Reform and Development of Modern Distance Education in WHTVU

The modern distance education in WHTVU(Wuhan TV University) is facing rare opportunities and severe chal-lenges in the new round of reform tide.Under the guidance of "life-long education",with the construction of "a resource-eco-nomical and environment-friendly society" as the opportunity,the service to the society as the aim and the non-academic edu-cation as the breakthrough,the paper explores the channels to combine the distance education with the community education.It is of great significance to deeply reform and scientifically develop the modern distance education in WHTVU,thus rendering it the important backbone in the construction of life-long education framework and the building of a learning city in Wuhan.
