One case of infertility caused by polycystic ovary syndrome of qi stagnation and blood stasis type treated by acupoint catgut embedding at eight points around umbilicus

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a highly heterogeneous endocrine and metabolic disorder,50%~75% of them were obese PCOS,and the majority of them were centripetal obesity.The risk of long-term complications such as metabolic syndrome,cardiovascular disease,type 2 diabetes and endometrial cancer in obese PCOS patients is doubled. There is no uniform treatment standard for obese PCOS,and weight loss is very important for these patients. Acupoint catgut embedding is the extension and development of acupuncture and moxibustion technology under the guidance of acupuncture theory. Acupoint catgut embedding is rarely used in infertility. The article applied catgut embedding technique to obese PCOS infertility patients and got a successful pregnancy.
