Synthesis of silver(III) aminomethylpyridine complexes from silver nitrate and aminomethylpyridines

Ag^III complexes have been synthesized with pyridine derivatives, i.e., 2-amino-4-methylpyridine and 2-amino-6-methylpyridine, by the oxidation of AgNO₃ with ammonium peroxydisulfate in the presence of the ligands in aqueous solution. These new complexes were characterized by i.r., ¹H-n.m.r., u.v.–vis., microanalysis, magnetic susceptibility, voltammetry and thermal gravimetry.
