Novel approach for the development of dietary fibre-anthocyanin enriched functional bread from culinary banana bract

Dietary fibre (DF)-anthocyanin formulation was incorporated in bread to develop anthocyanin rich DF powder (ARDFP) fortified bread. Prior to incorporation of DF-anthocyanin formulation in bread preparation, the cytotoxicity of DF and anthocyanin extracts was assessed. The effect of incorporation of different level of ARDFP with moisture on bread quality characteristics such as specific volume, textural, colour, sensory properties and starch digestibility was studied. The results revealed that extracted DF and anthocyanin of culinary banana bracts were nontoxic towards peripheral blood mononuclear cell and cytotoxic towards HT29 cancerous cell line. Incorporation of 2% ARDFP with 68% moisture was rated as best with higher specific volume (5.50 cm³ g⁻¹), improved textural properties (high springiness and cohesiveness), anthocyanin content (9.08 mg per 100 g), colour characteristics and sensory acceptability next to control. The in vitro digestibility study suggested increased incorporation of ARDFP in bread flour reduced the rate of starch digestibility (0.0035 min⁻¹).     

A Compact Semi-circular Slot MIMO Antenna with Enhanced Isolation for Sub-6 GHz 5G WLAN Applications

In this paper, a novel compact semi-circular slot (SCS) 2 × 2 MIMO antenna is presented for 5G NR sub-6 GHz applications with high isolation. The proposed antenna consists of a semi-circular slot in ground plane, U-shaped stub, and 50-ohm microstrip feed line. The novelty of this paper are the Semi-Circular Slot acts a radiator, the port isolation  is enhanced using a simple conductor strip as a neutralization line, very compact in size, low ECC, and good impedance matching. The overall size of the proposed SCS MIMO antenna is 16 mm x 21 mm, and FR4 substrate is used with thickness of 1.6 mm. The two SCS antenna elements are separated by edge-to-edge distance of 1mm (\(=0.019\lambda _{0}\)). The proposed compact MIMO antenna design is simulated using Ansys HFSS. To validate SCS MIMO antenna, a prototype was fabricated and tested. The measured results are attained at 5.5 GHz with isolation greater than 25dB, impedance bandwidth (S11\(<-10\) dB) covers from 5.10 GHz to 5.80 GHz with return loss of ? 39.5 dB. The MIMO antenna parameters, ECC, CCL, TARC, and MEG are studied, and the values are obtained within acceptable limits. The measured and simulated antenna results are almost similar. This compact MIMO antenna is suitable for 5G communications in sub-6 GHz wifi-5 band applications.

     

Microstructure,hardness, toughness and abrasive wear resistance of 16.0 wt. % chromium white iron after continuous and cyclic destabilisation treatment

Destabilisation of as-cast chromium white iron with 16 wt-% chromium are performed by continuous destabilisation treatment for 4 h and short duration (0.66 h) cyclic destabilisation treatment at 900, 950, 1000, 1050, and 1100 °C. Continuous destabilisation causes secondary carbides precipitation from austenite which on slow cooling transforms to pearlite matrix. Cyclic destabilisation treatment causes similar precipitation of finer secondary carbides following shorter period austenitisation and a matrix containing martensite and retained austenite on forced-air cooling. After continuous destabilisation, hardness falls below the as-cast value (HV622); whereas it rises to HV950 after cyclic destabilisation treatment. The as-cast notched impact toughness (4.0 J) increases to 8.5 J or more after both continuous and cyclic destabilisation at 1050 and 1100 °C. Abrasive wear resistance after continuous destabilisation improves only at higher wear load (49.0 N), while after cyclic destabilisation it supersedes the as-cast and Ni-Hard IV performance at both low (19.6 N) and high (49.9 N) wear load.     

Modeling and surface texturing on surface roughness in machining LaPO4–Y2O3 composite

In this work, lanthanum phosphate with a 20% yttria (LaPO₄/Y₂O₃) composite prepared by an Aqueous Sol–Gel process is machined using an Abrasive Water Jet Machine (AWJM). The machinability of this composite is studied by varying the input parameters namely Jet Pressure (JP), Stand-Off Distance (SOD), and Traverse Speed (TS) on Surface finish. Garnet of 80 mesh size is used as an abrasive with a flow rate of 85?g/min. The microstructural characterization study reveals the presence of new element YPO₄. This element enhances the machinability and reduced porosity in the composite. Microscopy examinations on the machined surface reveals that partial overlapping at low JP, poor surface finish at high JP and SOD, forged deficiency at maximum SOD and TS. The minimum levels of all input parameters are influenced to obtain acceptable Ra. Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) on the kerf surface shows micro wear track and peaks. The Multiple Regression Analysis (MRA) is developed for Ra to check the adequacy. From the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), SOD has a significant effect on Ra with a contribution of 53%. The influence of JP and TS on Ra is found to be 31% and 15%, respectively.     

Liquid yield from juniper and mesquite bio‐fuel gasification

Mesquite (Prosopis glandulosa) and redberry juniper (Juniperus pinchotii) are two woody species which dominate uncultivated lands in the south central Great Plains, USA (Texas, Oklahoma) and may have potential for bioenergy utilization. In this study, these two biomasses were gasified in an adiabatic, updraft fixed‐bed gasifier using air as medium. The products include low heating value gas and liquid tar yield. The effects of fuel moisture content and the equivalence ratio (ER) on liquid yields including heavy tar and light tar and higher heating value (HHV) of the producer gas were investigated. It was found that updraft gasifiers produce a large amount of tar, in a range of 100 g/Nm³ of gas produced. As the equivalence ratio (ER) increased (i.e. more rich char conditions), peak temperature (T_peak) within the bed decreased due to the lesser partial oxidization. The liquid yield showed peak value with change in moisture content between 6 and 24%. Heavy tar is a very high quality fuel with a higher heating value of over 29 MJ/kg on a dry, ash‐free (DAF) basis which is a slightly higher than that of ethanol. Electrospinning as a tool in fabricating hydrated porous cobalt phosphate fibrous network as high rate OER electrocatalysts in alkaline and neutral media

Electrospinning (ES) is a most reliable method for synthesizing one dimensional (1D) fibrous material. Fibrous materials are having peculiar interest owing to their fascinating properties. For efficient hydrogen fuel generation, electrocatalytic water splitting is one of the finest way of producing hydrogen in a pure form. But it is encountered by the counter oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in more often. As of now, noble metal based catalysts are utilized in the commercial sector. Some of the disadvantages associated with the noble materials are restrict their usage commercially. To address this issue, herein, we have synthesized One dimensional (1D), hydrated porous cobalt phosphate fibrous network by an ES method and act as an electrocatalyst for OER in both alkaline and neutral media for the first time, which exhibits an overpotential of 245 and 457 mV respectively at a current density of 10 mAcm^?2 with astonishing stability.     

Intelligent Water Management: a Triangular Type-2 Intuitionistic Fuzzy Matrix Games Approach

Matrix games with fuzzy payoffs have spread itself nowadays in diverse fields. Fuzzy game theory with triangular type-1 fuzzy numbers are visited more by researchers. In this paper, we consider matrix games with payoffs as triangular type-2 intuitionistic fuzzy numbers, i.e., Triangular Type-2 Intuitionistic Fuzzy Matrix Game (TT2IFMG) as a new and rare concept. A new ranking function is used to get relevant solutions of TT2IFMG. We are living in times of unprecedented scientific-technical advancement, yet facing several critical global problems that threaten human welfare and our ecosystem. Water management, a burning problem of the Earth now-a-days, is treated here under the scanner of TT2IFMG environment where we discuss some policy-management toward the free and fair accession of water against its limited resources.
