Abstract: | Objective To know the influential factors of metabolic syndrome (MS) in Han population in Xichang city. Methods A case-control study was conducted. 120 patients with MS(as case group) and 120 non-MS controls with 1:1 matched by age and gender according to the case group (as control group ) were selected. The non-conditional Logistic regression was used to screen the related factors for MS. Results The detection rates of MS components ranked as the follow: dyslipidemia (98.3%), hypertension(92.5% ), overweight or obesity (90.0%) and hyperglycemia (33.3%). Education was a protective factor for MS ( OR = 0.461, 95% CI: 0.234-4).908 ), while family history of related diseases was an independent risk factor for MS (OR=3.287, 95% CI: 1.722~6.275 ). Conclusion The most common combination of metabolic syndrome components in Han population in this study is overweight or obesity +hypertension +dyslipidemia. Education background and family history of related diseases are influential factors for metabolic syndrome. |
