A mathematical model for a ZE-type worm gear set is proposed. The characteristics of a ZE-type worm gear cut with an oversize hob cutter are investigated. Bearing contacts and kinematic errors in the ZE-type worm gear set due to regrinding of oversize hob cutters are also studied. Bearing contacts in the worm gear set were obtained using surface separation topology techniques and tooth contact analysis. It was found that bearing contact locations are sensitive to the hob cutter setting angle and setting distance. Kinematic error minimization was achieved modifying worm normal tooth angle. By applying the optimization theorem and computer simulation programs, optimum hob cutter settings and worm normal tooth angle were determined to improve bearing contact location and minimize the worm gear set kinematic errors. A numerical example is given to demonstrate the results of the investigation. The developed computer-aided manufacture program has successfully been applied to the worm gear manufacture and hob cutter design.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) over 10 cm in diameter at the time of diagnosis continues to account for a number of patients undergoing hepatic resection. This study evaluated the clinicopathological features and outcome following surgery for large HCC. METHODS: Forty patients with a large HCC (greater than 10 cm) (group 1) resected between 1991 and 1996 were studied retrospectively. They were compared with 245 patients who had smaller HCCs (10 cm or less) (group 2). RESULTS: No patient in group 1 had hepatitis C infection compared with 22.9 per cent in group 2 (P=0.001). Patients in group 1 were significantly younger, had higher alpha-fetoprotein levels (16750 versus 1864 ng/ml; P < 0.001), better liver function, a higher incidence of multiple tumours (27 of 40 versus 42.0 per cent; P=0.003) and venous invasion (35 of 40 versus 52.2 per cent; P < 0.001), and underwent more major resections (37 of 40 versus 26.5 per cent; P < 0.001) than those in group 2. Morbidity and mortality rates and hospital stay were comparable in the two groups. For group 1, the 1-, 3- and 5-year disease-free survival rates were 42, 30 and 28 per cent respectively. Multiple tumours, venous invasion and impaired liver function were factors associated with recurrence. CONCLUSION: Large HCC had specific clinicopathological features. In selected patients, resection is safe and offers the chance of long-term disease-free survival.  相似文献

Summary Novel copolyimides containing fluorine and naphthalene groups were synthesized from 4,4-(Hexafluoroisopropylidene)diphthalic dianhydride (6FDA) and two diamines, 1,4-Bis(4-amino-2-trifluoromethylphenoxy) benzene (BATB) and 2,7-bis(4-aminophenoxy) naphthalene (BAPN) in various ratios via thermal imidization. The introduction of fluorinated groups into dianhydride improved transparency of copolyimides. All films are transparent. The structures and physical properties of copolyimides were characterized by FT-IR, DSC, TGA, XRD, UV-Vis and dielectric analyzer to study the effect of diamines on the physical properties of modified polymers. Copolyimides containing a higher percentage of BAPN have higher glass transition temperature and are less soluble in organic solvents. The copolyimide consisting of 50/50 mole% of BATB/BAPN has the lowest dielectric constant (2.60 at 1 KHz), reflecting the synergizing effect from both diamines.  相似文献

Novel thermotropic liquid crystalline polymers (TLCP) with improved processability and lower cost than Vectra® were synthesized by esterification and melt polycondensation. Aromatic compounds, 6-hydroxyl-2-naphthoic acid, 2,6-naphthlenedicarboxylic acid, 4-hydroxybenzoic acid or terephthalic acid, were used as polycyclic stiff rod-like mesogenic groups. Aliphatic diol, ethylene glycol or 1,4-butanediol was used as flexible spacers to form semi-flexible main chain TLCP. The LCP products were characterized by FT-IR and 1H NMR to identify their chemical structures. The analytical results showed the polymers had inherent viscosities of 0.35-0.54 dL/g. The crank shaft structure of the naphthalene decreased the melting temperature (Tm) of LCP (181-272 °C) to facilitate extrusion or injection molding, and maintained relatively high heat deflection temperature for high performance engineering plastics applications. The 5% weight loss decomposition temperatures were above 400 °C. LCPs have good solvent resistance and low hygroscopicity. The SEM morphology showed strong orientation on the surface in the flow direction and many micro-fibers structure in a sectional drawing. The optical textures of polymers observed by POM revealed a strong birefringence in the melts and indicated that they form nematic mesophase. All polymers have broad mesophase temperature (ΔTmeso) ranges.  相似文献

2,7‐Bis(4‐aminophenoxy) naphthalene (BAPN), a naphthalene‐containing diamine, was synthesized and polymerized with a 3,3′,4,4′‐benzophenone tetracarboxylic dianhydride (BTDA) to obtain a polyimide (PI) via thermal imidization. To enhance the thermal and mechanical properties of the polymer, PI–Montmorillonite (MMT) nanocomposites were prepared from a DMAc solution of poly(amic acid) and a DMAc dispersion of MMT, which were organo‐modified with various amounts of n‐dodecylamine (DOA) or cetylpyridium chloride (CPC). FTIR, XRD, and TEM (transmission electron microscopy) were used to verify the incorporation of the modifying agents into the clay structure and the intercalation of the organoclay into the PI matrix. Results demonstrated that the introduction of a small amount of MMT (up to 5%) led to the improvement in thermal stability and mechanical properties of PI. The decomposition temperature of 5% weight loss (Td,5%) in N2 was increased by 46 and 36°C in comparison with pristine PI for the organoclay content of 5% with DOA and CPC, respectively. The nanocomposites were simultaneously strengthened and toughened. The dielectric constant, CTE, and water absorption were decreased. However, at higher organoclay contents (5–10%), these properties were reduced because the organoclay was poorly dispersed and resulted in aggregate formation. The effects of different organo‐modifiers on the properties of PI–MMT nanocomposite were also studied; the results showed that DOA was comparable with CPC. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Various epoxy resin formulations, based on the diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) and cured with diethylene triamine (DETA) were studied. Dynamic mechanical measurements were used to characterize changes in mechanical properties as a function of temperature. The morphology of the cured resins was investigated by transmission electron microscopy. Correlations between dynamic mechanical properties and morphology were described and discussed by applying the concept of inhomogeneous (nodular) thermoset morphology. The elastic storage modulus in the glassy state was determined primarily by the internodular matrix, whereas the glass transition of cured resins depended upon the intranodular crosslink density.  相似文献

Fatigue crack growth test was performed to evaluate fatigue behavior of 304 stainless steel specimens with or without laser processing (welding and surface treatment) in air and gaseous hydrogen. As the crack propagation normal to the laser welding or scan direction, the laser-processed specimens exhibited a higher resistance to crack growth in the low stress intensity factor range (ΔK) than the as-received steel plates regardless of testing environments. However, the marked retardation of crack growth behavior vanished for welded specimens subjected to a 850 °C/h stress relief treatment or with a shorter distance from notch tip to the weld centerline in the test.Fatigue-fractured appearance of the steel plate tested in air was composed of mainly transgranular fatigue fracture and some flat facets, along with a small amount of intergranular fracture. While quasi-cleavage fracture and few twin boundary separations were observed for the same specimen in hydrogen. On the other hand, the lower crack growth rate of laser-processed specimens in both air and hydrogen was accompanied with rubbed areas on the fracture surfaces. It was found that the extent of quasi-cleavage fracture was related to the formation of strain-induced martensite, which would contribute to an increased fatigue crack growth rate of all specimens in gaseous hydrogen.  相似文献

Slow displacement rate tensile tests were carried out to study sulfide stress corrosion cracking (SSCC) of PH 13-8 Mo stainless steel welds in a saturated H2S solution. The welds aged in the temperature range of 482-593 °C were susceptible to SSCC; the fracture surfaces revealed mainly quasi-cleavage fractures after notched tensile tests. However, the SSCC susceptibility in terms of the percentage loss of the notched tensile strength (NTS) of the welds was dependent on the aging treatment. The SSCC resistance and the austenite content of the welds increased with the aging temperatures. The presence of greater amounts of austenite, mainly reverted austenite, in the W1100 specimen (the weld aged at 1100 °F or 593 °C) than that in other aged specimens could account for its lower hardness and better SSCC resistance. On the other hand, the AW (as-welded) specimen containing a small amount of retained austenite films in a soft matrix exhibited a slightly improved SSCC resistance than that in the W1100 specimen. The lower hardness of the AW specimen was owing to the absence of fine coherent precipitates, leading to a reduced local stress and an enlarged plastic zone located in front of the notch in the test. With lower hardness, the local stress would also be lower and less likely to exceed some critical stress for failure in the saturated H2S solution. For the aged specimens, the hardness/strength level and the amount of reverted austenite were the important factors that affect SSCC susceptibility.  相似文献

Slow displacement rate tensile tests were carried out in a saturated H2S solution to investigate the effect of hydrogen embrittlement on notched tensile strength (NTS) and fracture characteristics of two ultra-high strength steels (PH 13-8 Mo stainless steel and T-200 maraging steel). Hydrogen permeation properties were determined by an electrochemical permeation method. The results of permeation tests indicated that over-aged specimens showed a lower diffusivity/hydrogen flux and higher solubility than those solution-annealed. The great increase in reverted austenite (irreversible hydrogen traps) together with numerous precipitates at the expense of dislocations (reversible) in the over-aged specimen led to such a change in permeability. Ordinary tensile tests indicated that four tested specimens had roughly the same yield strength level. Hence, the hydrogen embrittlement susceptibility of the material could be related to their permeation properties. The uniform distribution of strong hydrogen traps in over-aged specimens instead of weak traps in the solution-annealed impeded the hydrogen transport toward the strained region, thus, the resistance to sulfide stress corrosion cracking was improved in over-aged specimens.  相似文献
