Abstract:
Reduction of Mn2+ has been studied in aqueous dioxan mixtures at a dropping mercury electrode. The reduction has been found to be quasi-reversible and hence kinetic parameters (Ks and ) have been calculated by Gellings' method. The Ks values are found to be in the order of 10?3 cm/s. The effect of halide ions has also been studied in aqueous dioxan solvent mixtures using sodium chloride and sodium bromide as base electrolytes in place of sodium perchlorate. The effect of temperature has also been studied.
