Abstract:Atomizing experiments on four types of pneumatic nozzles, namely, external mixing of two-fluids, internal mixing of two-fluids, internal mixing of three-fluids and combination of internal and external mixing of three-fluids were carried out with various geometrical dimensions of nozzles, liquid properties and operating conditions. Based on the experimental results, the application field of each type of the nozzles was determined. The fact that these nozzles produce smaller mean drop diameters than other type nozzles under the same operating conditions, indicates that they are of improved models of pneumatic nozzles with better design and reasonable construction.
