Hutchinson's sign

Hutchinson's sign--pigmentation of the periungual tissues--is a valuable clue to the diagnosis of subungual melanoma. When present, this sign indicates malignant melanoma, however minimal the pigmentation or the histology may be. An illustrative case is presented.
