Abstract:Sediment samples from Mount Beigu wetland were incubated to investigate the activity variations of nitrate reductase(Nar) under the conditions of rewetting from the respective antecedent moisture of 1%~3%,7%~11% and 16%~18% to 60% and drying from 70% to 5%~7%(gravimetric moisture),which aimed to more accurately evaluate N2O emissions during the rewetting and drying process.Nar activities for sediment with antecedent moisture of 16%~18% were higher than those with antecedent moisture of 16%~18% and 1%~3% in 48h after rewetting.The lowest activities of Nar existed in the sediment with antecedent moisture of 1%~3%,which indicated that the higher the antecedent moisture,the higher the Nar activities when the sediment drying from 70% to 19%~22% during the drying process.The decreasing water content in a lower water regime leads to higher Nar activities for the sediment.
