Viability and recovery of frozen-thawed human islets and in vivo quality control by xenotransplantation

In a murine model of Leishmania infantum visceral leishmaniasis, metronidazole, ketoconazole, fluconazole, itraconazole, and terbinafine were less effective than antimonial agents in reducing hepatic parasite load. Ketoconazole potentiated the effect of meglumine antimoniate reference therapy through its marked activity against spleen infection.

Zusammenfassung Die kombinierte Gaschromatographie-Massenspektrometrie mit gleichzeitiger Registrierung von zwei charakteristischen Ionen (Massenfragmentographie) ermöglicht bei der Bestimmung der polycyclischen aromatischen Kohlenwasserstoffe Benzfluoranthen, 1,2-Benzpyren und 3,4-Benzpyren eine erhebliche Verkürzung der Analysendauer und eine Steigerung der Nachweisempfindlichkeit im Vergleich zu herkömmlichen gaschromatographischen Methoden. Über die analytischen Erfahrungen bei der Untersuchung von geräucherten Fleischwaren wird berichtet.[/p]

Determination of 1,2- and 3,4-benzpyrene besides other polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in smoked meat products by mass fragmentography

Summary In comparison with conventional gas chromatographic methods the combined gas chromatography-mass spectrometry with monitoring of two characteristic ions (mass fragmentography) allows a considerable shortening of analysis length and an increase in sensitivity in the determination of the polycyclic aromatic. hydrocarbons benzfluoranthene, 1,2- and 3,4-benzpyrene. Analytical experiences in testing of smoked meat products are reported.[/p]

     

Crystallization and melting behaviour of plasticized poly(vinylidenechloride)

Summary The kinetic of the crystallization process of slightly plasticized poly(vinylidenechloride) at room temperature (296 K) can be observed by FTIR spectroscopy. In dependence on the amount of plasticizer the half-time for crystallization decreases due to an increased segmental mobility of the stiff PVDC chains.
