The utility of green silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) in veterinary medicine is steadily increasing as they have many therapeutic applications against pathogens and arthropods of livestock. In this study, green AgNPs using neem (N‐AgNPs), 2,3‐dehydrosalanol (2,3‐DHS‐AgNPs) and quercetin dihydrate (QDH‐AgNPs) were synthesised and characterised. Synthesised compounds were characterised by UV‐Vis spectroscopy and the peak absorbance was recorded at 370 nm for neem extract. For N‐AgNPs, 2,3‐DHS‐AgNPs and QDH‐AgNPs, the maximum absorbance peaks were at 430, 230 and 220 nm, respectively. The FTIR analysis confirmed the synthesis of green AgNPs. The XRD pattern of N‐AgNPs showed the peaks corresponding to whole spectra of 2 θ values ranging from 10–80. The relatively higher intensity of (111, 222) planes in face centred cubic crystalline structure supports the formation of synthesised AgNPs. In DLS analysis, the hydrodynamic diameter of neem leaf extract was found to be 259.8 nm, followed by 5.3, 6.7 and 261.8 nm for 2,3‐DHS‐AgNPs, N‐AgNPs and QDH‐AgNPs, respectively. Based on the transmission electron microscopy and scanning electron microscopy image analyses, confirmed the formation of N‐AgNPs, 2,3‐DHS‐AgNPs and QDH‐AgNPs. These eco‐friendly phyto‐AgNPs may be of use as an effective alternative to chemical control methods against the arthropods of livestock.Inspec keywords: nanoparticles, silver, nanomedicine, biomedical materials, nanofabrication, Fourier transform infrared spectra, ultraviolet spectra, visible spectra, X‐ray diffraction, light scattering, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, aggregation, veterinary medicineOther keywords: 2,3‐dehydrosalanol mediated silver nanoparticles, quercetin dihydrate mediated silver nanoparticles, therapeutic applications, green silver nanoparticles, veterinary medicine, Azadirachta indica, UV‐visible spectroscopy, Fourier transformed infrared analysis, X‐ray diffraction, (111) planes, (222) planes, face centred cubic crystalline structure, dynamic light scattering, hydrodynamic diameter, aqueous neem leaf extract, transmission electron microscopy, hexagonal shape, pencil head shape, cuboid shape, scanning electron microscopy, aggregation, arthropod infesting livestock, Ag, in‐vivo antiectoparasitic activity, in‐vitro antiectoparasitic activity  相似文献

Effect of scale on the drop size distribution in a pump-mix mixer has been studied. A network of zones model was developed to predict the drop size distribution at different locations in the mixer. Computational fluid dynamics model was used to obtain the flow patterns in the mixer and to identify zones based on the flow patterns. Population balance equation was solved for all the zones of the mixer. The model was validated with the experimental data over a wide range of parameters as well experimental data from the published literature. The model was further extended for scale-up studies. Two different scale-up criteria were studied. It was observed that equal power consumption per unit mass and geometrical similarity is a better scale-up criterion as compared with equal tip speed criterion for pump-mix mixers.  相似文献

In the present study, solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs) have been formulated as a carrier system for effective intracellular delivery of STAT3 inhibitor, niclosamide (Niclo) to triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) cells. Emulsification-solvent evaporation method was employed in formulation of Niclo-loaded SLNs (Niclo-SLNs). The formula of Niclo-SLN was optimized by Box–Behnken design and characterized for their shape, size, and surface charge. The in vitro anti-cancer efficacy of Niclo-SLNs was studied in TNBC cells. The prepared Niclo-SLNs were found to be spherical with the particle size of 112.18?±?1.73?nm and zetapotential of 23.8?±?2.7?mV. In the in vitro anticancer study the Niclo SLNs show a better cytotoxicity than the naïve Niclo, which is attributed to improved cell uptake of SLN formulation. In conclusion, the results of the present study demonstrate that the formulation of Niclo as SLNs will improve the anticancer efficacy against TNBC.  相似文献

The present work investigates the thermophoresis and Brownian motion effects in nanofluid flow over a curved stretching sheet (CSS). Also, the Cattaneo–Christov heat flux and Stefan blowing (SB) conditions are considered for studying heat and mass transport characteristics. The present work's novelty is associated with considerations of convective boundary and SB conditions in nanomaterial flow over a CSS. The coupled partial differential equations are changed to ordinary differential equations by employing suitable similarity variables, and the resultant model is numerically handled using Runge–Kutta–Fehlberg's fourth fifth-order method with the shooting scheme. The stimulation of the involved parameters/numbers on the flow, mass, and heat fields is broadly deliberated using suitable graphs. The present analysis's significant relevant outcomes are that the inclination in thermophoresis and Brownian motion parameters increases the heat transfer. The inclined values of the Brownian motion parameter decay the mass transfer. Furthermore, the increased values of both Schmidt number and SB parameter drop the mass transport. The increased values of the Brownian motion parameter and Schmidt number decays the rate of mass transference.  相似文献

In the present work, experiments have been carried out to measure the drop size distributions in a pump–mix mixer over a wide range of geometry and operating conditions. The effects of impeller type, (single and multiple impellers), impeller speed, location, phase flow rates, and interfacial tension have been investigated. Computational fluid dynamics model has been developed to predict the hydrodynamic characteristics of pump–mix mixers. Population balance modeling has been carried out to predict the drop size distributions. The hydrodynamic characteristics predicted through CFD simulations have been related to the drop size distributions. The role of convection and energy dissipation in influencing the drop size distributions has been elucidated.  相似文献

Summary As a substitute to the NASA GA(W)-2 airfoil, that is envisaged for a Light Transport Aircraft (LTA), a new airfoil NAL-MSNLF-136 is designed at NAL. It is shown according to model calculations that the thicker NAL airfoil shows better aerodynamic efficiency than the GA(W)-2 profile in the operatingC L range.  相似文献

Mastitis is an important economic disease causing production losses in dairy industry. Antibiotics are becoming ineffective in controlling mastitis due to the emergence of resistant strains requiring the development of novel therapeutic agents. In this study, the authors present the phytochemical synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) with acetyl‐11‐α‐keto‐β‐boswellic acid and evaluation of their activity in Staphylococcus aureus induced murine mastitis. Boswellic acid mediated AgNP (BANS) were oval, polydispersed (99.8 nm) with an minimum inhibitory concentration of 0.033 µg ml−1 against S. aureus, inhibitory concentration (IC50) of 30.04 µg ml−1 on mouse splenocytes and safe at an in vivo acute oral dose of 3.5 mg kg−1 in mice. Mastitis was induced in lactating mice by inoculating S. aureus (log10 5.60 cfu) and treated 6 h post‐inoculation with BANS (0.12 mg kg−1, intramammary and intraperitoneal), and cefepime (1 mg kg−1, intraperitoneal). S. aureus inoculated mice showed increased bacterial load, neutrophil infiltration in mammary glands and elevated C‐reactive protein (CRP) in serum. Oxidative stress was also observed with elevated malondialdehyde level, superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) activities. BANS treatment significantly (P  < 0.05) reduced bacterial load, CRP, SOD, CAT activities and neutrophil infiltration in affected mammary glands. BANS could be a potential therapeutic agent for managing bovine mastitis.Inspec keywords: nanomedicine, nanoparticles, silver, antibacterial activity, drugs, diseases, enzymesOther keywords: antibacterial effects, antiinflammatory effects, antioxidant effects, acetyl‐11‐α‐keto‐β‐boswellic acid, mediated silver nanoparticles, experimental murine mastitis, economic disease, dairy industry, resistant strains, phytochemical synthesis, Staphylococcus aureus, minimum inhibitory concentration, inoculating S. aureus, neutrophil infiltration, mammary glands, elevated C‐reactive protein, superoxide dismutase, catalase, bovine mastitis, Ag  相似文献

Metamorphic computer viruses “mutate” by changing their internal structure and, consequently, different instances of the same virus may not exhibit a common signature. With the advent of construction kits, it is easy to generate metamorphic strains of a given virus. In contrast to standard hidden Markov models (HMMs), profile hidden Markov models (PHMMs) explicitly account for positional information. In principle, this positional information could yield stronger models for virus detection. However, there are many practical difficulties that arise when using PHMMs, as compared to standard HMMs. PHMMs are widely used in bioinformatics. For example, PHMMs are the most effective tool yet developed for finding family related DNA sequences. In this paper, we consider the utility of PHMMs for detecting metamorphic virus variants generated from virus construction kits. PHMMs are generated for each construction kit under consideration and the resulting models are used to score virus and non-virus files. Our results are encouraging, but several problems must be resolved for the technique to be truly practical.  相似文献
