DMEM and 500 μg/g iron per day for McCoys, while no corrosion could be detected on brushite (CaHPO4) coated foams. Using a perfusion culture system with conditions closer to the in vivo situation, cells proliferated and differentiated on iron foams coated with either brushite or HA while in static cell culture cells could proliferate only on Fe-brushite. We conclude that the degradation behaviour of biocorrodible iron foams can be varied by different calcium phosphate coatings, offering opportunities for design of novel bone implants. Further studies will focus on the influence of different modifications of iron foams on the expression of oxidative stress enzymes. Additional information about in vivo reactions and remodelling behaviour are expected from testing in implantation studies. 相似文献
