Structure Design of the Prestressed Concrete Containment for Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant

This paper presents the designing general situation of the Containment forour first self-designing Qinshan nuclear power plant.The containment is a post-tensioned prestressed concrete shell structure,here well present all the princi-pal aspects as detailed as possible,such as the selection of the containmenttype,the general picture of the structure,the basis of design,the analysis ofstress,the design consideration of prestressed tendons and steel liner,etc.Wethink that will enable everyone to understand the containment of the Qinshannuclear power plant.In fact.this paper can be regarded as summary of thedesign of the containment.It's not only worth to consultion by designing con-tainment but also worth consulting while designing prestressed silos,storagetanks and cisterns,etc.
