Abstract:Genetic parameters on growth traits and wood properties were estimated using data from four E.urophylla open-pollinated progeny trials which included two 1st generation(D46 and D54) and two 2nd generation(D135 and SE35).The study showed that the genetic control for growth and bark traits was low,with narrow-sense heritability(h2) ranging from 0.08 to 0.32 for DBH,0.05 to 0.38 for HT,0.10 to 0.33 for individual tree volume(VOL) and 0.27 to 0.32 for bark percentage(BarkP).Genetic control for Pilodyn penetration was strong,and the narrow-sense heritability(h2) ranged from 0.35 to 0.65.In the experiment D135,wood basic density(BD) and the narrow-sense heritability(h2) of FAKOPP were also generally high(0.53 and 0.41 respectively).Narrow-sense heritability(h2) of growth traits and Pilodyn penetration decreased from 1st to 2nd generation.Wood basic density was strongly negatively correlated with Pilodyn penetration and FAKOPP,but showed no significant correlations with growth traits.There was no significant effect of genetic and environment interaction(GEI) on wood properties,while there was some effects of GEI on DBH.Genetic correlations between generations for pilodyn penetration were positively strong,while those for DBH were significantly lower.
