Influence of perioperative clinical nursing path on length of hospital stays of patients with heart valve replacement

Objective To explore the effect of perioperative clinical nursing path on the length of hospital stays of patients with heart valve replacement. Methods From November 2015 to November 2018, 100 patients who underwent the heart valve replacement in a hospital were randomly divided into a trial group and a control group, with 50 cases in each group. The routine nursing was carried out in the control group, and the perioperative clinical nursing path intervention was carried out in the trial group on the basis of the control group. Results The average stay time of ICU and average hospitalization time in the trial group were (28.39 ± 5.13) h, and (19.11 ± 1.62) d respectively, which were shorter than those in the control group ; the hospitalization cost was (58 827.34 ± 4 621.27) yuan in the trial group, which was lower than that in the control group ; the nursing satisfaction in the trial group was higher than that in the control group (94% vs 72%, P < 0.01). Conclusion The perioperative clinical nursing pathway can shorten ICU stay time and hospitalization time, reduce hospitalization cost, and improve patients' nursing satisfaction.
