Linear polyethyleneimine (L-PEI)-based nanoparticles were synthesized via hydrolysis of poly-2-methyl-2-oxazoline (PMeOx), which was prepared by cationic ring-opening polymerization of the oxazoline five-membered ring. Herein, a kinetic study of the ring-opening polymerization reaction is discussed. The nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum of PMeOx verified the presence of repeating units and terminal groups in the polymer's structure. Molar ratios of PEI and PMeOx were characterized using size exclusion chromatography with low-polydispersity polymer chains as the controlled polymerization reaction. PEI and PMeOx exhibited narrow particle size distribution with hydrodynamic radii of 89 and 67 nm, respectively, as determined via dynamic light scattering analysis. In addition, atomic forces and scanning electron microscopy were used to investigate the topography of the PEI thin films. Poly(glycidyl methacrylate) P(GMA) was grafted onto a PEI chain in the presence of trimethylolpropane triacrylate (TMPTA) as the crosslinking agent to synthesize the P(GMA–PEI–TMPTA) tripolymer via free radical polymerization using gamma irradiation. The thermal characterization of the P(GMA–PEI–TMPTA) tripolymer was conducted using thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimeter. Generally, the thermal stability of the P(GMA–PEI–TMPTA) tripolymer was improved at low-glycidyl methacrylate concentrations. The prepared tripolymer could be used as effective packaging materials for electronics industries.  相似文献

This work was done to assess the role of precursors (agro and graphite) on performance of carbon nanoallotropes-biomacromolecules composite as drug delivery for controlling the release of niacin. In this respect graphene oxide and bagasse-based carbon oxide were synthesized and chelated with chitosan (Cs-GO and Cs-Co). These gel composites were characterized by many techniques [morphology, differential scanning calorimetry, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, swelling, encapsulation efficiency (EE) and loading (L) % of niacin. Another series of experiments was carried out for studying the role of replacing part of carbon nanoallotrope by carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) on performance of produced drug carries, these systems were coded as Cs-GO-CMC and Cs-Co-CMC. The data showed that, the Cs-GO gel composite provided maximum release of NA, at 5 h, for pH's simulated gastric and intestinal fluids; pH. 2.1 and pH 7.4 (1120 mg/L and 757 mg/L). The incorporation of CMC is not acceptable as it provided low drug release together with burst release of NA-drug, and consequently possible caused tissue irritation or toxicity in the human body. The Cs-GO and Cs-CO systems with relatively low drug loading were recommended for their better controllability system to NA release, which prolonging benefit of human with niacin. The NA release from all investigated gels followed Fickian and non-Fickian diffusion mechanisms.  相似文献

In this paper, load frequency control is performed for a two-area power system incorporating a high penetration of renewable energy sources. A droop controller for a type 3 wind turbine is used to extract the stored kinetic energy from the rotating masses during sudden load disturbances. An auxiliary storage controller is applied to achieve effective frequency response. The coot optimization algorithm (COA) is applied to allocate the optimum parameters of the fractional-order proportional integral derivative (FOPID), droop and auxiliary storage controllers. The fitness function is represented by the summation of integral square deviations in tie line power, and Areas 1 and 2 frequency errors. The robustness of the COA is proven by comparing the results with benchmarked optimizers including: atomic orbital search, honey badger algorithm, water cycle algorithm and particle swarm optimization. Performance assessment is confirmed in the following four scenarios: (i) optimization while including PID controllers; (ii) optimization while including FOPID controllers; (iii) validation of COA results under various load disturbances; and (iv) validation of the proposed controllers under varying weather conditions.  相似文献

The authors aimed to examine a multivariate statistical analysis approach for monitoring the hydrocarbon potentiality of source rocks in the North Western Desert to recognize the potentiality of source rocks and subsequently investigate the maturation level of the proven potential source formations for oil preservation. To achieve this aim, they applied multivariate statistics analysis (principle component analysis [PCA], cluster analysis, and correlation coefficient) and Rock-Eval pyrolysis analyses. The results showed that both PCA and cluster analyses have showed two types of source rocks. The first is classified as poor to fair source rock and immature to marginally mature source rock, the second is considered as fair to good source rock and mature to post mature source rock. PCA extracted two independent factors, which explained 81.87% of the total variance. The first type of source rock was responsible for 50% of the total variance and was best represented by variables TOC, S2, OI, and Ro, and the second one was responsible for 31.65% of the total variance and was represented by the HI variable. Pearson correlation coefficient showed a significant positive correlation between TOC and S2 or Ro. A positive correlation between S2 and HI or OI and also between OI and Ro was observed, while no significant correlation was noticed between HI and Ro.  相似文献

In this article, two theories of the generalized thermoelasticity Green-Naghdi theory (of type II and III) are applied, as well as the coupled theory to study the effect of magnetic field and rotation under influence of gravity on 2D problem of a fibre-reinforced thermoelastic. The normal mode analysis is used to obtain the expressions for the temperature, displacement components and the thermal stresses distributions. The resulting formulation is applied for two different concrete problems. The first concerns the case of a punch moving across the surface of semi-infinite thermoelastic half-space subjected to appropriate boundary conditions. The second deals with a thick plate subjected to a time-dependent heat source on each face. Numerical results are illustrated graphically for each problem considered. A comparison is made with the results predicted obtained by the two theories in the presence and absence of magnetic field, rotation and gravity field.  相似文献

Many industrial activities utilise formaldehyde as a key chemical in organic synthesis including: synthesis of special chemicals such as pentaerythritol and ethylene glycol, synthetic resins, paper products, medicinal products and drugs and others, too numerous to mention. Therefore, effluents arising from these applications may contain significant amounts of formaldehyde. In a biodegradation experiments of a wastewater sample containing formaldehyde ranging from 31.5 to 125 mg/l, residual formalin (a solution of formaldehyde gas in water) ranging from 40% to 85%, respectively, was found at the end of the run (16 d) showing the inhibition effect of formalin which increased with the increase in formalin concentration. The biodegradation of formalin decreased significantly at concentrations higher than 300 mg/l. A method to convert formaldehyde to an easily biodegradable substance is herein described. In the commercial manufacture of resins from phenol and formalin the reaction is never completely quantitative. As a result during the dehydration stage phenol and formalin are distilled from the wastewater. Phenol is toxic to several biochemical reactions. However, biological transformation of phenol to a non-toxic entity is possible through specialized microbes. Transformation of phenol is inhibited by the presence of formaldehyde. Biotransformation of phenol in a wastewater containing high concentrations of formaldehyde started shortly after treating the wastewater with calculated amounts of sodium sulphite. Sodium sulphite is believed to react with formaldehyde forming sodium formaldehyde bisulphite, which is not only non-toxic to microorganisms but also a biodegradable substance. From the DO measurements before and after the addition of sodium sulphite, the authors noticed that the dissolved oxygen in a wastewater containing formaldehyde is not affected by the addition of the calculated amount of sodium sulphite, which is just enough to consume the measured amount of formaldehyde in that wastewater.  相似文献

A general model of the equations of generalized thermo–microstretch for a homogeneous isotropic elastic half–space is given. The modulus of elasticity is taken as a linear function of reference temperature. The formulation is applied to generalized thermoelasticity theories, the Lord–?hulman and Green–Lindsay theories, as well as the classical dynamical coupled theory. The normal mode analysis is used to obtain the exact expressions for the displacement components, force stresses, temperature, couple stresses and microstress distribution. The variations of the considered variables through the horizontal distance are illustrated graphically. A comparison is made with the results predicted by the three theories in case of temperature–independent modulus of elasticity.  相似文献

This research evaluated the potential use of cement kiln dust (CKD) together with slag to replace the use of cement in the production of controlled low-strength material (CLSM). The low strength requirements of CLSM compared to conventional concrete enable the use of industrial by-products for the production of CLSM. In this study, the workability-related fresh properties of CLSM mixtures were observed through slump flow diameter, V-funnel flow time and filling capacity. Setting times, temperature rise, air content and unit weight of CLSM mixtures were also determined as part of fresh properties. The hardened properties that were monitored for 28 days included the unconfined compressive strength. The test results presented herein show that a combination of less than 50 kg/m3 slag and up to 300 kg/m3 CKD provides a good mix that satisfies the requirements of a CLSM with similar or better properties to that of CKD-based CLSM mix containing Portland cement. Suitable CLSM mixtures with reasonable fresh and hardened properties could also be developed by using CKD alone. However, reduced strength in such CLSM mixtures may limit their field application. The slag significantly assisted in increasing compressive strength of CKD-based CLSM mixtures. A CLSM mix containing a combination of slag and CKD was shown to have excellent characteristics for flowable backfill and excavatable base material. Therefore, producing CKD/slag based CLSM through the use of co-generated products from the cement and iron manufacturing processes can provide leadership for the construction industry in the transition for sustainable development.  相似文献

Theoretical analysis is performed to study catalytic reaction of CO in bolh high and low temperature shift converters. The study includes comparison between model predictions and data collected from local industries in Kuwait. Theoretical models are developed to simulate temperature and conversion profiles of CO in both the high and low shift converters. Good fits are obtained between the theoretical predictions of exit CO conversion and axial temperature profiles and the collected data. Calculations show existence of an optimum feed temperature for the high temperature shift converter. Such an optimum does not exist for the low temperature shift system because of physical limitations on operating conditions. @KEYWORDS: Carbon monoxide, Shift converters.  相似文献
