Abstract:In the case of limited spaces in the rapidly urbanized areas, it is of great significance to identify ecological sources with key landscape ecological functions and their protection priorities for enhancing the level of regional multi-ecosystem services and sustainable development. In this paper, the multi-ecosystem service capability index (MESC index) of each natural space were evaluated by the constructed coupling model. The results of clustering analysis based on the index divided the natural spaces into six priority grades. The higher the priority grade of natural space is, the more important its function is, and the less difficult it is to maintain or enhance the services, which also means that this natural space should be identified as an important ecological source and brought into the ecological network in the first place. The method based on MESC index evaluation proposed here provided a clear and repeatable framework and useful planning reference information for the hierarchical management of natural spaces.
