To increase accurateness and reliability of the evaluation of power tool vibration transmitted to an operator, it is necessary
to measure the grip and feed forces during the measurement of hand-transmitted vibration. In the study a system was invented
to measure the vibration and the grip and/or feed force, which consists of a measurement handle and a PC with a data acquisition
system and the corresponding software. Strain gages and an accelerometer were mounted on the handle surface for the simultaneous
measurement of the forces and the vibration. The program in the system makes it possible to monitor the grip and feed force
during the tool operation so that the operator keeps the applying forces within the pre-determined range. Investigating the
vibration total values, frequency-weighted root-mean-square accelerations at the handle, obtained in repetition for each power
tool with control of the grip and feed force showed more consistency than those measured without force control. By using the
system the experimenter can reduce uncertainty in measurement of hand-held power tool vibration. 相似文献

To date, a large part of workers is exposed to vibrations (23% in Europe) which can negatively impact on their health. This work discusses the importance of measuring grip and push forces in the context of hand-arm vibration tests, bearing in mind the state-of-art of current standards. It proposes a method for indirect measurement of coupling forces using a matrix of polymeric pressure capacitive sensors and discusses the model used for defining these quantities. The matrix of pressure sensors is wrapped around the tool handle and the acting forces, exchanged with the handle, are derived from the pressure values measured by the matrix. Calibration is presented and the effect of curvature is discussed. The work continues with the experimental validation of the model proposed for push force measurements carried out through lifting tests using known masses with a cylindrical handle. An experimental correction coefficient is defined in correlation to the type of grip. The method for measuring the push force, thus corrected, is assessed by means of push force tests on an instrumented handle. Finally the experimental data are analysed in order to assess the uncertainty of the proposed method for measuring the push force, highlighting the contribution of the different sources of uncertainty. The proposed measurement method allows to measure the push and the grip force (known influencing quantities for the measurement of the hand-arm vibration) during tool test and without modifying the handles. 相似文献

Although high strengths up to 1,500 MPa can be obtained by means of hot stamping, the strength and uniformity of components cannot be guaranteed during mass production if the cooling channel is not properly designed. In this paper, we propose a method for designing the cooling channel by means of the energy balance principle and arrangement methods such as the triangular method, tool split, and the connection rule for 2D sections to improve the strength and uniformity of hot stamped components. Two separate approaches for designing the cooling channel are suggested. One is to reduce facility and maintenance costs, and the other is to reduce the cooling cycle time, which critically affects productivity. These approaches were applied to hot stamping tools for manufacturing a roof side that is used as part of the structure of an automobile. Cooling performance and cooling uniformity of the designed cooling channel were verified with finite element simulation. Finally, hot stamping tools for manufacturing a roof side were designed to reduce cooling cycle time and were then manufactured to verify the proposed design methods. A roof side was manufactured by means of the hot stamping tools with the designed cooling channel, and the strength and the uniformity of the component were evaluated by means of a tensile test, observation of the microstructure, and measurement of the micro-Vickers hardness. 相似文献

This paper comprehensively studies assembly process design (APD) to handle variety and presents a new approach to strategically manage manufacturing complexities because of product varieties. It links the chronological steps of APD to a general approach with a view to reduce both short and long term wastes. It synthesizes two strategic approaches, product and process-based, while exploiting the APD of an entire product family. A new evaluation method for measuring the complexities of an assembly system at different stages of design has been introduced by applying information entropy. The developed evaluation methodology explains the available techniques related to design, interprets them from a design for variety point of view, and leads to techniques to manage complexities in manufacturing. The suggested methodology has been applied to examples from automobile part manufacturers and has been found to be effective in understanding the complexities in manufacturing and leading to some strategies to manage variety. 相似文献
