Abstract:A low foam degreaser that can efficiently remove oil and grease from metal surface at low-and-medium temperature was developed. Low foam nonionic surfactants were selected by formulation experiment. The effect of individual component of the degreaser on degreasing effect was studied by orthogonal test,and the optimal composition was obtained as follows:DOWFAX 2A1 1.0 g/L,TX-10 1.25 g/L,specialty alkoxylate 0.5 g/L,EP2445 0.25 g/L,Na2SiO3·5H2O 5 g/L,Na2CO3 25 g/L,sodium tripolyphosphate(STPP) 10 g/L,and C6H5Na3O7·2H2O 2 g/L. The cloud point,cleaning power and foaming performance of the optimal degreaser were tested. The degreaser exhibits excellent degreasing effect,low foam,and quick defoaming at a temperature of 40-50 °C.
