Barley and winter wheat were sampled over 3 years to characterize soil-borne organisms involved with cereal crown and root disease complexes. Winter wheat crowns were infected more often by Fusarium avenaceum and F. sambucinum than barley crowns. Bipolaris sorokiniana and F. graminearum were more common in crown tissue of barley underseeded with clover than in winter wheat crowns. In roots, the incidence of F. avenaceum was highest in winter wheat. In soil, populations of Rhizoctonia solani and F. sambucinum were higher in winter wheat than barley underseeded with ryegrass. Stunt nematodes (Tylenchorhynchus spp.) were greatest in winter wheat and barley underseeded with ryegrass. The incidence of F. avenaceum in roots of winter wheat correlated positively with the severity of crown and root rot symptoms. The severity of barley crown and root rot correlated positively with the incidence of R. solani in crowns, F. avenaceum in crowns and roots, B. sorokiniana in roots, and numbers of stunt nematodes in the soil. The incidence of soil-borne organisms was also recorded in annual ryegrass. soybean, potato, pea, and clover which were grown in rotation with barley and winter wheat. The incidence of R. solani and F. avenaceum was highest in clover crown tissue, and F. sambucinum was prevalent in soybean hypocotyls. Soil population levels of R. solani, F. avenaceum , and stunt nematodes were greatest in ryegrass and pea soil just prior to ploughing down or harvesting these crops, respectively.  相似文献

为明确河南省小麦根腐线虫病的发生危害情况及其病原线虫种类,对14个县(市)45个采样点小麦根腐线虫进行了分离调查,分别通过人工接种测定其致病性和杀线剂处理研究其危害性,并采用形态学和分子生物学方法鉴定其病原。结果显示:小麦根腐线虫在河南省的分布具有一定的区域性,中北部的10个县(市)34个沙质土壤采样点均分离出小麦根腐线虫,而在南部土壤粘重地区的小麦根内和土壤中均没有分离出根腐线虫;15%涕灭威颗粒剂处理土壤后小麦的穗粒数、千粒重和单位面积产量较对照明显上升,产量增加13.6%;该线虫能够侵染小麦,并明显抑制小麦生长;河南省小麦根腐线虫以敏捷短体线虫Pratylenchus agilis为主。  相似文献

The susceptibility of 24 winter and 17 summer crops to infection by Bipolaris sorokiniana was tested in a glasshouse experiment by growing them in soil amended with wheat-barley grain colonized by B. sorokiniana (0.2 g per 100 g soil). At anthesis, infection of both lesioned and randomly selected segments of roots and of crowns was determined by plating them on modified Czapek-Dox Agar. Incidence of infection in winter crops was higher than in summer crops. Guar, mung bean, soybean and sunflower were the least infected of the summer crops while chickpeas and safflower were the least infected of the winter crops. Amongst the taxonomic groups tested, the highest incidence of infection occurred in the gramineous species and the lowest in the leguminous species.
Five summer crops growing in the field were sampled and infection by B. sorokiniana confirmed. Cultivars of wheat, barley, triticale and oats were also screened in a field experiment. Amongst these winter cereals, oats was the least susceptible in both field and glasshouse experiments. Differences between cultivars in susceptibility to common root rot, measured by the degree of lesion development in the subcrown internode, were identified in wheat, triticale and oats but not in barley.  相似文献

A 2-year study investigated the relationship between the nematicides aldicarb and fosthiazate and populations of plant growth-promoting (PGP) and plant-growth-inhibiting (PGI) bacteria, and root-lesion nematodes and bacteria-feeding nematodes in the root-zone soils of potatoes. Fewer ( P  < 0.05) bacterial genera and species were recovered from aldicarb-treated soils than from the fosthiazate and untreated soils but bacterial population densities were greatest in the aldicarb-treated soils. In potato plantlet bioassays using root-zone bacteria from the three soil sources, bacteria from the aldicarb-treated soils reduced ( P  < 0.01) the mean wet and dry weight of shoots and roots compared with those from the fosthiazate and untreated soils. In the field, fosthiazate (but not aldicarb) significantly increased tuber yields and reduced nematode population densities of Pratylenchus penetrans in roots and soil. Population densities of bacteria-feeding nematodes (primarily Diplogaster lheritieri ) were not affected by either nematicide. Aldicarb appeared to suppress the populations of plant-growth-promoting bacteria that contribute to enhanced growth in potatoes. This is attributed to the long-term use of aldicarb at the trial site, which may have encouraged the selection, or adaptation, of soil microorganisms that degrade carbamate pesticides but do not enhance potato growth.  相似文献

The effects of root‐knot nematodes on black root rot of watermelon and bottle gourd were studied using field surveys and co‐inoculation tests with Meloidogyne incognita (southern root‐knot nematode) and Diaporthe sclerotioides. The results of the field survey suggested that root‐knot nematodes had little effect on either the severity of black root rot or infection with D. sclerotioides. None of the three fields showed a significant positive correlation between disease severity and nematode gall index, with low correlation coefficients. Co‐inoculation experiments under controlled conditions found no significant effect of root‐knot nematodes on black root rot of watermelon and bottle gourd based on area under disease progress curves (AUDPC). These results were supported by the quantities of DNA of the two agents in root tissues because no significant difference was found between dual‐ and single‐inoculation treatments with M. incognita and/or D. sclerotioides. These findings suggest that root‐knot nematodes probably do not affect the infection of watermelon or bottle gourd roots by D. sclerotioides or the incidence of black root rot in these crops caused by this fungus.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: The widespread acceptance of reduced‐tillage farming in cereal cropping systems in the Pacific Northwest of the United States has resulted in increased use of herbicides for weed control. However, soil residual concentrations of widely used imidazalone herbicides limit the cultivation of barley, which is more sensitive than wheat. In addition, increased severity of the root rot disease caused by Rhizoctonia solani is associated with reduction in tillage. Many crops exhibit altered disease responses after application of registered herbicides. In this study, the injury symptoms in barley caused by sublethal rates of two acetolactate synthase (ALS)‐inhibiting herbicides, imazamox and propoxycarbazone‐sodium, were assessed in factorial combinations with a range of inoculum concentrations of the root rot pathogen Rhizoctonia solani AG‐8. RESULTS: Both herbicides and pathogen had negative impacts on plant growth parameters such as root and shoot dry weight, shoot height and first leaf length, and interactions between pathogen and herbicide were detected. CONCLUSIONS: The results suggested that sublethal rates of herbicides and R. solani could alter severity of injury symptoms, possibly owing to the herbicide predisposing the plant to the pathogen. The effect of injury on disease incidence, incubation period and lesion development rate on caraway roots by Mycocentrospora acerina was studied in three laboratory experiments. After inoculation with M. acerina, disease incidence of injured roots was significantly (P< 0.001) higher than of non-injured roots. The incubation period of M. acerina was significantly (P < 0.001) shorter on injured roots than on non-injured roots. The incubation period shortened with increasing root injury level. Younger injured roots tended to be more resistant to M. acerina infection than older injured roots, expressed by longer incubation periods. The lesion development rate was, on average, higher on heavily injured roots than on non- or slightly injured roots. The lesion development rate remained fairly constant after the first emergence of the symptoms on the caraway root, until the whole root was colonized. Caraway roots carefully dug up in autumn frequently showed injuries enabling M. acerina to penetrate the roots. However, the correlation between root injury and root rot after cold storage was weak. Injury of roots had a stimulating effect on infection and development of M. acerina, but roots without wounds could be infected too. Some relevant field observations are discussed.  相似文献

Dryland root rot of wheat and barley in South Australia is a syndrome from which the associated fungi Fusarium equiseti, F. acuminatum, F. oxysporum and Bipolaris sorokiniana were isolated consistently. Fusarium infections were concentrated on the subcrown internodes, crown roots and culm bases, and occurred with equal frequency on wheat and barley. Bipolaris infections were more numerous on barley than on wheat, and were concentrated on culm bases and subcrown internodes. Recoveries of each of the four fungi showed a pattern of infection that was neither randomly nor evenly distributed. Each fungus had preferences for certain sites which resulted in a stratified distribution over the roots and crown. When two barley cultivars were compared, the patterns of infection were different; the subcrown internode was attacked more severely, and there was a substantial increase in the amount of infection by all four fungi on one of the cultivars. Pathogenicity tests on barley and oats showed that all four species of fungi were capable of causing damage to roots, but there were differences between isolates of each fungus and differences in their ability to damage barley and oats.  相似文献

A 3-year field study examined the effects of 1,3-dichloropropene or oxamyl on tuber yields in four early- and five late-maturing potato cultivars. The nematicide treatments increased total tuber yield by ≈ 12% for early-maturing cultivars, but by less than 2% for the late-maturing cultivars. The treatments reduced the numbers of root lesion nematodes (primarily Pratylenchus penetrans ), which were the dominant plant parasitic nematodes at the site. Covariance analysis indicated that treatment effects on total tuber yield were no longer significant after adjusting for root lesion nematodes in soil at harvest, confirming that these nematodes had a direct effect on the host. As expected, there were significant inverse relationships ( P  = 0·05) between total tuber yields and numbers of root lesion nematodes in soil and in roots. However, the application of nematicides in late-maturing cultivars was found to be of no practical value. Crop production systems designed to reduce or optimize pesticide applications can form one criterion in the development of more environmentally sensitive management strategies. The merit of utilizing chemicals for root lesion nematode control are considered with regard to cultivar maturity.  相似文献

 Root rot of American ginseng (Panax quinquefolium) caused by Ditylenchus destructor is a novel disease found recently in Beijing area. The effects of three soil treatments (fumigating with chloropicrin, chloropicrin + lvfeng organic manure and nematicide fosthiazate) on the number of rhizospheric nematodes, survived plants, root yield and root rot of 3-year ginseng plant were compared. The effects were also investigated at the second year after treatment. The results indicated that the number of parasitic nematodes in rhizosphere of treated soil reached the peak value in late June to early July as the soil temperature raised in the growing season. Compared with the regular treatment, the number of plant parasitic nematodes was reduced while non-plant parasitic nematodes increased. The number of non-plant parasitic nematodes in the soil treated with chloropicrin + lvfeng organic manure was 2 times than that treated with chloropicrin only. The ratio of non-parasitic to parasitic nematodes of three treatments was higher than the control. Percent of survived plants was 94.8%-96.4% and diseased root was decreased obviously. The control efficacy was more than 89% at the first year after treatment. The survived plants and plot yield of ginseng increased significantly and the control efficacy was around 40% at the second year. The best of the three treatments was by chloropicrin + organic manure.  相似文献

Infection of pea roots by soil-borne pathogens causes foot and root rot. In 1985 research was started to develop a method to predict the root rot likely to occur in prospective pea fields. In a bioassay the pea cultivar Finale was sown in a composite soil sample from each field in pots under standardized conditions in the greenhouse. The plants were removed at the green bud stage and the severity of root rot recorded. Between 1985 and 1988 approximately 200 field pea crops were monitored for root rot development. Forty-eight fields were bioassayed in 1986, 51 in 1987 and 30 in 1988. Each year, root rot readings in the bioassay and disease severity readings at field sampled plants at flowering and green pod were linearly correlated (P<0.001). As the degree of root rot in the field crop increased, there was a proportional lower yield. In heavily infested fields, up to a 50% yield reduction occurred.The bioassay in pots proved to be a reliable method for predicting root rot severity in sampled pea fields.  相似文献

The effect of 24 treatment combinations of cultures of Streptomyces costaricanus sp. nov. (ATCC55274), Bacillus thuringiensis (ATCC55273) and a strain of Paecilomyces marquandii, nematicide (cadusaphos), and/or wheat mash on growth and response of potted banana plants (Musa AAA) and populations of Radopholus similis, Helicotylenchus multicinctus and free living nematodes were studied in Río Frío, Costa Rica. The best plant responses (height, leaf numbers, healthy root weight), lowest numbers of plant parasitic nematodes and highest numbers of free living nematodes were observed for treatments containing wheat as a component. Two treatments, viz. wheat + Streptomyces costaricanus (200-ml culture) and wheat + P. marquandii (200-ml culture), gave the overall best results. Numbers of free living nematodes increased up to 1500-fold only for treatments containing wheat. Significant positive correlations existed between numbers of free living nematodes and shoot weight, healthy root biomass, plant height, and leaf numbers. Non-wheat treatments, including nematicide only, gave the poorest responses in general. Observations of nematodes sampled 50 days following planting in wheat-containing treatments showed most of the free-living nematodes ( 90%) to be infected by nematophagous fungi (species not recorded). The results show that an organic amendment to soil, with or without a microbial component, can be an effective inducer of processes that regulate plant-parasitic nematode populations in soil.  相似文献

The susceptibility to Phytophthora cinnamomi of four crops (wheat, oat, vetch, and yellow lupin) commonly planted in rangeland ecosystems in southern Spain was evaluated. By means of in vitro infection experiments, the presence of the pathogen into the roots of yellow lupin (symptomatic) and vetch (asymptomatic) was observed, but never into wheat and oat roots (asymptomatic). It was also demonstrated that yellow lupin stimulated the production of zoospores of P. cinnamomi. Vetch, wheat and oat did not stimulate zoospore production. Under controlled conditions, only yellow lupin induced an increase in the number of viable chlamydospores in the soil. We concluded that the culture of wheat, oat, and vetch in rangelands did not influence the epidemiology of the Quercus root disease, even when asymptomatically-infected vetch is grown, and these crops can constitute an alternative to the culture of yellow lupin in rangeland ecosystems affected by Quercus root rot.  相似文献

A screening test was developed to study the effect of different quantities of inoculum of Rhizoctonia solani on root rot and growth of cultivars of wheat, barley, oats, rye and triticale in a controlled environment and the field in two seasons. The ranking of relative susceptibility to disease of cultivars within a cereal differed between the controlled environment and field experiments, and between seasons in the field. The ranking of relative susceptibility between cereals also differed between experiments. In the controlled-environment experiment, wheat had the highest disease rating, followed by oats, barley, triticale and rye, but in the field barley had the highest rating followed by wheat and then oats. The overall differences between the cereals were small.  相似文献

 目前三七[Panax notoginseng (Burk. ) F. H. Chen]根腐病尚无病害分级标准,为发现抗病种质资源和评估病害防控效果,本研究建立了用于三七根腐病的田间分级标准。从云南省文山州收集200株发生根腐病的三年生植株,筛选获得具有代表性不同腐烂程度的98株样本,通过对表面腐烂占比、横截面腐烂、支须根腐烂、芽及芦头腐烂5项指标进行描述,采用SPSS21进行样本聚类分析,制定了如下用于三七根腐病的田间分级标准:0级,健康,无症状;1级,腐烂仅发生在块根表面、且0<腐烂面积占比≤10%,或腐烂已扩展至内部且5%<腐烂面积占比≤10%;2级,腐烂已扩展至内部、且10%<腐烂面积占比≤40%,支须根无腐烂;3级,腐烂已扩展至内部、且40%<腐烂面积占比≤50%,支须根腐烂;4级,腐烂已扩展至内部、且50%<腐烂面积占比≤70%,支须根腐烂脱落;5级,腐烂已扩展至内部、且腐烂面积占比>70%直至整个块根完全腐烂,支须根腐烂。本标准于2016~2017年连续2年被用于评价土壤处理防控三七根腐病害的发生危害和防治效果,结果显示,该标准可以较好地对不同土壤处理的防病效果进行量化和评估,且与传统分级标准相比,其评价结果更优。  相似文献

This paper evaluates, in the greenhouse and under natural conditions, barley yield losses due to defoliation treatments of the upper three leaves either healthy or infected at the boot stage by Pyrenophora teres f. teres. Defoliation was assumed as a loss of a similar leaf area caused by net blotch disease severity of 100%. Contribution to grain yield was defined herein as a difference between defoliation treatments and a treatment where plants lost all their upper three leaves. In contrast, yield losses referred to differences in yield between defoliations and the control. In the greenhouse, removal of the antepenultimate leaf did not affect any yield component. For main stems, defoliating upper three leaves reduced grain yield by 30% and this was mainly due to flag leaf removal. These losses were similar to those induced by net blotch disease under natural conditions, but were of 42% for all tillers. Grain yield losses due to disease severity were not equivalent to the defoliation effect of a similar healthy leaf area. On the other hand and for a significant contribution to grain yield, flag leaf was dependent on the presence of the other two leaves. Inoculation and defoliation of 21 cultivars induced similar grain yield losses of 32%. However, biotic stress reduced by 40% the contribution of their upper three leaves. Under field conditions, yield losses were not significant until barley plants lost more than one upper leaf and flag leaf contribution was equivalent to that of the remaining leaves. Characteristic roots, defined as leaf coefficients for plant performance, were 0.13, 0.06 and 0.01 for the flag, penultimate and antepenultimate leaves, respectively. Because antepenultimate leaves become trivial at the boot stage, we propose that coefficients of the remaining leaves should be used when modelling yield losses due to barley foliar diseases.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: The efficacy of seed dressing and soil application formulations from the isolates of Trichoderma viride (IARI P1; MTCC 5369), T. virens (IARI P3; MTCC 5370) and T. harzianum (IARI P4; MTCC 5371) were evaluated individually and in combination in pot and field experiments during the rainy seasons of 2005, 2006 and 2007 for the management of wet root rot (Rhizoctonia solani) and improvement in the yield of mungbean. RESULTS: A seed dressing formulation, Pusa 5SD, and soil application formulations, Pusa Biogranule 6 (PBG 6) and Pusa Biopellet 16G (PBP 16G), based on Trichoderma virens, were found to be superior to other formulations in reducing disease incidence and increasing seed germination and shoot and root lengths in mungbean. In field experiments, a combination of soil application with PBP 16G (T. virens) and seed treatment with Pusa 5SD (T. virens) + carboxin was superior to any of these formulations individually in increasing seed germination, shoot and root lengths and grain yield and reducing wet root rot incidence in mungbean. Seed treatment was more effective than soil application for all the evaluated parameters. The combined application of Pusa 5SD and carboxin was also superior to individual treatment. CONCLUSION: The efficacy of the evaluated formulations against wet root rot of mungbean proved that the integration of soil application of PBP 16G and seed treatment with Pusa 5SD + carboxin is highly effective for the management of wet root rot, increasing plant growth and grain yield of mungbean Copyright © 2011 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

植物根腐线虫病的研究——Ⅲ.麻根腐线虫病病原鉴定   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
 1986以来,先后调查了湖南沅江、江西宜春、九江、永丰及奉新、安徽芜湖及萱城、浙江临海和广西桂林等市(县)的苎麻根腐线虫病,鉴定了苎麻根样32份及其土样32份。除江西奉新县外,在其它各市(县)都查到同一短体线虫,带虫根样和土样分别占供检根样和土样的63%和66%。根据这种线虫的测量值和其雌虫唇环2个、后阴子宫囊较长(22-52μm)并可分化以及雌虫尾端常平(斜)截或有时出现一凹痕等形态特征,鉴定为咖啡短体线虫Pratylenchus coffeae (Zimmermann,1898)&Filipjev Sc-huurmans Stekhoven,1941。它与过去国内报道该病的优势病原即穿割短体线虫Pratylencbus pene-trans (Cobb,1917) Filipjev&Schuurmans Stekhoven,1941不同。  相似文献

通过分析黄芪根腐病病株和健株根围微生物菌群的变化,探究根腐病的发病机理,寻找预警病害发生的生物指示因子,为土壤微生态的生物调控提供依据。试验通过菌落计数、PCR-DGGE和16S rRNA V3区基因测序的方法,分析不同年限下黄芪根围病/健土中微生物区系、多样性及群落结构的变化。结果表明:细菌作为黄芪根围土中的优势种群,是影响病土中微生物数量升高的关键因子,其多样性降低是影响病害加重的主要原因之一。假单胞菌属Pseudomonas和无色杆菌属Achromobacter为土壤中的优势菌群,健土中的1号和4号特异条带分别为未培养的假单胞菌Uncultured Pseudomonas sp.和荧光假单胞菌P.fluorescens;6号未培养假单胞菌Uncultured Pseudomonas sp.的丰度与根腐病发病率负相关,16号无色杆菌Achromobacter sp.的丰度则在3年生土壤中显著升高,随后急剧下降。上述4个菌可作为潜在的土壤健康或发病指示因子进一步研究。  相似文献

本研究于2011-2017年对山西省主要市(县)小麦上孢囊线虫的发生与分布进行了较系统的调查研究,从运城、晋城、临汾、长治、晋中、太原等市小麦产区百余个乡镇采集和分离小麦根及根围土壤样品1 131份,其中336份检出有孢囊线虫,检出率为29.7%;运城市和临汾市小麦根及根围土壤样品孢囊检出率高,分别达到42.3%和32.5%,晋中市、长治市、太原市以及晋城市等地区也发现有不同程度的分布。因地区、栽培制度和土壤质地等的不同,土壤中线虫的群体密度也存在较大的差异,白雌虫密度最高的群体分布在运城市的一些地区(每100mL土壤中白雌虫数平均达到101个)。通过形态学鉴定明确山西省小麦上孢囊线虫群体种类较为单一,均为禾谷孢囊线虫Heterodera avenae,未发现我国小麦上另一重要的孢囊线虫种类——菲利普孢囊线虫H.filipjevi。小麦孢囊线虫在山西不同地区的发生和分布情况为山西省针对性地开展小麦上孢囊线虫的综合治理提供了有价值的信息。  相似文献
