在中国古代建筑上应用龙的花纹是比较广泛的，石雕、木雕、窑冶、彩画、雕銮、铸造等各行各作，常用龙纹造型作重点装饰。龙图案是使用，有着历封建统治的烙印。但匠师们发挥了浪漫主义的夸张技法，在龙的纹样方面创造多种形态和变形处理。极具艺术效果和感染力。
