Abstract:RC pulse power supply is commonly used in micro-EDM,with low open circuit voltage micro-energy RC pulse power supply can realize more precise EDM.The discharge waveforms of micro-energy RC pulse power supply under low open circuit voltage were observed,and the voltage across the charging capacitor,the voltages across the discharge gap and the current waveforms of the discharge circuit were compared and analyzed under different charging capacitors and open circuit voltages.The result showed that due to the influence of parasitic parameters in the circuit loop,there is a significant difference between the voltage across the charging capacitor and the voltage across the discharge gap.A certain impedance in the discharge channel leads to a potential difference along the discharge channel,which makes the discharge voltage between the RC pulse power supply electrodes under low open circuit voltage get a sustain voltage,while the sustain voltage is easily affected by factors such as the volume of charge stored in the charging capacitor and state of the discharge gap.
