A common perception is that there are two competing visions for the future evolution of the Web: the Semantic Web and Web 2.0. In fact, Semantic Web technologies must integrate with Web 2.0 services for both to leverage each other's strengths. This paper illustrates how Semantic Web technologies can support information integration and make it easy to create semantic mashups. An intelligent recommendation system for tourism is presented to show the efficiency of our method. Through the ontology of tourism, the system allows the integration of heterogeneous online travel information. An integrated knowledge process is developed to guarantee the whole engineering procedure. Based on the Bayesian network technique, the system recommends tourist attractions to a user by taking into account the travel behavior both of the user and of other users. Web services promise the interoperability of various applications running on heterogeneous platforms over the Internet, and are gaining more and more attention. Web service composition refers to the process of combining Web services to provide value-added services, which has received much interest in supporting enterprize application integration. Industry standards for Web Service composition, such as WSBPEL, provide the notation and additional control mechanisms for the execution of business processes in Web service collaborations. However, these standards do not provide support for checking interesting properties related to Web Service and process behavior. In an attempt to fill this gap, we describe a formalization of WSBPEL business processes, that adds communications semantics to the specifications of interacting Web services, and uses a formal logic to model their dynamic behavior, which enables their formal analysis and the inference of relevant properties of the systems being built.  相似文献

随着服务计算的快速发展,涉及多领域的Web服务的规模迅速增加,其中SOAP服务和REST服务最为流行,已广泛应用于各行业中。然而,针对于这两种服务的性能表现,仍缺少相应的实验比较。使用在Programmable Web爬取的公共数据集进行相关实验,用以比较SOAP服务和REST服务的性能表现。为了提高实验结果的准确性,实验在中国、法国和美国3个不同的地理位置进行创建,最终结果显示REST服务相较于SOAP服务在响应时间、数据包大小和吞吐量方面表现更加优异。  相似文献

A common perception is that there are two competing visions for the future evolution of the Web: the Semantic Web and Web 2.0. A closer look, though, reveals that the core technologies and concerns of these two approaches are complementary and that each field can and must draw from the other’s strengths. We believe that future Web applications will retain the Web 2.0 focus on community and usability, while drawing on Semantic Web infrastructure to facilitate mashup-like information sharing. However, there are several open issues that must be addressed before such applications can become commonplace. In this paper, we outline a semantic weblogs scenario that illustrates the potential for combining Web 2.0 and Semantic Web technologies, while highlighting the unresolved issues that impede its realization. Nevertheless, we believe that the scenario can be realized in the short-term. We point to recent progress made in resolving each of the issues as well as future research directions for each of the communities.  相似文献

AJAX (asynchronous JavaScript and XML) is a powerful Web development model for browser-based Web applications. While Web services essentially are universally accessible software components deployed on the Web and designed to support interoperable machine-to-machine interaction over a network. Because technologies that support both AJAX and Web services are XML-based, the two can leverage each others' strengths. More and more companies and organizations are taking advantage of this relationship, working to improve their Web applications through AJAX and Web services. Our system integrates the two for Web-based cooperative image editing. For message exchange delays and browser security limitations have hampered Web-based cooperative image editing. Web services technology is critical for the success of business integration and other application fields such as bioinformatics. However, there are two challenges facing the practicality of Web services: (a) efficient location of the Web service registries that contain the requested Web services and (b) efficient retrieval of the requested services from these registries with high quality of service (QoS). The main reason for this problem is that current Web services technology is not semantic-oriented. Several proposals have been made to add semantics to Web services to facilitate discovery and composition of relevant Web services. Such proposals are being referred to as semantic Web services (SWS). However, most of these proposals do not address the second problem of retrieval of web services with high QoS. In this paper, we propose a framework called soft semantic Web services agent (soft SWS agent) for providing high QoS Semantic Web services using soft computing methodology. Since different application domains have different requirement for QoS, it is impractical to use classical mathematical modeling methods to evaluate the QoS of semantic Web services. We use fuzzy neural networks with Genetic Algorithms (GA) as our study case. Simulation results show that the soft computing methodology is practicable to handle fuzzy and uncertain QoS metrics effectively.  相似文献

Web services registries are a cornerstone for the emerging service-oriented architecture and constitute a critical resource for Web services. We systematically illustrate and evaluate current registries and compare different approaches regarding their architectures and data models in the context of two views: the human and Web service based views. We use these views to show the different requirements and to illustrate the different abstractions when comparing Web service registries. The human view on Web service registry architectures is illustrated with the help of a case study. The Web service view on Web services registry architectures is illustrated from a software-service point of view. The data model of Web service registries is described in detail from a machine based view. The corresponding human view is described from an abstract level. Web service publishing and discovery are compared from a human and a Web service based view. Finally, we present a working example that uses our methodology to compare different Web service registries and to explain the different views introduced in this paper. Systems and infrastructures are currently being developed to support Web services. The main idea is to encapsulate an organization's functionality within an appropriate interface and advertise it as Web services. While in some cases Web services may be utilized in an isolated form, it is normal to expect Web services to be integrated as part of workflow processes. The composition of workflow processes that model e-service applications differs from the design of traditional workflows, in terms of the number of tasks (Web services) available to the composition process, in their heterogeneity, and in their autonomy. Therefore, two problems need to be solved: how to efficiently discover Web services—based on functional and operational requirements—and how to facilitate the interoperability of heterogeneous Web services. In this paper, we present a solution within the context of the emerging Semantic Web that includes use of ontologies to overcome some of the problem. We describe a prototype that has been implemented to illustrate how discovery and interoperability functions are achieved more efficiently.  相似文献

The objective of this paper is to discuss how to sustain the growth of Web services through the use of communities. A community aims at gathering Web services with the same functionality independently of their origins, locations, and functioning. To make Web services more responsive to the environment in which they run and to be more flexible when managing communities, Web services are associated with software agents enhanced with argumentation capacities. This type of agents persuade and negotiate with other peers for the sake of letting their respective Web services reach their goals in an efficient way. Associating Web services with this type of agents allows them to select good communities and allow the communities to host the good Web services and to select the best ones for composite scenarios. Furthermore, this provides satisfactory solutions for three open problems: starvation (Web services refuse all the possibilities of joining communities), competition-free (Web services accept joining any community without being selective), and unfairness (always the same Web services members of a community are selected out of many others to participate in composite scenarios). In addition, the paper presents a formal and computational persuasive and negotiation protocol to manage the attraction and retainment of Web services in the communities and their identification for composite services.  相似文献
