Feature Extraction Method Based on Pseudo-Wigner-Ville Distribution for Rotational Machinery in Variable Operating Conditions

In the case of fault diagnosis for roller bearings, the conventional diagnosis approaches by using the time interval of energy impacts in time-frequency distribution or the pass-frequencies are based on the assumption that machinery operates under a constant rotational speed. However, when the rotational speed varies in the broader range, the pass-frequencies vary with the change of rotational speed and bearing faults cannot be identified by the interval of impacts. Researches related to automatic diagnosis for rotational machinery in variable operating conditions were quite few. A novel automatic feature extraction method is proposed based on a pseudo-Wigner-Ville distribution (PWVD) and an extraction of symptom parameter (SP). An extraction method for instantaneous feature spectrum is presented using the relative crossing information (RCI) and sequential inference approach, by which the feature spectrum from time-frequency distribution can be automatically, sequentially extracted. The SPs are considered in the frequency domain using the extracted feature spectrum to identify among the conditions of a machine. A method to obtain the synthetic symptom parameter is also proposed by the least squares mapping (LSM) technique for increasing the diagnosis sensitivity of SP. Practical examples of diagnosis for bearings are given in order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. The verification results show that the features of bearing faults, such as the outer-race, inner-race and roller element defects have been effectively extracted, and the proposed method can be used for condition diagnosis of a machine under the variable rotational speed.     

Inelastic constitutive equation of plasma-sprayed ceramic thermal barrier coatings

Ceramic thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) are a very important technology for protecting the hot parts of gas turbines (GTs) from a high-temperature environment. The coating stress generated in the operation of GTs brings cracking and peeling damage to the TBCs. Thus, it is necessary to evaluate precisely such coating stress in a TBC system. We have obtained a stress-strain curve for a freestanding ceramic coat specimen peeled from a TBC coated substrate by conducting the bending test. The test results have revealed that the ceramic coating deforms nonlinearly with the applied loading. In this study, an inelastic constitutive equation for the ceramic thermal barrier coatings deposited by APS is developed. The obtained results are as follows: (1) the micromechanics-based constitutive equation was formulated with micro crack density formed at splat boundary, and (2) it was shown that the numerical results for a nonlinearly deformed beam simulated by the developed constitutive equation agreed with the experimental results obtained by cantilever bending tests.     

玻璃纤维/大麻纤维增强聚丙烯混杂复合材料的力学性能和断裂特征(英文)

目前在土木工程,建筑,汽车等领域里使用的复合材料中,玻璃纤维是用量最大的增强材料。由于保护地球环境的呼声日趋高涨,天然纤维被期待着代替源于石油而且再利用困难的玻璃纤维,成为绿色复合材料的必要材料之一。本文通过注射成型工艺制作了玻璃短纤维,大麻短纤维以及混杂型纤维增强复合材料,并在拉伸实验中应用两种不同频率的声发射技术检测了拉伸断裂特性。实验发现,随着大麻纤维的加入和混杂复合材料绿色度的增加,复合材料的拉伸弹性模量随之线性增大,而拉伸强度基本保持不变。当大麻纤维的含量超过20wt%的时候,拉伸强度开始降低。在不同频率的声发射实验中,混杂型复合材料的声发射事件的产生都比单一纤维增强型复合材料要来的晚,也就是说,纤维的混杂有助于推迟微裂纹的产生。     

Scanning transmission ion microscopy on Fudan SPM facility

In this paper,we report a novel measurement system based on the development of Fudan Scanning Proton Microscopy(SPM) facility.By using Si-PIN diode(Hamamatsu S1223-01) detector,scanning transmission ion microscopy(STIM) measurement system has been set up.It can provide density and structural images with high probing efficiency and non-destruction by utilizing the energy loss of high energy(MeV) and focused ions penetrating through a thin sample.STIM measurement is able to map the density distribution of organic elements which mostly compose biology materials,such information can not be detected by using conventional Be-windowed Si(Li) X-ray detector in Particle Induced X-ray Emission(PIXE) technique.The spatial resolution capability of STIM is higher than PIXE technique at same accelerator status.As a result of STIM measurement,Paramecium attached on the top of Kapton tube was measured by STIM.     

Study on the hydrothermal drying technology of sewage sludge

Drying of sewage sludge is an effective way for treatment and utilization of sewage sludge,where reduction of energy consumption is one of the major technical challenges.So we experimentally investigated the possibility of the hydrothermal treatment.We have found that treatment of sewage sludge by saturated steam with the temperature of 190°C and pressure of 20 bar can dramatically improve the dehydration performance of the slurry like product.And the water content can be reduced down to about 55% by a mech...

A novel shaft-less double suction mini pump
