It has important binding/transport function. It can eliminate or reduce brain edema via regulating colloid osmotic pressure, combining the toxic composition in body fluid to make it failure, and transporting nutritional ingredients and related therapeutic agents, and thus exerts its wide clinical therapeutic effects. In recent years, with the development of the research, it is found that albumin has significant neuroprotective and therapeutic effects in ischemic stroke.
