Abstract:Global climate change threatens the already fragilestructures and functions of urban ecosystems. Exploring anenvironmentally adaptive planting method is an effective wayto address climate change and protect urban biodiversity andecosystem services. This paper introduces a planting method tocope with climate change and adapt to the climate characteristicsof southern Jiangsu Province. This method first evaluates localplant species according to ecological criteria such as adaptability,resistance stability and community structure diversity, andselected plants with strong adaptability, and then combines withecological value and aesthetic objectives, as well as the integratedconsideration of cultural and economic factors for the plantingdesign. The aim of this article is to provide new ideas on how toadapt to environmental changes and enhance ecosystem services,biodiversity and aesthetic value of plant landscapes in the context ofglobal climate change.
