The Jeans instability in collisional dusty plasmas has been analytically investigated by considering the polarization force effect.Instabilities due to dust-neutral and ion-neutral drags can occur in electrostatic waves of collisional dusty plasmas with self-gravitating particles.In this study,the effect of gravitational force on heavy dust particles is considered in tandem with both the polarization and electrostatic forces.The theoretical framework has been developed and the dispersion relation and instability growth rate have been derived,assuming the plane wave approximation.The derived instability growth rate shows that,in collisional dusty plasmas,the Jeans instability strongly depends on the magnitude of the polarization force. 相似文献

The self-acceleration of spherically expanding flames were investigated using a constant volume combustion chamber for CO/H2/O2/N2 mixtures over a wide range of initial pressure from 0.2 to 0.6 MPa, CO/H2 ratio from 50/50 to 10/90 and equivalence ratio from 0.4 to 1.5. The adiabatic flame temperature was kept constant by adjusting O2/N2 ratio at different equivalence ratios. Schlieren images were recorded to investigate the flame front evolution of spherically expanding flames. Local acceleration exponents were extracted using a proper equation to study the process of flame self-acceleration. Results show that the flame cells develop on the smooth flame fronts and finally reach fractal-like structures due to the hydrodynamic and diffusional-thermal instabilities, resulting in flame self-accelerative propagation. The critical Peclet number corresponding to the onset of self-acceleration, Pecr increases nonlinearly with the Markstein length, Ma. The observation further reveals that the onset of self-acceleration is mainly controlled by the diffusional-thermal effect. There exists two distinct flame propagation regimes in the self-acceleration, namely quick transition accelerative and quasi self-similar accelerative regimes. The quick transition regime is controlled by the destabilization effect of hydrodynamic perturbation and stabilization effect of flame stretch. While the quasi self-similar regime is primarily affected by the cascading process of flame front cells controlled by hydrodynamic instability. The self-similar acceleration exponent, αs varies with the initial pressure and Lewis number, Le. The values of αs are measured to be 1.1–1.25 (smaller than 1.5), indicating the flame dose not attain self-turbulization. 相似文献

针对抗振条-传热管大间隙的4跨传热管直管束开展了流致振动试验研究。传热管束转角正三角形排列,3处抗振条将直管束分为4跨,中间其中1跨的局部区域受到横向流体的冲刷。试验测试获得了管间流速在3.3~14.7 m/s区间内传热管振动位移和振动频率响应特性。结果表明,随着管间流速逐渐增大,传热管在来流方向和升力方向的振动频率依次增大,传热管的振动模态从抗振条1处有效支撑、2处未有效支撑的状态,转换为3处抗振条均有效支撑的状态。试验观测到传热管流弹失稳,其临界流速为14.5 m/s,与5种经验关系式预测结果的对比表明,Chen关系式能较好地预测流弹失稳的发生,预测结果较保守,与试验值间的相对偏差为21.4%。 相似文献

R‐θ two‐dimensional numerical simulations have been carried out to clarify the plasma behavior in a high‐temperature noble gas plasma disk‐shaped magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) generator. At low inlet total temperature and high load resistance, the plasma has spiral structure which is similar to the nonuniform structure under the weak noble gas ionization condition in a seed‐plasma MHD generator. As seen in a linear‐shaped Faraday‐type MHD generator, the plasma becomes stable with increase in the inlet total temperature because the coulomb collision of electrons becomes dominant. Even at low inlet total temperature, the ionization instability can be suppressed for low load resistance, because the relatively low electron temperature due to less Joule heating makes the ionization relaxation time longer than plasma residential time. 相似文献

对具有长直上升段的自然循环系统,开展了流动不稳定性实验研究。同时,详细分析了低压、高入口过冷度条件下典型的流动不稳定现象。实验表明:自然循环系统的结构、流体的热边界条件会影响自然循环的运行特性及流动不稳定性类型。较高入口过冷度下,高热流密度导致系统脱离稳态后,很难重新回到稳定的两相自然循环流动状态。随着热流密度的提高,系统会经历间歇沸腾、复合动态流动不稳定性等状态。依据实验结果得到了高入口过冷度下的不稳定性边界图。在两相振荡期间,自然循环驱动压头和回路阻力的主要影响因素集中在长直上升段和加热段。加热段出口积聚的大量气泡对上、下游流体的强烈挤压作用是流量大幅振荡及逆流的主要原因。 相似文献

The last decades have seen a number of liquid metal experiments on the interaction of magnetic fields with the flow of electrically conducting fluids. The opaqueness of liquid metals requires non-optical methods for inferring the velocity structure of the flow. Quite often, such experiments are carried out in the presence of high electrical currents to generate the necessary magnetic fields. Depending on the specific purpose, these currents can reach several kiloamperes. The utilized switching mode power supply can then influence seriously the measurement system by electromagnetic interference. A recent experiment on the azimuthal magnetorotational instability (AMRI) has shown that a hydrodynamically stable Taylor–Couette flow becomes unstable under the influence of a high azimuthal magnetic field. An electrical current along the axis of the experiment with up to 20 kA generates the necessary field to destabilize the flow. We present experimental results of this AMRI experiment carried out at the PROMISE facility with an enhanced power supply. For this setup, we discuss the elaborate measures that were needed to obtain a reasonable signal-to-noise ratio of the ultrasonic Doppler velocimetry (UDV) system. In dependence on various parameter variations, some typical features of the observed instability, such as the energy content, the wavelength, and the frequency are analyzed and compared with theoretical predictions. 相似文献

A linear analysis of Kelvin–Helmholtz instability of a cylindrical interface has been carried out when there is heat and mass transfer across the interface, using viscous potential flow theory. Both fluids are considered as incompressible, viscous, and thermally conducting with different kinematic viscosities. Both axisymmetric as well as asymmetric disturbances are considered. Stability criterion is given by a critical value of relative velocity and stability is discussed theoretically as well as numerically. Various graphs with respect to physical parameters such as wave number, viscosity ratio, heat transfer coefficients, Reynolds number, etc., have been drawn and the effect of various parameters have been described. A comparison with the linear stability analysis of inviscid fluids (Lee [10]) has been made and it is observed that viscosity has a stabilizing effect on the stability of the system. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
