Abstract:	Dispersive Fourier transform spectroscopy (DFTS) is used to determine the dispersion of the real refractive indexn() of the gases CH₄, C₂H₄, C₂H₆, C₃H₈ and cyclo-C₃H₆ in the visible wave number range. Some molecular properties, e.g. oscillator strength sums, are derived from these measurements and compared with available data of literature.
