It has been observed that human limb motions are not very accurate, leading to the hypothesis that the human motor control system may have simplified motion commands at the expense of motion accuracy. Inspired by this hypothesis, we propose learning schemes that trade motion accuracy for motion command simplification. When the original complex motion commands capable of tracking motion accurately are reduced to simple forms, the simplified motion commands can then be stored and manipulated by using learning mechanisms with simple structures and scanty memory resources, and they can be executed quickly and smoothly. We also propose learning schemes that can perform motion command scaling, so that simplified motion commands can be provided for a number of similar motions of different movement distances and velocities without recalculating system dynamics. Simulations based on human motions are reported that demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed learning schemes in implementing this accuracy-simplification tradeoff. 相似文献

Two experiments investigated the cognitive efficiency of using speech recognition in combination with the mouse and keyboard for a range of word processing tasks. The first experiment examined the potential of this multimodal combination to increase performance by engaging concurrent multiple resources. Speech and mouse responses were compared when using menu and direct (toolbar icon) commands, making for a fairer comparison than in previous research which has been biased against the mouse. Only a limited basis for concurrent resource use was found, with speech leading to poorer task performance with both command types. Task completion times were faster with direct commands for both speech and mouse responses, and direct commands were preferred. In the second experiment, participants were free to choose command type, and nearly always chose to use direct commands with both response modes. Speech performance was again worse than mouse, except for tasks which involved a large amount of hand and eye movement, or where direct speech wasused but mouse commands were made via menus. In both experiments recognition errors were low, and although they had some detrimental effect on speech use, problems in combining speech and manual modes were highlighted. Potential verbal interference effects when using speech are discussed. 相似文献

Shaped commands are used to eliminate residual oscillations of crane payloads. Command jerks are detrimental to the safe and efficient operation of cranes. Smooth shaped commands are recommended to avoid such jerks in motion commands to crane motors. The amplitude of the shaped command is governed by its time length. The time length of the shaped command is highly dependent on the natural period of oscillation of the payload. A flexible time length of the shaped command introduces flexibility in selecting the desired command amplitude that would lead to a reduced stress on the crane actuators. In this work, a smooth wave‐form acceleration command is proposed to eliminate residual oscillations in rest‐to‐rest maneuvers of cranes. The proposed shaped command is derived analytically. The system performance is simulated numerically and validated experimentally on a scaled model of an overhead crane. The proposed wave‐form is further modified to relax the dependence of the profile on the natural period of oscillation of the payload. 相似文献

This paper presents a method of controlling robot manipulators with fuzzy voice commands. Recently, there has been some research on controlling robots using information-rich fuzzy voice commands such as 'go little slowly' and learning from such commands. However, the scope of all those works was limited to basic fuzzy voice motion commands. In this paper, we introduce a method of controlling the posture of a manipulator using complex fuzzy voice commands. A complex fuzzy voice command is composed of a set of fuzzy voice joint commands. Complex fuzzy voice commands can be used for complicated maneuvering of a manipulator, while fuzzy voice joint commands affect only a single joint. Once joint commands are learned, any complex command can be learned as a combination of some or all of them, so that, using the learned complex commands, a human user can control the manipulator in a complicated manner with natural language commands. Learning of complex commands is discussed in the framework of fuzzy coach–player model. The proposed idea is demonstrated with a PA-10 redundant manipulator. 相似文献

This article considers the success rates in a multimodal command language for home robot users. In the command language, the
user specifies action types and action parameter values to direct robots in multiple modes such as speech, touch, and gesture.
The success rates of commands in the language can be estimated by user evaluations in several ways. This article presents
some user evaluation methods, as well as results from recent studies on command success rates. The results show that the language
enables users without much training to command home robots at success rates as high as 88%–100%. It is also shown that multimodal
commands combining speech and button-press actions included fewer words and were significantly more successful than single-modal
