The multi-compartment vehicle routing problem (MC-VRP) consists of designing transportation routes to satisfy the demands of a set of customers for several products that, because of incompatibility constraints, must be loaded in independent vehicle compartments. Despite its wide practical applicability the MC-VRP has not received much attention in the literature, and the few existing methods assume perfect knowledge of the customer demands, regardless of their stochastic nature. This paper extends the MC-VRP by introducing uncertainty on what it is known as the MC-VRP with stochastic demands (MC-VRPSD). The MC-VRPSD is modeled as a stochastic program with recourse and solved by means of a memetic algorithm. The proposed memetic algorithm couples genetic operators and local search procedures proven to be effective on deterministic routing problems with a novel individual evaluation and reparation strategy that accounts for the stochastic nature of the problem. The algorithm was tested on instances of up to 484 customers, and its results were compared to those obtained by a savings-based heuristic and a memetic algorithm (MA/SCS) for the MC-VRP that uses a spare capacity strategy to handle demand fluctuations. In addition to effectively solve the MC-VRPSD, the proposed MA/SCS also improved 14 best known solutions in a 40-problem testbed for the MC-VRP.  相似文献

The burgeoning interest in archaic, traditional, and novel beer styles has coincided with a growing appreciation of the role of yeasts in determining beer character as well as a better understanding of the ecology and biogeography of yeasts. Multiple studies in recent years have highlighted the potential of wild Saccharomyces and non-Saccharomyces yeasts for production of beers with novel flavour profiles and other desirable properties. Yeasts isolated from spontaneously fermented beers as well as from other food systems (wine, bread, and kombucha) have shown promise for brewing application, and there is evidence that such cross-system transfers have occurred naturally in the past. We review here the available literature pertaining to the use of nonconventional yeasts in brewing, with a focus on the origins of these yeasts, including methods of isolation. Practical aspects of utilizing nondomesticated yeasts are discussed, and modern methods to facilitate discovery of yeasts with brewing potential are highlighted.  相似文献

This paper introduces the multi-activity combined timetabling and crew scheduling problem. The goal of this problem is to schedule the minimum number of workers required in order to successfully visit a set of customers characterized by services needed matched against schedule availability. Two solution strategies are proposed. The first is based on mathematical programming whilst the second uses a heuristic procedure in order to reduce computational time. The proposed model combines timetabling with crew scheduling decisions in one mixed integer programming model which considers multiple activities. The algorithms are tested on randomly generated and real instances provided by the Health to School Initiative, a program based at Bogotá’s local Health Department. The results show that the Initiative can increase its coverage by up to 68% using the proposed heuristic approach as a planning process tool.  相似文献

In the single truck and trailer routing problem with satellite depots (STTRPSD) a vehicle composed of a truck with a detachable trailer serves the demand of a set of customers reachable only by the truck without the trailer. This accessibility constraint implies the selection of locations to park the trailer before performing the trips to the customers. We propose two metaheuristics based on greedy randomized adaptive search procedures (GRASP), variable neighborhood descent (VND) and evolutionary local search (ELS) to solve this problem. To evaluate these metaheuristics we test them on a set of 32 randomly generated problems. The computational experiment shows that a multi-start evolutionary local search outperforms a GRASP/VND. Moreover, it obtains competitive results when applied to the multi-depot vehicle routing problem (MDVRP), that can be seen as a special case of the STTRPSD.  相似文献

In the quest to achieve the highest metal recovery during the smelting of copper concentrates, this study has evaluated the minimum level of soluble copper in iron-silicate slags. The experimental work was performed under slag-cleaning conditions for different levels of Fe in the matte and for a range of Fe/SiO2 ratios in the slag. All experiments were carried out under conditions where three phases were present (copper?Cmatte?Cslag), which is the condition typically prevailing in many slag-cleaning electric furnaces. The %Fe in the electric furnace matte was varied between 0.5?wt.% and 11?wt.%, and two different Fe/SiO2 ratios in the slag were used (targeted values were 1.4 and 1.6). All experiments were performed at 1200°C. From thermodynamic considerations, from industrial experience, and from the results obtained in this study, the minimum soluble copper content in the electric furnace slag is expected to be near 0.55?wt.% Cu. This level does not account for a portion of the copper present as mechanically entrained matte/metal droplets. Taking this into account, the current authors believe an overall copper level in discard slag between 0.7?wt.% and 0.8?wt.% can be obtained with optimal operating conditions. For these conditions, the copper losses in the slag are roughly 75% as dissolved copper and 25% as entrained matte and copper. Such conditions include operating the electric furnace at metallic copper saturation, maintaining the %Fe in the electric furnace matte between 6?wt.% and 9?wt.%, not exceeding a slag temperature of 1250°C, and controlling the Fe/SiO2 ratio in the smelting furnace slag at ??1.5. In addition, magnetite reduction needs to be performed efficiently during the slag-cleaning cycle so as to maintain a total magnetite content of ??7?wt.% in the discard slag. The authors further consider that under exceptionally well-controlled conditions, a copper content in electric furnace discard slag between 0.55?wt.% and 0.7?wt.% can be obtained, by minimizing entrained matte and copper solubility in the discard slag.  相似文献

In the truck and trailer routing problem (TTRP) a heterogeneous fleet composed of trucks and trailers has to serve a set of customers, some only accessible by truck and others accessible with a truck pulling a trailer. This problem is solved using a route-first, cluster-second procedure embedded within a hybrid metaheuristic based on a greedy randomized adaptive search procedure (GRASP), a variable neighborhood search (VNS) and a path relinking (PR). We test PR as a post-optimization procedure, as an intensification mechanism, and within evolutionary path relinking (EvPR). Numerical experiments show that all the variants of the proposed GRASP with path relinking outperform all previously published methods. Remarkably, GRASP with EvPR obtains average gaps to best-known solutions of less than 1% and provides several new best solutions.  相似文献

Polylactide/hydroxyapatite (PLA/HA) composites are promising tissue engineering materials because of the PLA biodegradability and HA as a natural bone component. PLA/HA composites without HA modification lead to mechanical failure due to the interfacial immiscibility. In this study, an effective chemical surface methodology is used to modify HA to obtain PLA/HA composites with superior mechanical properties. The HA particles are modified with fatty acids (adipic, sebacic, lauric, and linoleic) and incorporated into a PLA matrix by polymer solution casting, using chloroform as the solvent. After the HA modification, the films exhibited an improvement in tensile strength, elongation at break, and elastic modulus. Yet, the best results observed are by sebacic and adipic acid modification. These increments are attributed to a higher affinity of the organo-modified HA particles within the PLA matrix. Therefore, the development of materials for osteo-regeneration engineering based on these systems is quite promising.  相似文献
