AN ANALYSIS OF CAUSES AND TREATMENTS FOR LARYNGEAL DISEASES OF 112 SINGERS

The causes and treatments of laryngeal diseases occured 140 times in 112 singers are analysed. From this analysis, a conclusion may be drawn that some physiolgic and pathologic changes of the general system and adjacent organs of the larynx are the direct or indirect factors resulting in laryngeal diseases. in part of the patients. But to many patients, overuse and misuse of voice which usually come together are important causes. Generally speaking, the misuse of voice is often considered as a principal one. My observations suggest that the vocal correction is more important than medical therapy to the majority of such cases. Therefore, only when laryngologists and singing teachers work together to make more efforts in this field can we improve the ways of treating such laryngeal diseases.
