An urgent need exists for applicable methods to predict areas at risk of pesticide contamination within agricultural catchments. As such, an attempt was made to predict and validate contamination in nine separate sub-catchments of the Lourens River, South Africa, through use of a geographic information system (GIS)-based runoff model, which incorporates geographical catchment variables and physicochemical characteristics of applied pesticides. We compared the results of the prediction with measured contamination in water and suspended sediment samples collected during runoff conditions in tributaries discharging these sub-catchments. The most common insecticides applied and detected in the catchment over a 3-year sampling period were azinphos-methyl (AZP), chlorpyrifos (CPF) and endosulfan (END). AZP was predominantly found in water samples, while CPF and END were detected at higher levels in the suspended particle samples. We found positive (p<0.002) correlations between the predicted average loss and the concentrations of the three insecticides both in water and suspended sediments (r between 0.87 and 0.94). Two sites in the sub-catchment were identified as posing the greatest risk to the Lourens River mainstream. It is assumed that lack of buffer strips, presence of erosion rills and high slopes are the main variables responsible for the high contamination at these sites. We conclude that this approach to predict runoff-related surface water contamination may serve as a powerful tool for risk assessment and management in South African orchard areas.  相似文献

A field study at the Lourens River, South Africa, was undertaken during the pesticide application period between November 2001 and January 2002 in order to investigate the potential relation of agricultural pollution to the aquatic macroinvertebrate fauna. The upper regions of the Lourens River were free of contamination (LR1), whereas subsequent stretches flowing through a 400-ha orchard area (LR2) received transient insecticide peaks. Continuously operating suspended-particle samplers as well as flood samplers operating during runoff events were used to measure pesticide contamination. In addition, various physicochemical and morphological parameters were examined. A survey of the macroinvertebrate communities associated with the rocky substrates was carried out every three weeks. Community indices were calculated using the South African Scoring System (SASS 5) for bioassessment of water quality in rivers. The two sites differed in pesticide pollution as well as in average turbidity levels (LR1 5.5 mg/L; LR2 64.3 mg/L), but were similar in bottom substrate composition and most other abiotic factors. At the downstream site (LR2), pesticide values of 0.05 microg/L azinphos-methyl in water as well as 49 microg/kg azinphos-methyl, 94 microg/kg chlorpyrifos and 122 microg/kg total endosulfan in suspended particles were found during runoff conditions. The macroinvertebrate communities of the two sampling sites were similar in terms of number of total individuals, but differed significantly (ANOVA) in average number of taxa (LR1 11.7, LR2 8.9). Seven out of 17 investigated taxa occurred in significantly reduced numbers or were even absent at the downstream site LR2. The community characteristics determined by SASS 5 showed a significantly less sensitive community structure at the downstream site (TS 41; ASPT 4.6), indicating continuously lower water quality compared to site LR1 (TS 80; ASPT 6.9). It is concluded that the Lourens River macroinvertebrate communities are affected by agricultural pollution, with pesticides and increased turbidity as the most important stressors.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to obtain data about the contamination of different environmental compartments (102 surface water samples, 59 sediment samples and 165 eel samples) by polycyclic musks (HHCB, AHTN, ADBI, AHMI, and ATII) within the framework of an exposure monitoring program. Results for HHCB (Galaxolide) gave the following mean values in areas strongly polluted with sewage: surface water 1.59 micrograms l-1; sediment 0.92 mg kg-1 d.w. and eel 1513 micrograms kg-1 f.w. (in the edible portion) (6471 micrograms kg-1 lipid). The following average concentrations were found in waters hardly contaminated with sewage: surface water 0.07 microgram l-1, sediment < 0.02 mg kg-1 and eel 52 micrograms kg-1 f.w. (445 micrograms kg-1 lipid). Mean concentrations of 6.85 micrograms l-1 (maximum: 13.3 micrograms/l) could be measured at sewage treatment plants' outlets. It could be shown that these polycyclics are highly suited to use as indicators of the degree of contamination of waters with organic substances originating from sewage. A mean bioconcentration factor (BCF) on wet weight of 862 (HHCB) and 1069 (AHTN) for the transfer from water to eel under natural conditions could be calculated. A reconnaissance survey of the extent of metal contamination in the Rio Grande de Tarcoles river system of Costa Rica indicated high levels of chromium (Cr) in the fine-grain bed sediments (<60 μm) of tributaries downstream from leather tanneries (50–83 times Cr background or 3000–5000 μg/g). In the main channel of the river downstream of the San Jose urban area, Cr contamination in sediments was 4–6 times background and remained relatively constant over 50 km to the mouth of the river. Sediments from a mangrove swamp at the river mouth had Cr levels 2–3 times above background. Similar patterns of dilution were observed for lead (Pb) and zinc (Zn) sediment contamination, although the contamination levels were lower. The high affinity of Cr towards particulate phases, probably as Cr(III), allows the use of Cr contamination levels for delineating regions of deposition of fine-grained sediments and dilution of particle associated contaminants during transport and deposition.  相似文献

Contamination of vinyl chloride in shallow urban rivers in Osaka, Japan   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
Vinyl chloride (VC) contamination had taken place in heavily polluted shallow rivers (Taishogawa and lower Hiranogawa Rivers) in Osaka, Japan. VC concentrations ranged from below detection limit to 55.6 micrograms l-1 (mean: 3.35 micrograms l-1, standard deviation: 5.96 micrograms l-1). Of 55 volatile organic compounds (VOCs) analyzed, concentrations of cis-1,2-dichloroethene (c-DCE), tetrachloroethene (PCE) and trichloroethene (TCE) were significantly correlated to VC concentrations in the rivers, indicating that they share common sources. The four VOCs were invariably present at approximate relative ratios of about 1:2.7:1.5:0.31 (VC: c-DCE: PCE: TCE). The similarity between sampling dates in the distribution pattern of the four VOCs concentrations were observed, but their concentrations were different between the dates. The concentrations of the four VOCs decreased with distance down the river. A sample from the upper Taishogawa River in July 1997 had 55.6 micrograms l-1 of VC, 152 micrograms l-1 of c-DCE, 86.2 micrograms l-1 of PCE and 18.4 micrograms l-1 of TCE, respectively. These values are about an order of magnitude higher than the other sites over the study period and are likely indicative of point source inputs.  相似文献

Baseline levels of platinum in the blood, hair and urine of 21 adults from Sydney, Australia, and three adults from the relatively unpolluted area of Lord Howe Island, Australia, were determined by adsorptive voltammetry. The median concentrations of platinum in samples from residents in Sydney were: whole blood, 0.56 microgram Pt l-1; hair, 3.84 micrograms Pt kg-1; urine, 0.18 microgram Pt l-1 (0.23 microgram Pt g creatinine). Samples from residents of Lord Howe Island had platinum levels that were within the range of values of the corresponding samples from Sydney residents. For faeces samples, the median platinum concentration was 10.5 micrograms kg-1 FW. The excretion of platinum over a 4-day period was measured in one adult male. Urinary excretion of platinum was between 0.76 and 1.07 micrograms Pt day-1 and in faeces it was between 0.61 and 0.73 microgram Pt day-1. The concentrations of platinum in a range of foodstuffs from Sydney were between 8.11 micrograms kg-1 FW for liver and 0.13 microgram kg-1 FW for full-cream milk. This information as well as the amounts of these foods in hypothetical diets for Australians was used to calculate the total dietary intake of platinum. The average diet of a Sydney adult contains 1.44 micrograms of platinum per day (adult male, 1.73 micrograms Pt day-1; adult female, 1.15 micrograms Pt day-1). The uptake of dietary platinum from the gut was estimated to be at least 42% and, therefore, diet appears to make a substantial contribution to total platinum intake.  相似文献

Phosphorus runoff from agricultural fields amended with mineral fertilizers and manures has been linked to freshwater eutrophication. A rainfall simulation study was conducted to evaluate the effects of different rainfall intensities and P sources differing in water soluble P (WSP) concentration on P transport in runoff from soil trays packed with a Berks loam and grassed with annual ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.). Triple superphosphate (TSP; 79% WSP), low-grade super single phosphate (LGSSP; 50% WSP), North Carolina rock phosphate (NCRP; 0.5% WSP) and swine manure (SM; 70% WSP), were broadcast (100 kg total P ha-1) and rainfall applied at 25, 50 and 75 mm h-1 1, 7, 21, and 56 days after P source application. The concentration of dissolved reactive (DRP), particulate (PP), and total P (TP) was significantly (P<0.01) greater in runoff with a rainfall intensity of 75 than 25 mm h-1 for all P sources. Further, runoff DRP increased as P source WSP increased, with runoff from a 50 mm h-1 rain 1 day after source application having a DRP concentration of 0.25 mg L-1 for NCRP and 28.21 mg L-1 for TSP. In contrast, the proportion of runoff TP as PP was greater with low (39% PP for NCRP) than high WSP sources (4% PP for TSP) averaged for all rainfall intensities. The increased PP transport is attributed to the detachment and transport of undissolved P source particles during runoff. These results show that P source water solubility and rainfall intensity can influence P transport in runoff, which is important in evaluating the long-term risks of P source application on P transport in surface runoff.  相似文献

Runoff characteristics of nine kinds of herbicides from paddy fields were surveyed in the Kozakura River, that is one of the tributaries flowing into the Lake of Kasumigaura, over a period of 23 April to 30 June (before and after rice transplantation) of year. The flow rates of river water and the concentrations of herbicides in the river water were measured every day in May and every 2 days in April and June at six survey sites along the river. The runoff characteristics of herbicides were elucidated by taking account of the rainfall data, the detailed application data (application date and quantities of herbicides applied to each paddy field in a region), and their physico-chemical properties. The runoff rates (the runoff/application amounts ratio) were calculated for each herbicide, resulting in the range of 8.2-22.4%. The runoff rates were correlated fairly well with octanol-water partition coefficient, logP(ow), rather than with water solubility of herbicides.  相似文献

Samples of blood, sweat and urine were collected from eight control subjects and 19 lead workers in a battery manufacturing factory in the tropics. Sweat samples were collected while workers cycled on a bicycle ergometer at room temperature (27-31 degrees C). All samples were analysed by atomic absorption spectrophotometry. Workers with blood lead levels of 13-36 micrograms dl-1 had sweat levels of 72-256 micrograms l-1 and urinary levels of 28-288 micrograms/g creatinine, while controls had levels of 9-12.2 micrograms dl-1, 9-30 micrograms l-1 and 9-19.6 microgram/g creatinine, respectively. Estimations of sweat lead in lead workers can be masked by skin contamination.  相似文献

Measurements were made of 131I, 137Cs, 134Cs and 103Ru in environmental samples collected from Ibaraki-Prefecture, Japan, after the Chernobyl accident. The highest values of 131I obtained in May 1986 were 98 Bq l-1 (2.7 nCi l-1) for rain water (collected at the beginning of the rainfall), 400 Bq kg-1 (11 nCi kg-1) for pine needles (wet), 160 Bq kg-1 (4.3 nCi kg-1) for vegetables (wet) and 52 Bq kg-1 (1.4 nCi kg-1) for seaweed (wet). Most of the radioiodine in rain water was present as IO3- and I-. The proportion of IO3- in fresh rain water was higher than that of I-, but the IO3- was converted to I- during storage. About 10% of 131I was removed from leaf vegetables by washing, and about 70% by boiling.  相似文献

Current-use pesticides associated with suspended sediments were measured in the San Joaquin River, California and its tributaries during two storm events in 2008. Nineteen pesticides were detected: eight herbicides, nine insecticides, one fungicide and one insecticide synergist. Concentrations for the herbicides (0.1 to 3000 ng/g; median of 6.1 ng/g) were generally greater than those for the insecticides (0.2 to 51 ng/g; median of 1.5 ng/g). Concentrations in the tributaries were usually greater than in the mainstem San Joaquin River and the west side tributaries were higher than the east side tributaries. Estimated instantaneous loads ranged from 1.3 to 320 g/day for herbicides and 0.03 to 53 g/day for insecticides. The greatest instantaneous loads came from the Merced River on the east side. Instantaneous loads were greater for the first storm of 2008 than the second storm in the tributaries while the instantaneous loads within the San Joaquin River were greater during the second storm. Pesticide detections generally reflected pesticide application, but other factors such as physical-chemical properties and timing of application were also important to pesticide loads.  相似文献

Urban watercourses are potential hazards because of their rapid flow changes, poor water quality and contaminated sediments. This study is a preliminary field investigation into fine sediment-associated metal contamination and its transport dynamics in a highly urbanised catchment in West Yorkshire, UK. Spatial and temporal changes in the concentration of channel-bed sediment-associated metals are investigated, and the fluxes of selected suspended sediment-associated metals, during an extreme high flow event, are determined. Channel-bed sediments were more contaminated at the most heavily urbanised sites. Data suggest that contaminated bed sediments could accumulate and possibly become increasingly contaminated between high-flow events, prior to being flushed from the system. Fluxes of contaminated suspended sediments were very high at the peak of the high flow event. The spatial and temporal dynamics of contaminated fine sediment which were identified in this study could inform planners with regard to future monitoring strategies.  相似文献

Runoff from agricultural watersheds can carry a number of agricultural pollutants and pathogens; often associated with the sediment fraction. Deposition of this sediment can impact water quality and the ecology of the river, and the re-suspension of such sediment can become sources of contamination for reaches downstream. In this paper a modelling framework to predict sediment and associated microbial erosion, transport and deposition is proposed for the South Nation River, Ontario, Canada. The modelling framework is based on empirical relationships (deposition and re-suspension fluxes), derived from laboratory experiments in a rotating circular flume using sediment collected from the river bed. The bed shear stress governing the deposition and re-suspension processes in the stream was predicted using a one dimensional mobile boundary flow model called MOBED. Counts of live bacteria associated with the suspended and bed sediments were used in conjunction with measured suspended sediment concentration at an upstream section to allow for the estimation of sediment associated microbial erosion, transport and deposition within the modelled river reach. Results suggest that the South Nation River is dominated by deposition periods with erosion only occurring at flows above approximately 250 m3 s−1 (above this threshold, all sediment (suspended and eroded) with associated bacteria are transported through the modelled reach). As microbes are often associated with sediments, and can survive for extended periods of time, the river bed is shown to be a possible source of pathogenic organisms for erosion and transport downstream during large storm events. It is clear that, shear levels, bacteria concentrations and suspended sediment are interrelated requiring that these parameters be studied together in order to understand aquatic microbial dynamics. It is important that any management strategies and operational assessments for the protection of human and aquatic health incorporate the sediment compartments (suspended and bed sediment) and the energy dynamics within the system in order to better predict the concentration of indicator organism.  相似文献

An experimental catchment area was set up in the centre of Paris (France) so as to follow up the quality of wet weather flows from the entry to the exit of a combined sewer network. The distinctive characteristic of this site is its location in a town centre and the extent of the equipment used to monitor the water pollution over the whole length of its course through the catchment area. The results obtained show a change in quality between the runoff entering the sewer network and the combined storm water flow at the sewer's outlet, which cannot be explained only by the mixture with domestic wastewater. In particular, an increase was observed in the concentrations of suspended solids (SS), VSS, COD, BOD and Cu, in the proportion of pollutants linked to particles and in the characteristics of the particles. A calculation of the total masses going in and out of the sewer network during a rainfall event shows that the erosion of in-sewer pollution stocks is the main source of particles and of organic matter in wet weather flows, whereas heavy metals loads originated from roof runoff, due to the corrosion of metallic roofs. Particles eroded from the sewer sediments during rain events were found to be quite different from the particles of type A deposits and organic biofilms. Nevertheless, they have mean organic and metallic loads that are of the same order of magnitude as the particles of the organic layer at water sediment interface. A change in the chemical form of heavy metals was noticed during the transport in the sewer and it is suspected that a fraction of the dissolved metals from the runoff is adsorbed on sewer sediments.  相似文献

Artisanal gold mining (AGM) with metallic mercury has a long history in Ghana. It is believed to be over 2,000 years old. Today, AGM has escalated in a new dimension consuming about half of the country where gold lode deposits exist along riverbanks or rivers are alluvial-gold rich. The Pra River in southwestern Ghana is a site of on going application of metallic mercury in prospecting gold, and this paper examines mercury (Hg) contamination in the different environmental compartments in its watershed. Samples of water, sediment, soil and biota (i.e., human hair and fish) were collected from locations along the course of the river during the rainy and dry seasons of 2002 and 2003, respectively. Besides the obvious Hg point sources along the Pra and its tributaries, the obtained results show that Hg levels and speciation in the studied aquatic system are controlled by precipitation, which drives the hydrology and differences in flow regimes versus seasons. The seasonal difference in Hg speciation suggests that methyl mercury (MeHg) found in the aqueous phase and riverine sediments is likely of terrestrial origin where its production is favored during the rainy season by high soil water and organic matter content. The use of the enrichment factor (EF) for the assessment of sediment quality indicated moderate to severe contamination of surface sediments in the rainy season, while in the dry season, the EF index indicates nearly no pollution of surface sediments. Accordingly, most of the Hg introduced into this river system is likely transported to depositional downstream terminal basins (e.g. the river delta and the Gulf of Guinea). With regard to biota, Hg measured in hair in the dry period was higher than data obtained on samples collected during the wet period. This could be explained at least in part by the shift in diet as a result of abundance of fish in the local markets and the concurrent increase and more active fishing during the dry season. Mercury data obtained on a very limited number of fish samples collected during the dry period only are also presented.  相似文献

The present study constitutes a comparison of mercury in surface soil and river sediments of a contaminated and an uncontaminated area of Venezuela. In the contaminated area, gold prospectors have been using mercury to separate gold from auriferous sand and rock powders for many years. The baseline level of mercury in the river sediments of the uncontaminated area (Manzanares River, Sucre State) was 0.06 micrograms g-1, while in the contaminated area in the Roscio District of Bolivar State the concentration varied from 0.12 to 129 micrograms g-1. In the river sediments the average level of mercury was 0.71 micrograms g-1 and in the surface soil of the working areas 37 micrograms g-1, which shows a significant increase in the mercury level in the contaminated areas. This high level of mercury in the soil and sediments constitutes a serious risk to public health in the contaminated area, where the local people use the water for drinking and other domestic purposes; moreover, they also consume fish from these rivers.  相似文献

The concentrations of organochlorine pesticides (OCPs =p,p'DDT, p,p'DDD, p,p'DDE, alpha-HCH and gamma-HCH) were measured in the sediments, water and burbot (whole liver and liver lipids) of eight Russian Arctic rivers near their outflows to the Arctic Ocean between 1988 and 1994. DDT was not detected in any river sediments above the limit of quantification (LOQ) of 2.5 ng g(-1) dry wt. Concentrations of DDD and DDE were only found in three of the river sediments above the LOQ of 0.75 ng g(-1) dry wt. DDT and DDE were present in only North Dvina and Pechora river water above the LOQ of 5 ng l(-1), while DDD was not found in any river above this limit. Both alpha- and gamma-HCH were found in all river sediments except for the Kolyma River at concentrations up to 2.4 and 3.5 ng g(-1) dry wt., respectively. In river water, alpha-HCH was as high as 8.6 ng l(-1) in the Ob River and gamma-HCH as high as 7.6 ng l(-1) in the Pechora River. The concentration of both sigmaDDT and sigmaHCH decreased to LOQ levels by about 1992 in both water and sediments. sigmaDDT (up to 70 ng g(-1) wet wt.) and sigmaHCH (maximum 18 ng g(-1) wet wt.) in burbot livers followed a similar temporal trend as in water and sediments. There is a scarcity of OCP data for Russia, but from what is available, we conclude that: (1) contamination of Russian rivers and burbot by OCPs is less severe in the Arctic than at lower latitudes; (2) contamination of Russian Arctic burbot is comparable to, or lower than, similar OCP contamination measured in burbot and other fish in other countries; and (3) the OCP concentrations in Russian burbot pose a negligible health risk to either humans or wildlife.  相似文献

Shorthorn sculpin (Myoxocephalus scorpius), polar cod (Boreogadus saida), blue mussels (Mytilus edulis) and sediments were sampled in Greenland 1994-1995 at three locations at the west coast and one at the east coast. Fish liver, mussel soft tissue and sediments were analysed for PCBs (10 congeners), DDTs (pp,'), HCHs (alpha, beta, gamma), HCB and trans-nonachlor. The overall geometric mean concentrations found for PCBs were 17 micrograms kg-1 wet wt. in shorthorn sculpin liver, 33 micrograms kg-1 wet wt. in polar cod liver, and 0.86 microgram kg-1 wet wt. in blue mussels. For the three species, the geometric mean concentrations for DDTs were 11, 36, and 0.39 micrograms kg-1 wet wt., respectively; for HCHs: 8.7, 32 and 0.56 micrograms kg-1 wet wt., respectively; for HCB: 4.2, 11 and 0.06 micrograms kg-1 wet wt., respectively; and for trans-nonachlor: 6.3, 19 and 0.16 microgram kg-1 wet wt., respectively. All organochlorines in the sediment samples were below the detection limit of 0.1 microgram kg-1 dry weight. For sculpins and mussels, most organochlorine compounds were found to increase with increasing lipid content. The weight of mussels did not influence organochlorine concentrations, whereas organochlorine content in general increased with fish length of sculpins. The concentrations were found to be comparable to levels in other Arctic regions, but orders of magnitude lower than levels found in the southern part of the North Sea. Organochlorine concentrations in sculpins showed a decreasing trend following the ocean current flowing from north to south at the east coast and from south towards north at the west coast of Greenland. The proportion of higher chlorinated PCBs (Cl atoms > or = 6) in sculpin liver followed the decreasing trend of PCB concentrations.  相似文献

Studies of the suspended and dissolved phases of the pond water, material collected from sediment traps, and surficial sediments/tailings from the flooded tailings pond at Stekenjokk have been performed. The aim was to characterise the material, to study the seasonal variations and to quantify possible resuspension of the tailings in the pond. The element concentrations in the pond at Stekenjokk seem to be largely controlled by processes controlling the precipitation and dissolution of Mn- and Fe-oxyhydroxides in both the water column and in the surficial tailings. Physiochemical processes such as weathering of silicates on the surrounding mountain slopes or dykes contributes both dissolved elements and detrital particles. The suspended phase consists of detrital silicate material as well as Fe- and Mn-oxyhydroxides. The average heavy metal concentrations are high, e.g. 0.42% Cu, 0.15% Pb and 3.1% Zn, which is probably due to sorption onto Fe- and Mn-oxyhydroxides. The suspended phase is richer in Fe, and particularly Mn, during the winter. The suspended phase resembles the material collected in sediment traps and the material in the surficial sediments. The pond water is well mixed during the ice-free season. The dissolved heavy metal concentrations are generally rather low with, e.g. maximum concentrations of 2.03 micrograms/l Cu, 0.23 microgram/l Pb and 268 micrograms/l Zn during the winter. Higher dissolved concentrations are found below the ice-cover above the sediment surface during the winter, caused by diffusion of elements from the sediment-water interface up into the pond water. Most of the metals occurring in the pond are dissolved and resuspension of tailings is negligible.  相似文献

Total mercury (THg) concentrations in streams draining cultivated watersheds in Minnesota, USA are strongly correlated with total suspended sediment (TSS) concentrations, varying widely in response to precipitation-driven inputs of soil-derived suspended sediments. Methylmercury (MeHg) concentrations in these waterways have not been studied, and little is known about mercury uptake mechanisms in resident fish populations. To begin to identify factors influencing MeHg concentrations and loadings in these streams, we measured THg and MeHg concentrations in unfiltered whole water samples from the Minnesota River and two of its major tributaries, the Blue Earth and Le Sueur Rivers. Land use in the watersheds of these rivers is over 90% row-crop agriculture, and extensive artificial drainage systems deliver runoff and associated solids quickly to local streams and rivers. THg concentrations were elevated (>10 ng/l) during much of Spring 2000 and part of the summer when runoff from precipitation events increased stream discharge and carried soil materials into the streams. Reduced precipitation resulted in low flow conditions from August through October, and THg concentrations decreased to <4.0 ng/l in all three rivers. MeHg concentrations in the Le Sueur River ranged from 0.07 to 0.42 ng/l between June and December. Higher MeHg concentrations (>0.2 ng/l) were measured during summer months when THg and TSS concentrations were high after precipitation events. Elevated MeHg concentrations were also observed in late October after leaf litter inputs. Conditions on the Blue Earth River were different, with elevated MeHg concentrations (>0.5 ng/l) observed during low flow in August and September. These higher concentrations coincided with a period of enhanced microbial growth stimulated by high late-summer temperatures. A late-October increase in MeHg concentration attributed to leaf litter inputs was also observed in this river. MeHg concentration trends in the Minnesota River were similar to those in the Blue Earth River. Indicators of biological productivity (chlorophyll a, volatile suspended solids, and total Kjeldahl nitrogen) were higher in the Blue Earth and Minnesota Rivers compared to the Le Sueur River, which may signal a connection between higher biological activity and increased MeHg concentrations.  相似文献
