Abstract:The construction of arc-arc topological relationship on the same junction is important to automatically create polygons.In order to describe the topological relationship of arcs on the same junction,this paper proposed a virtual azimuth(VA) algorithm for the generation of arc-arc topological relationship on the same junction concerning on the concepts of Direction Angle and Virtual Azimuth,and took into account the efficiency,reliability and stability of algorithm.The experiments were then carried out to validate the algorithm by generating the topological relationship of two cities' traffic network.In comparison with the existing algorithm,i.e.,traditional angle algorithm,vector external product algorithm and Qi algorithm,VA was proved to be more effective and advantageous to some extent.The testing results showed that the choosing and calculating method of parameter was important to the efficiency of algorithm,and VA could keep high efficiency with superior parameter.
