A semi-analytical model for impact ionization coefficient of graphene nanoribbon (GNR) is presented. The model is derived by calculating probability of electrons reaching ionization threshold energy Et and the distance travelled by electron gaining Et. In addition, ionization threshold energy is semi-analytically modelled for GNR. During modelling, we justify our assumptions using analytical modelling and comparison with simulation. Furthermore, it is shown that conventional silicon models are not valid for calculation of ionization coefficient of GNR. Finally, the profile of ionization is presented using the proposed models and the results are compared with that of silicon.  相似文献

Results of wear tests using an alumina ball sliding against 5 wt% copper oxide doped tetragonal zirconia polycrystalline (CuO-TZP) ceramics are reported as a function of temperature up to 700 °C. The specific wear rate and friction coefficient are strongly dependent on temperature. Below a critical temperature (T < 600 °C), CuO-TZP showed a high coefficient of friction as well as a high wear rate. This was ascribed to the formation of a rough surface, caused by brittle fracture and abrasive wear, based on observations by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), laser scanning microscopy (LSM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). However, above 600 °C a self-healing layer is formed at the interface and results in low friction and wear. The mechanism of layer formation and restoration is discussed and rationalized by onset of plastic deformation caused by a reduction reaction of CuO to Cu2O at high temperatures.  相似文献

Nanostructured C/SiC/ZrB2–SiC oxidation protective gradient coating was prepared by a two‐step reactive melt infiltration method. In order to reduce production cost, ZrB2 phase was synthesized by the in situ reactive that included low‐cost ZrO2 and B2O3 powders as raw materials. High‐temperature oxidation behavior of coatings was evaluated by isothermal oxidation test at 1773 K in air for 10 hours. Thermodynamical behavior of the coatings at various temperatures during oxidation test and coating process was predicted by HSC Chemistry 6.0 software. Compressive residual stresses of 36.9 MPa and 41 MPa were calculated for in situ and ex situ coatings by Williamson‐Hall method. After 10 hours of isothermal oxidation at 1773K, in situ and ex situ coatings showed 12.84% and 15.69% of weight losses with oxidation rates of 1.87 × 10?2 g cm?3 h?1 and 0.91 × 10?2 g cm?3 h?1, respectively. These results indicated that the oxidation protection ability of the coating produced by the in situ method was very close to ex situ coating.  相似文献

Nano-crystalline 8YSZ was synthesized by the glycine-nitrate process in a muffle furnace using zirconyl nitrate and yttrium nitrate as sources of oxidants. The effect of changing the elemental stoichiometric coefficient over a wide range (0.756–1.605) on the product characteristics (crystallite size, percent unreacted, surface area) has been investigated. It is demonstrated that the combustion reaction proceeds most efficiently in the fuel-lean region. A novel and simple mathematical model is presented that allows to evaluate the thickness of the sheet-like particles of the foamy final product based on BET data. The calculated thickness values are in good agreement with the experimental data. For the first time, the effect of using ammonium nitrate as a combustion aid for the stoichiometric precursor composition has been studied. The optimum amount of combustion aid addition has been determined.  相似文献

Dry sliding wear tests on 5 wt.% copper oxide doped yttria stabilized zirconia polycrystals (CuO–TZP) composite have been performed against alumina, zirconia and silicon nitride countersurfaces at 600 °C. The influences of load and countersurface materials on the tribological performance of this composite have been studied. The friction and wear test results indicate a low coefficient of friction and specific wear rate for alumina and zirconia countersurfaces at F = 1 N load (maximum Hertzian pressure ~0.5 GPa). Examination of the worn surfaces using scanning electron microscope/energy dispersive spectroscopy confirmed the presence of copper rich layer at the edge of wear scar on the alumina and zirconia countersurfaces. However, Si3N4 countersurface sliding against CuO–TZP shows a relatively higher coefficient of friction and higher wear at 1 N load condition. These results suggest that the countersurface material significantly affect the behavior of the third body and self-lubricating ability of the composite.  相似文献

In this study, the microstructure and mechanical properties of the atmospheric plasma-sprayed Cr2O3 (C), Cr2O3-20YSZ (CZ), and Cr2O3-20YSZ-10SiC (CZS) coatings were evaluated and also compared with each other, so as to explain the coatings wear behavior. Microstructural evaluations included X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) equipped with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and porosity measurements. Mechanical tests including bonding strength, fracture toughness, and micro-hardness tests were used to advance our understanding of the correlation between the coatings properties and their wear behavior. The sliding wear test was conducted using a ball-on-disk configuration against an alumina counterpart at room temperature. Addition of multimodal YSZ and subsequent SiC reinforcements to the Cr2O3 matrix resulted in an increase in the fracture toughness and Vickers micro-hardness, respectively. It was found that the composite coatings had comparable coefficients of friction with pure Cr2O3 coatings. When compared with the C coating, the CZ and CZS composite coatings with higher fracture toughness exhibited superior wear resistance. Observation of the wear tracks of the coatings indicated that the lower wear rates of the CZ and CZS coatings were due to the higher plastic deformation of the detached materials. In fact, improvement in the wear resistance of the composite coatings was attributed to a phase transformation toughening mechanism associated with tetragonal zirconia which created more ductile tribofilms during the wear test participated in filling the pores of coatings.  相似文献

Combination of high-mean free path and scaling ability makes graphene nanoribbon (GNR) attractive for application of field-effect transistors and subject of intense research. Here, we study its behaviour at high bias near and after electrical breakdown. Theoretical modelling, Monte Carlo simulation, and experimental approaches are used to calculate net generation rate, ionization coefficient, current, and finally breakdown voltage (BV). It is seen that a typical GNR field-effect transistor''s (GNRFET) breakdown voltage is in the range of 0.5 to 3 V for different channel lengths, and compared with silicon similar counterparts, it is less. Furthermore, the likely mechanism of breakdown is studied.  相似文献
