Abstract:Poly(styrene-butadiene-styrene)(SBS) were modified by reacting with (R_fCO_2)_2 in CH_2Cl_2 at room temperature to give R_f-SBS polymers. All the fluoroalkylated products were characterized by IR and ~19F NMR spectra. It is shown that R_f and R_fCO_2 groups were only added onto the double bonds of SBS polymer chain via single electron transfer(SET) mechanism. The R_f-SBS polymers showed good water- and oil- repellency and low refractive indices.
