| Abstract: | Six patients with hydrocephalus who were treated with cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) shunts became refractory to serosal absorption of CSF. All were subsequently treated with ventriculo-gallbladder shunts. The surgical technique and long-term results were evaluated by retrospective review of the hospital records. Detailed evaluation of 1 of the 6 has suggested a dynamic role for the gallbladder in the function of ventriculo-gallbladder shunts. |
